IVY’S POV

When I opened my eyes again, the white hospital walls were gone.

I was lying in a huge, soft bed inside a grand room filled with gold trim and rich velvet curtains. Sunlight streamed through tall arched windows, painting warm patterns across the silk sheets. The space looked like something straight out of a fairy tale...far too big and fancy for my confused, foggy mind to wrap around.

The heavy wooden door creaked open, and a familiar face stepped inside.

“Hello, Ivy. How are you feeling this morning?” Doctor Rachel asked, smiling brightly as she approached my bed with a small metal tray.

I blinked against the light, my thoughts still slow and heavy. “I... I think I'm okay,” I mumbled, my voice raspy from sleep. “Just a little dizzy.”

“That’s completely normal,” she said softly, setting her tray on the bedside table. She leaned over and helped me sit up against a pile of plush velvet pillows. “Let’s get you comfortable first.”

She checked my pulse, wrapped a cool band around my arm to test my blood pressure, and shined a tiny light into my eyes.

“Physically, you’re recovering remarkably well,” Rachel explained, her fingers moving swiftly as she noted down numbers on her medical pad.

“Your body is healing nicely, your heart rate is stabilizing, and your blood pressure is finally coming down to a healthy range. But because your system went through such severe trauma, both you and the baby still need round-the-clock monitoring. Your Alpha insists on absolute perfection when it comes to your health, he has me checking your vitals four times a day!”

I looked down at the sheets, unsure of what to say.

Doctor Rachel chuckled, a fond warmth in her eyes as she adjusted my blanket. “Don’t mind him too much. Alphas get impossibly possessive when their mates are carrying. When I had my first child seven years ago, my own mate lost his mind! He wouldn’t let me leave the house for three months without a full squad of guards following two steps behind me. I couldn't even go to the bathroom in peace! I thought I was going to lose my mind!”

A tiny, weak smile touched my lips, but it faded as fast as it came. I listened quietly, but inside my head, the same agonizing question kept spinning. Why couldn't I remember anything?

I cleared my throat, my voice barely above a whisper. “What... what is his name?”

Doctor Rachel paused, her expression softening. “His name is Prince Leo.”

I swallowed hard, looking around the massive chamber with its towering marble columns and high ceilings. “And... this is his house?”

“Yes,” Rachel answered with gentle patience. “This is the Royal Palace. Leo is the Prince, and this is your home now. You are carrying his royal heir, Ivy.”

I placed my palm gently over my lower stomach. Beneath my skin, I felt a faint, warm flutter..like the tiny beat of a butterfly wing. A soft sigh escaped my lips. But the second I tried to remember how I got here, or who I was before waking up in this bed, a sharp, burning pain shot right behind my eyes. I winced, reaching up to touch my face. My fingertips brushed against the rough, raised lines of fading scars across my cheeks. My past was a blank, empty wall.

Doctor Rachel noticed the sudden sadness dropping over my face. She set her pad down and placed a warm, reassuring hand over mine.

“Hey, take a deep breath,” she urged kindly, her chatty tone softening into gentle care. “You have to be patient with yourself, Ivy. Neurological trauma takes time to mend. Your brain went through a massive shock, and when the body experiences severe stress, it puts up a protective wall to guard your mind while your physical frame recovers. If you rest, eat properly, and stick to your medication, the fog will clear. It’s just a matter of time.”

She reached for a small syringe on her tray and tapped the side of it with her index finger, clearing a tiny air bubble.

“Now, let’s get this dose in,” Rachel explained thoroughly, pointing to the clear fluid inside the glass tube. “This isn't anything harsh. It’s a concentrated blend of neuro-nutrients, iron, and gentle pain relief specifically designed for expecting mothers. It helps support your placenta, keeps your energy up, and stops those nasty tension headaches before they start.”

She signaled for me to give her my arm. I held it out, turning my head away as she wiped my skin with a cold alcohol swab and gently pushed the needle in.

As the cool medicine seeped into my vein, a heavy suspicion settled deep in my gut. I realized that despite all her long explanations about my blood pressure, my vitamins, my baby, and my mate, she had carefully danced around one major detail. No one had actually told me how I got hurt. They never mentioned what caused the deep bruises on my ribs or the scars on my face, or how I ended up bleeding in a hospital bed in the first place.

They were keeping secrets. They were hiding the truth from me.

I pulled my arm back and looked straight into her eyes, my voice trembling and small. "Doctor... what really happened to me? How did I end up in the hospital?"

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Child: Her Wolf Awakens    Chapter Twenty-Seven

IVY’S POVThe quiet hum of the laptop fan was the only sound echoing through Leo’s spacious study. I sat comfortably on the soft leather sofa, the computer resting on my lap as I casually scrolled through the local news and wolf-community blogs, looking for any updates on high-society fashion for the upcoming Apex Gathering. Then, my finger froze over the trackpad.Right at the top of the trending entertainment page was a high-resolution photograph taken just hours ago inside the Royal Palace lobby. It showed Leo standing in his crisp black suit, looking impossibly broad and handsome, while a strikingly breathtaking woman stood close to him. She was laughing, her manicured hand resting intimately on his forearm, leaning into his space as if she belonged there. The glaring headline above the photo read:"High-Society Lovebirds Reunite? Lady Celeste and Crown Prince Leo Spotted Sharing an Intimate Moment Ahead of the Apex Gathering!"A sudden, sharp wave of heat flared deep in my chest.

LEO’S POVThe east sunroom was draped in golden afternoon light, filtering through sprawling floor-to-ceiling glass archways. Steam rose lazily from a delicate porcelain tea set resting on a glass table. My mother, Queen Eleanor, sat in a velvet high-backed chair, her spine straight as a blade, her silver-threaded hair pinned into a flawless royal crown braid."Sit, Leo," she commanded softly, not bothering to lift her eyes from the silk tapestry she was embroidering.I didn't sit. I stood near the archway, resting one hand inside my coat pocket, feeling the small, velvet box containing Ivy's sapphire pendant against my palm. "Sir Desmond said you summoned me, Mother. I have a long drive back to my estate."Queen Eleanor set down her needle and finally looked up. Her cold, sharp amber eyes, so similar to my own scanned my face, searching for any sign of tiredness."I received word from the High Council this morning," she began, her tone measured, every word calculated. "Alpha Marcus A

LEO’S POV"He has lost his damned mind," I growled, slamming my palm down onto the heavy mahogany desk. The mahogany rattled under the force of my Alpha aura, sending a tremble through the glass bottle resting on the tray beside me.Beta Sam and my Delta, Mark, stood across from me in the sunlit study, both holding rigid, defensive postures."What gives Marcus Ashworth the absolute guts to demand her return?" I continued, my voice dangerously low, vibrating with a dark, suffocating rage. "After what they did to her? If I didn’t arrive on time she may have died. He threw her away like trash, and now he dares to send a formal high-court summons demanding his 'rogue ward' back for pack questioning?""Leo, He’s playing a game," Sam said calmly, though his jaw was tightly set. "Marcus is a ruthless political snake. He knows pack law gives an Alpha leverage over unbonded pack members. He knows it is enough to stir up trouble in the High Council. He wants something.""Or someone is pulling h

LEO’S POV"I have a meeting at the high palace today, my love," I said, setting my teacup down on the small plate. "I will leave soon, and I probably will not be back until late tonight."Across the table, Ivy stopped eating. Her dark eyes grew big, and a tiny, cute pout formed on her soft lips. The sad look on her face filled my chest with warm love.I could not help but laugh softly. She was so sweet."Do not worry, I will come back as fast as I can," I promised, giving her a gentle look.I turned to the butler standing by the door. "Tell the driver to bring the car to the front right now.""Yes, Your Highness," the butler bowed and left quickly.I finished my food, wiped my mouth with a napkin, and stood up. Ivy watched me as I walked around the table. I leaned down, held her soft cheek, and kissed her sweet lips. She gasped softly against my mouth, her sweet scent of strawberries filling the air around me.I wanted so badly to cancel my meetings and stay with her, but I forced mys

IVY’S POV"One, two, three. One, two, three," Doctor Rachel counted, clapping her hands to the slow sound of the metronome on the table. "Keep your back straight, Ivy! Keep your head up and relax your shoulders!"Sweat was wet on the back of my neck as I tried not to trip over my long dress. My maid, Lucy, was playing the role of my dance partner, holding her hands out to pretend she was a big Alpha man. Every time I stepped forward, I accidentally stepped on Lucy’s toe."I am so sorry, Lucy!" I squeaked, stopping immediately and hiding my face in my hands."Oh, please do not worry, Lady Ivy!" Lucy laughed, smoothing down her apron. "My feet have seen much worse than your soft shoes, I promise."Doctor Rachel put down her paper board and walked over, handing me a cool, wet towel. "Take a deep breath, Ivy. Your whole body is stiff as a board. Royal dancing is not supposed to be a hard march. It should look easy, like you are floating across the floor on a cloud.""It does not feel like

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Child: Her Wolf Awakens    Chapter Twenty-Two

IVY’S POVI didn’t know the movie I chose was this erotic.Leo was sitting a little distance away from me on the large living room couch. Since the movie started, he had not said a single word. I had read the quick synopsis earlier and picked what was supposed to be a funny action film, but I certainly didn't expect it to have any explicit scenes. I desperately hoped it wouldn't last long.I tried focusing on the screen, but I felt my face instantly heat up as I watched the male lead lift the female character into his arms and carry her aggressively toward the bed.I turned to look at Leo, only to find that he was already looking at me.My cheeks burned fiercely, and I quickly turned away, staring back at the screen. I gasped in shock as the male character began removing her clothes right there. This was getting so much worse.A low, deep chuckle echoed beside me."You didn’t know when you chose the movie, right?" Leo asked, his voice filled with amusement.I buried my face in my hand
