Chapter 3

Author: Carrot
I opened the door, and to my surprise, ran right into Jacob, who had rushed over.

Seeing me, he let out a sigh of relief. Then his brows furrowed as he scolded me, "You came back to the room by yourself without even telling me? I've been looking everywhere for you."

I looked at him and didn't answer.

I didn't know how to answer that question.

He already had Anna by his side, and my standing there was redundant.

Jacob looked down, noticed my suitcase, and asked, "Where are you going?"

I replied, "Now that the Moon Goddess ceremony is over, it's time for me to leave."

Hearing me say this, Jacob's face darkened. "Just how long are you going to keep throwing this tantrum?"

In sheer disbelief, I let out a laugh.

For all these years, he kept letting her name slip, and now he had mated with her at the Moon Goddess ceremony.

What purpose did I have left here? Did leaving count as just a tantrum in his eyes?

Jacob pulled a ring out of his pocket. "I told you, the only Luna of my pack will be you. I'll explain everything clearly later. Can't you just give me a little time?"

Saying this, Jacob tried to force the ring onto my finger.

Unfortunately, the ring was too small and simply wouldn't fit. My finger turned bright red from his rough movements.

After a moment, the ring slipped off and dropped to the floor.

Jacob finally stopped, explaining with a hint of embarrassment, "They got the name wrong when the ring was ordered. They made it to Anna's size. I'll have someone alter it."

After he finished, I crouched down and picked up the ring. "Since it fits Anna perfectly, let's not let it go to waste."

Hearing me say this, Jacob flared up in anger.

"I already explained it to you! Why do you have to keep fixating on these little things? You are my Luna. In the future, you must prioritize the bigger picture."

Hearing this only felt deeply ironic. I shoved the ring back to him. "No need. Someone like me wouldn't make a good Luna for the pack. You should find someone else."

Jacob sighed, reaching out to hold me back. "Anya, stop letting your temper talk. Always having to coax you makes me tired, too."

Hearing Jacob say these words reminded me of the past.

A witch had once given Jacob top-tier herbs that were incredibly helpful for anyone with a weak constitution. Jacob had promised to give me this gift so that I could send it to my dad.

I had been absolutely thrilled. After all, these herbs were extremely rare, and if my dad received them, they could alleviate his weakness.

Because of this, I had told my dad early on. They had been looking forward to the herbs just as much as I was.

I never expected that Seth would be the one to tell me the herbs had been given to Anna instead.

Faced with my disbelief, Seth pulled out the message Jacob had sent him.

[Give the herbs to Anna when they arrive.]

Those few short words hit me like a bucket of freezing water.

I took the text message to confront Jacob, only for him to just say, "It's just some herbs. Since I wrote the wrong name, let's just leave it at that."

The next day, I saw Anna post about it on her social media.

[My body is perfectly healthy. I don't even need herbs to nourish my health, but it's hard to reject the Alpha's good intentions. I guess I can only keep them at home to admire.]

I had shown this to Jacob, who simply said, "Since they were given to her, it's up to her what she does with them. You're about to become my Luna. Can't you be a little more generous?"

I could hardly believe my ears hearing this.

Tears flowed down uncontrollably. "You clearly knew my dad really needed these herbs. Now Anna is keeping them at home as an ornament, and you're just letting it slide?"

Jacob's gaze was indifferent.

"As the Alpha, I can't accommodate you in everything. Appropriately rewarding the other wolves in the pack is the only way to establish my authority. You're about to become my Luna. You should understand me on this."

I was driven mad with anger by his words and brought up breaking up with him that very day.

I left with my luggage that night, and Jacob didn't come looking for me. It wasn't until the next day that he sent Seth to pick me up.

He had also given a strict order that Seth was not allowed to return unless he brought me back.

So Seth spent a whole day and night wearing me down, earnestly advising me.

"Miss Anya, Alpha definitely cares about you deeply. Otherwise, he wouldn't have had me drop pack business to bring you home. Please stop being angry with Alpha."

My heart softened, and I had no choice but to follow him back.

Yet I never expected that after arriving home, Jacob would only say indifferently upon seeing me, "You need to rein in your temper in the future and stop making trouble. Always having to coax you is exhausting."

This time, Jacob had said the same words as before.

I smiled bitterly.

Jacob probably thought I would continue to compromise as I had in the past.

He had forgotten that over time, a person gets tired too.

  • Call Me by My Name   Chapter 10

During my first month with the Wilson Pack, I barely slept through the night. It wasn't because I was having trouble adjusting, but rather because I hadn't experienced this kind of peace and quiet in a very long time.In the past, back in Jacob’s pack, I would wake up every day to an endless pile of tasks waiting for me. The elders' demands, the scheduling of the warriors, the preparations for the Moon Goddess ceremony, the inventory of the storehouse, everything fell onto my shoulders. Yet my name was never once on the credit sheet.Back then, I thought it was only temporary. I believed that once Jacob secured his position as Alpha, everything would get better.Only later did I realize that it wasn't that he couldn't remember my hard work. He just felt there was no need to remember it.Here with the Wilson Pack, I didn't have to worry about Anna stealing credit for my achievements. Because here, there was only Anya, and no Anna. This was exactly what I needed most. After a ye

  • Call Me by My Name   Chapter 9

After arriving at the Wilson Pack, I began adapting to life here. The weather at the Wilson Pack was hot, but it sat on a beautiful coastline, and the members of the pack were incredibly friendly to me. No one bullied me just because I was a newly joined werewolf. Slowly, I grew to love my life here.Who knew that one day, Jacob would show up?The moment the werewolves of the Wilson Pack saw him, they wanted to kick him out. In the past, Jacob's pride would have demanded that he retreat if he were unwelcome. However, this time something was different. He had even brought along his warriors, looking very much ready to start a war right then and there. Not wanting either side to get hurt, I had no choice but to step forward and call Jacob out to the beach.Once we were far away from the other wolves, Jacob reached out and grabbed my hand."I'm sorry, Anya. I know my actions lately have deeply hurt you."I've already made things clear to Anna. I told her not to come looking fo

It was from Anna.[Aren't you coming back? It's so late. Jacob, I'm still waiting for you at home.]Seeing this message from Anna, he suddenly remembered something. He quickly sent a text message to Anya. However, the moment he hit send, the screen showed that the recipient had blocked him.He searched other social media platforms, but without exception, the result was the same.Looking at Anya's name on his screen, he finally realized. It seemed he had lost Anya.Seeing that he hadn't returned for a long time, Anna rushed over.Jacob lifted his head to look at her."Anya's gone..."Anna froze for a moment, a barely perceptible flash of joy crossing her eyes. However, she quickly masked it, taking a few steps closer with a voice full of just the right amount of concern."Anya is just too immature. She doesn't understand you mean well."As she spoke, she reached out to wrap her arms around Jacob's arm.The moment she drew close, the silver necklace around her neck swayed ge

Meanwhile, a wave of unease rolled through Jacob, stirring his wolf.Anya's face kept flashing across his mind. In the past, Anya's eyes had held nothing but him. However, the last time he saw Anya, she had been too calm, her eyes completely devoid of emotion. The more he thought about her unnatural calmness, the more unsettled he became. He felt as though something was slipping completely out of his control.Anna, on the other hand, had no idea what Jacob was thinking. She picked up a small piece of cake and fed it to Jacob's lips. "Taste it. Does it taste the same as before?"Jacob looked at Anna, telling himself he was definitely overthinking. He took a bite of the cake, but right then, a warrior walked in to report, "Alpha, Miss Anya is not in her room."Hearing this, he stood up immediately without hesitation, turning to follow the warrior out. It was only when he reached the door that he remembered to look back and offer Anna an explanation. "Anna, I'm going to chec

  • Call Me by My Name   Chapter 6

In the past, I had thought about leaving Jacob and this pack countless times. However, every single time, he would swear to me under the moon, saying he needed me. Since he had just become Alpha, he needed my help to manage the pack's affairs. He also told me that he would love me forever.Because of those words, I never truly thought about leaving all these years. Instead, I poured all of my time and energy into building up the pack. I stayed by his side, helping him step by step to make the pack stronger and better.I just never expected that it would all end like this. After the warriors took me away, they didn't actually force me into exile. They had received Jacob's orders to just put on a show in front of the outsiders. Once no other werewolves were watching, they brought me to a hotel instead. Before leaving, they handed me the antidote. They also passed along a message. "Alpha wanted us to tell you that as long as you behave, the position of Luna will be yours in th

  • Call Me by My Name   Chapter 5

The next morning, rumors began spreading through the pack that I was a homewrecker.Even when I went to the supermarket to buy groceries, I could hear people pointing and whispering behind my back. "Is she the one who came between the Alpha and Luna?""Wow, I never would have guessed she was that kind of person.""Right? No wonder, during the Moon Goddess ceremony, even though Anna's name was clearly called out, she still insisted on forcing her way to the front. Turns out she's just a mistress.""So disgusting. Werewolves like her should be exiled from our pack."I pulled out my phone to pay, only to see what Anna had posted. It was an edited screenshot of a chat history. From the snippet she put out, it looked entirely like I was the one trying to seduce Jacob. In the past, Jacob had told me that the pack wasn't stable yet, so there was no rush to announce our relationship. He said that once the Moon Goddess ceremony came, every werewolf in the pack would know about us.I h
