Chapter 16: Go

Samael stood on the other side, dressed entirely in black. A black tight sweater with long sleeves, black pants and heavy boots. No crown, no Wrath jewels, nothing to indicate he was the king.

But he didn't need that. It was very, very clear he was the king here. There was almost a sort of aura around him, one that exuded danger and power. One that I didn't want to be near at all.

As I entered, Samael looked up, his gaze fixed on my Lara Croft outfit.

Fuck. I felt nervous.

The demons remained motionless, the only sound being the crackling of the fire. Despite not being close to it, I could still feel the heat emanating from the flames. Samael nodded towards his side, indicating for me to come. Slowly, I made my way around the circle of demons towards their king.

I walked behind demons and had a feeling they didn't like someone so close to their back, even if I was a human. One wrong move or look and Samael would deal with them. They had to ignore their instincts to attack whoever got
