Chapter 2: Who Sneaked into Her Room?

Although the man was robust, at such a moment, even the strongest of men would only bring pain to a woman. Just as she could no longer endure and was about to faint, the cold, breathless voice of the man sounded in her ear, "How about it? Who's better, me or your husband?"

Lillian Veblen suddenly came to her senses, her immediate thought being to use her long nails to scratch the face of this hateful man. Unfortunately, the light was too dim, and she couldn't make out his face. Her strength was already depleted, her eyelids drooping, unable to stay open any longer. She passed out under the man.

When she woke up again, it was broad daylight. Lillian Veblen's eyelashes fluttered, and she opened her eyes from her daze. The first thing she felt was pain!!! It was as if her entire body had been run over by a truck, and the lower part of her body felt like it was being torn apart; every slight movement sent a sharp intake of breath through her.

Fragments of last night's events floated into her mind, and she abruptly sat up, throwing off the blanket. She found herself completely naked!!! The bruises on her body were extremely suggestive, more than enough to show what had happened last night.

*Boom*—

It felt like thunder struck Lillian Veblen, her heart sinking to the bottom. So, everything that happened last night was real. It wasn't just a nightmare! She really had been raped while asleep.

Holding her head with both hands, Lillian Veblen could hardly believe what had happened. How could this be? Who had sneaked into her room last night and done such a thing to her? She was married; how was she going to face her husband now? Lillian Veblen was filled with immense frustration.

Her first instinct was to get out of bed and rush to the bathroom to wash away the marks on her body. But as she tried to get up, her legs gave way, and she fell straight to the floor. Fortunately, there was a carpet, so she didn't make a sound.

This was clearly a sign of excessive indulgence. Even with her husband, it had never been this intense. Last night, that man had nearly drained her. Lillian Veblen cursed him and his entire family in her heart, gritting her teeth as she struggled to stand, though her legs were still trembling.

There was a knock on the door, and a maid's voice called out, "Young Madam, are you awake?"

"Don't come in!" Lillian Veblen quickly shouted. In her current state, if the maid saw her, it would be disastrous. They would surely report to her in-laws, who already disliked her. If they found even the slightest evidence of infidelity, they would have the perfect excuse to kick her out. Even if the maids didn't tattle, the events of last night meant she had betrayed her husband, which made her feel terrible.

"Young Madam?" The maid, confused, continued to knock.

"Go away for now. I'm awake, and I'll be down shortly," Lillian Veblen called back, raising her voice. Finally, the maid left, and Lillian Veblen breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Looking at the mess on the floor, her underwear, bra, and the torn nightgown scattered on the carpet, starkly revealing her betrayal! Lillian Veblen wanted to break down and cry, but her lost innocence wouldn't return. She quickly pulled herself together, thinking that the man from last night couldn't have entered her room without a reason. Who was he? What scheme did he have against her?

Lillian Veblen quickly composed herself, gathered the clothes scattered on the floor, took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and went downstairs for breakfast.

"Husband..."

In the dining room, a man in a suit was sitting, his back very similar to her husband, Nelson Coleridge. At first glance, Lillian Veblen thought her husband had returned from his business trip. She rushed towards him, wanting to pour out all her grievances, but the sudden stiffness of the man's body and the overly cold aura made her realize she had hugged the wrong person.
