Chapter 18 The Visitors

Selene’s POV

“Desmond, what a nice surprise.” My father says as he stands from his chair, welcoming Desmond to join us in the sitting room. Desmond’s eyes shift from mine to my father before his lips pull into a small smile.

“Evening Mr. Delray.” Desmond responds politely.

“Oh, there’s no need for formalities here.” Dad waves Desmond into the room. “Please, join us. You remember Pierre?” Dad reintroduces as Pierre stands to shake Desmond’s hand.

“Nice to make your acquaintance again.” Pierre tells him before sitting back on the couch, making room for Desmond to sit next to him.

“You too.” Desmond says before looking back to my father.

“We were just enjoying Selene playing the piano for us. You remember how talented she is, right.”

“Of course, I remember.” He agrees, shooting me a warm smile.

“She is practically a prodigy. She surpassed everyone in her age bracket, and three of her instructors.” My father gloats. Sitting back in his chair as he gestures for Desmond to sit.
