Cora's POV

Felicity and I burst into the hospital, breathless.

The sharp scent of antiseptic fills the air, mixing with the faint tang of blood. But before I can ask anything, Felicity spots Beta Smith across the room—and the world blurs around them.

He wraps her in his arms instantly, crushing her against his chest. His uniform is streaked with dirt and blood, but Felicity doesn’t care. She clings to him like he’s the only thing keeping her grounded, her fingers buried in his back as he murmurs something into her hair.

For a second, I forget where we are. They look like the perfect picture of love—messy, real, and unshakable.

But Jasper isn’t with them.

My heart stutters, eyes scanning every hallway, every passing nurse. Where is he?

Beta Smith finally pulls back, though their fingers remain laced together.

“He’s with the doctor,” he says, catching my panicked expression. “They’re bandaging him up now.”

My chest tightens. “Is he okay? How bad is it?”

“He’s alright,” Smith says, gi

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 41: Need

Cora's POVAll I can think about is Jasper. The way my body reacts to his touch, gentle yet unrelentingly steady as he holds my waist in his palms. The way I can tell he’s hard underneath me and there’s something so satisfying in eliciting those rough, barely-stifled moans from him. His scent–holy hell, his scent, rich and intoxicating and the only thing I want, that heady fir smell that’s completely taking me over. I want to touch him. I need to touch him. He’s my Alpha. I’m his Luna. There’s a claim we need to stake on each other, and each second spent in clothes is a second wasted. “You’re beautiful, Cora.” Jasper’s voice is rough with want as he drags his hands along my waist. I pull him into yet another kiss, bodies burning everywhere we meet. Our kisses before have by and large been softer, tamer things, but we’re abandoning all pretense of innocence as our tongues tangle together passionately. Jasper’s hand slips underneath my shirt and I moan into his open mouth as he rake

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 40: Disrespect

Jasper's POVAs my voice crackles through the room, the entire bar goes deathly silent. All eyes swivel towards me, but my gaze is only fixed on Cora as she’s slumped back in the booth. Beta Smith steps away from my side to go help Felicity bring her over to me. Cora is dangerously pale and hardly able to stand up on her own. “Jasper…” Cora murmurs softly as she’s carried over. “Jasper, Jasper…” Her voice may be gentle, but there’s an underlying desperation to it as she’s brought closer and closer to me. Hearing my name pass her lips sends a surge of desire through me, but remembering what those girls had been saying to her before, it’s quickly replaced by a sharp surge of fury. My voice is cold, cutting through the air like a dagger carved from ice. “I don’t usually punish she-wolves,” I say, glaring at the girl in front–I think her name is Alexis?–in anger. “But anyone who disrespects the Luna will be punished.” Alexis looks up at me, stunned and clearly not having expected any

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 39: Challengers

Cora's POVEventually, all the chatter seems to die down, and Felicity and I are granted the space to relax without too much attention at our booth. “That was… something,” I say with a light chuckle, taking a sip of my ginger beer and enjoying the way the soda bubbles down my throat. “It was certainly a warm welcome, I’d say!” Felicity replies. She claps me on the shoulder. “You did a good job, don’t worry. The more time you spend with the pack members, the more you’ll grow on them. You’re going to be a good Luna–don’t sweat it.” “Thanks, Felicity,” I say gratefully. “Anytime,” she replies, beaming. “And if you ever feel like you need a break from all the chaos, please, just let me know. Oh, say–” Felicity scans the bar once more, and her eyes widen with recognition as her gaze settles on a tall, slender man. “That’s the owner of the Waiting Bar! Let me introduce you two.” Just as Felicity’s mouth falls open in preparation to give the introduction, a sense of profound wrongness s

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 38: The Waiting Bar

Cora's POVAn uneasy silence fills the Waiting Bar. I glance around nervously, certain I’ve done something wrong. But as I make eye contact with a burly man to my left, he averts his gaze and sets down his drink immediately. His movements are practiced and deliberate as he places his right hand over his heart and bows his head respectfully. “Luna,” he intones respectfully in a rough, gravelly voice. The moment the burly man salutes, the rest of the bar follows suit. I’m not quite sure what to make of the scene before me as everyone clasps their hand to their chest and bows respectfully, until Felicity and I are the only two people standing normally in the bar. Felicity casts a quick glance around the room. “I don’t see the owner anywhere,” she murmurs. I’m too caught off guard to respond to what she’s just said. I’m still trying to figure out how they know I’m the Moongrove pack’s Luna–I don’t recognize a single person here, so how do they know who I am? Is it because I walked in

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 37: The Market

Cora's POVBy the time Felicity and I arrive at the market, the sun is already melting into the horizon, casting golden streaks across the sky. But the square? It’s alive—thrumming with energy, a heartbeat all its own.We pass beneath a towering ceremonial archway carved with ancient symbols, and the moment we step into the open square, the air hits me like a wave. The scent of roasted meat, honeyed pastries, and spices I can’t name swirl together, thick and intoxicating. Music pours from every corner—lively strings, rhythmic drums—and laughter dances on the breeze. Lanterns swing overhead, strung between buildings and stalls like stars caught in a web of fairy lights, each one glowing softly in the deepening dusk.My mouth falls open. “Wow…”Felicity smirks, clearly amused by my wide-eyed reaction. “It’s really something, huh?”“It’s… incredible.” I’m breathless.Children shriek with joy as they dart through the crowd, weaving between merchant stalls, their bare feet slapping against

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 36: Winning Them Over

Cora's POVBack in the pack house lounge, I collapse onto the couch, completely and utterly drained. The meeting replays in my mind like a broken record, each memory more exhausting than the last. I never wanted to be a source of tension in the Moongrove pack. And yet, somehow, I’ve managed to wedge myself right in the center of it all.No matter how I spin it, there’s no denying it—the argument between Elder Andrew and Jasper was because of me.I’m disrupting everything again.Ruining what’s supposed to be simple. Peaceful. All because I dared to want something. Why is there always a cost? Why does desire always have to come with consequences? Can’t I want something—anything—without tearing the world in half?I exhale sharply, my breath shaky as it leaves me. A wave of dizziness passes over me, and I sink deeper into the couch cushions. Maybe I’m just tired. Overwhelmed. There’s too much going on—too many thoughts vying for space in my already crowded mind. And the pregnancy… it’s dr

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 35: Delayed Ceremony

Cora's POVThe strategy meeting about attacking Snowcrest Pack went surprisingly smoothly. It didn’t take long for Jasper and the elders to reach a consensus. As Liam’s ex-Luna, I wasn’t sure if I even belonged in that room, but no one asked me to leave. Every now and then, Jasper would ask for my opinion, and I did my best to offer honest, thoughtful suggestions. It made me feel like I was actually becoming part of the Moongrove Pack—for real this time. But just as the meeting was about to wrap up, one of the elders—Elder Andrew—suddenly turned and looked straight at me.“Now that Luna Cora’s position has been made official, we need to hold the traditional Mating Ceremony,” he says. “Considering the rather… unusual… circumstances of your ascension to the position, I suggest that we schedule the attack on Alpha Liam and his pack after the ceremony–that way, we can use the Mating Ceremony to help solidify the unity and stability of our pack.” At the words Mating Ceremony, a sudden shi

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 34: Uneasy

Iris's POVI hate going to the hospital. I hate everything about it–I hate the smell, I hate the lights, I hate the stupid pre-portioned flavourless meals they serve us for “consistency.” I’ve spent more of my life in hospitals than I ever thought I’d need to, and it feels like it’s sapping away at me somehow. But today is my follow-up appointment, so what choice do I really have?“And in the absence of any concrete treatment plan…”Liam sits on the edge of the bed and holds my hand as the doctor gazes down at me in concern. The doctor continues to explain the specifics of my worsening condition and potential treatment routes, but I’ve heard so much medical jargon by now that it all just fades into background noise. This has been my life for months now. I’ve heard more than enough for a lifetime. As the doctor continues to speak, Liam looks increasingly worried, squeezing my hand reassuringly as though to try and check in. The stress of the situation's severity is evident on both L

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Baby, But He Loves My Twin   Chapter 33: Future Heir

Liam's POV“We’ve received a notice from the Moongrove pack, Alpha.” I hear Beta River’s voice in the doorway of my office and look up to see him leaning against the doorframe, clutching an envelope stamped with the official Moongrove seal. At the mere sight of anything associated with the Moongrove pack, my lip curls in distaste. “Bring it here,” I snap, holding out my hand expectantly. Beta River presents me with the envelope, and I can tell by the tension in his shoulders that he already knows whatever information it contains. And that it’s nothing good. I try to ignore the feeling of dread curling wickedly in the pit of my stomach, but it’s hard to just look past. When I read the words stamped across the Moongrove pack’s official notice, my blood runs cold. “What the fuck is this?” I shout, voice reverberating around the office space. I clench the paper in my hands almost like I’m trying to strangle it. My knuckles are white around the page. It’s taking every fiber of self
