Chapter 4

I pressed the stop button on the camera.

My fingers flew across the phone screen, sending a text to Maya: "Got the evidence. They kissed."

After sending the message, I looked back out the window.

Down on the beach, Atlas and Beatrix had thrown on their towels and were walking into the villa, arms wrapped around each other.

Beatrix’s eyes were full of lust, her fingers tracing Atlas’s bobbing Adam's apple.

"That was so close. I really thought I was going to lose you," she purred, leaning against his chest.

Atlas gripped her waist tightly, his voice hoarse with a deep affection I had never heard before. "Don't say stupid things. If anything happened to you, my life wouldn't be worth living."

My stomach churned in disgust.

His friends erupted into another round of sleazy cheers.

"Alright, Atlas, stop rubbing it in our faces!"

"Yeah! Hurry up and take your sweetheart up to the penthouse for some relaxation!"

Amidst the cheering, the two of them walked openly toward the elevator leading to the top-floor suite.

I stared at the camera, my mind drifting.

I remembered our bonding ceremony seven years ago. I had been so radiant, brimming with hope.

The girl I was back then never could have imagined she'd end up stalking her mate just to film him screwing another woman.

Hilarious.

But it was time to face reality.

Why should I forfeit what's rightfully mine to protect his precious reputation?

I meticulously set this trap—the tracker, the stakeout, the camera. It was all leading up to this.

If watching from afar wasn't enough, I'd just have to kick the damn door down.

I grabbed the micro-camera, pinned it to my collar, and stormed out of the room.

I was going to strip Atlas of everything.

I crossed the street, walked straight into the luxury villa, and hit the button for the top floor.

The elevator doors opened to the penthouse hallway.

Before I could take a step, I bumped right into one of Atlas's friends and two massive bodyguards.

"Well, look who it is, our Luna," the friend mocked loudly, blocking my way. "Atlas is a little busy right now. You can't go in there."

"Get out of my way," I said coldly.

"Don't push your luck, bitch!" he sneered, signaling the guards. "Grab her!"

A bodyguard immediately stepped forward, reaching out to grab my shoulder.

I didn't even try to dodge.

I whipped my leg up, driving the sharp heel of my stiletto ruthlessly into his kneecap.

With a blood-curdling scream, the two-meter-tall guard crashed to the floor.

Without missing a beat, I let my Luna aura explode outwards. The air in the hallway instantly felt heavy and suffocating.

The friend and the remaining guard turned pale, forced back by the sheer pressure, their legs shaking.

"Whoever tries to stop me next," I declared, staring at them with murderous intent, "will die today."

No one dared make a sound.

Stepping over the groaning guard, I walked straight to the suite at the end of the hall.

Even through the heavy doors, I could clearly hear the noises inside.

Heavy, animalistic panting, mixed with a woman’s sweet, sticky moans.

My heart clenched, a long, dull ache spreading through my chest.

In seven years of marriage, Atlas was always extremely restrained in bed. He almost never lost control.

The only two times he did, he had nearly broken me.

Only later did I realize that on both of those nights, his jacket smelled of Beatrix’s favorite perfume.

How pathetic.

I raised my hand and slammed my fist against the door with all my might.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

The sound echoed down the hall.

The noises inside stopped instantly.

Then came Beatrix's furious voice. "Who is it?! Do you have a death wish?!"

I ignored her and kept pounding on the door.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

"Like a damn ghost!" I heard Atlas’s heavy, irritated footsteps stomping toward the door.

The lock clicked.

The door swung open violently.

Atlas stood there, a bathrobe loosely thrown over his shoulders, his face twisted in fury.

But the second he saw my face...

His irritation froze. His face went deathly pale.

"Cora..." His eyes widened in absolute horror. "What are you doing here?!"
