The ocean waves crashed gently against the shore, and the last rays of the sun bathed the beach in golden light.

A group of youngsters was completely immersed in the joy of the moment — dancing to the beat of the music, hair flying in the cool breeze, and laughter echoing in every direction.

The boys and girls were all dressed in stylish beachwear — some in floral shirts, others in boho bikinis, and a few capturing I*******m stories in sunglasses and straw hats.

Off to the side, a wooden table was set in the sand, where four or five glamorous girls sat, sipping cocktails. The sunlight glimmered on their glowing faces, and soft smiles curved on their lips.

One of the girls took a sip from her straw and whispered,
“Do you think he’ll finally speak his heart today?”

Amid all the noise and excitement, the music suddenly dimmed, and in the glow of the fairy lights strung across the beach, everything seemed to pause.

The wind slowed, the waves quieted — as if the ocean itself leaned in to listen.

And in that stillness, Rex strummed his guitar.

A slow, soft, soul-touching melody began…

His lips parted, and he started singing — a raw tenderness in his voice, every word pouring straight from his heart.

The girls were no longer just fans… it was as if they were spellbound in a living dream.

Lily’s breath caught.

A subtle shimmer of tears danced in her hazel eyes.

She whispered, “It’s really happening…”

With every string he plucked, memories played like a movie in her mind — their first meeting, the spark in his eyes, and now… this moment where he was singing for her, in front of everyone.

As the song neared its end, Rex’s eyes locked with Lily’s.

A small smile played on his lips as he said softly,
“This one… is for you.”

The beach erupted in applause and cheers — but for Lily, in that moment, the world faded away.

There was only him — the boy who had just poured his heart out in front of everyone. You feel like my sunshine, in skies I don’t own
You're nothing that's mine… but still feel like home
What did you do, how did you steal
The calm in my soul that I used to feel?

Rex stood from the stool, the guitar still in his hands.

His steps began to trace slowly through the sand, making his way directly to Lily.

Her heartbeat raced.

The cocktail glass in her hand had gone still.

The world blurred into a soft background — just her and Rex in sharp focus.

Still singing, Rex circled her table with a soft smile.

Each line, each note… it was as though he was singing to her very soul.

I know you’re not mine, still you feel so true
Like mornings are brighter just looking at you...

(Chorus)
You’re not mine… yet you feel like you are
Like the wish I made upon a falling star
You’re not mine… but you fit in my dreams
Like a silent song flowing in my streams

The final chords of the song still lingered in the air.

Even the waves seemed to nod in quiet agreement with the feelings that hung between them.

Rex set his guitar aside.

His stormy grey eyes held the weight of the universe — deep, vulnerable, and brimming with love.

He dropped to one knee in front of Lily.

His voice trembled like a heart overflowing —

The waves had calmed, and a blanket of stars now spread across the sky.

The beach lights had dimmed, but a new glow had awakened in their hearts.

Rex’s hands gently rested on Lily’s waist, and her palms were pressed against his strong chest — as though her heartbeat now followed his rhythm.

Slowly, he pulled her into his arms — like someone holding the most precious thing in the world.

Lily buried her face into the crook of his neck, her breath warm against his skin.

Moments later, the two of them left the sand and walked toward a wooden cottage.

Inside, the room glowed with the gentle flicker of candles.

Rex sat her down softly on the bed — careful, tender, as if not to wake a dream.

He knelt before her, cupping her cheeks in his hands, and asked in the truest voice she had ever heard —
“Lily… do you really want to be a part of my life?”

Lily looked into his eyes — said nothing at first.

Then a quiet, radiant smile spread across her lips.

She nodded and whispered —
“Yes, Rex. Ask me a hundred times… my answer will always be the same.”

The glow in her eyes stirred a storm inside Rex  a storm made entirely of love.

Without another word…

He leaned in and placed his lips on hers.

A kiss — long, deep, and honest.

A moment where words were unnecessary.

Where only their hearts spoke.

The first touch of Lily and Rex’s lips slowly deepened into a tender, emotional kiss.

Every moment between them felt like it was halting time itself.

Still kissing her, Rex gently laid Lily down on the bed — softly, lovingly.

Every movement, every brush of his hand told her she wasn’t just his… she was his entire world.

His lips moved to her neck —

slowly, with a warmth that reached deep into her soul.

He lingered at her collarbone, where her breath trembled lightly,

and then kissed his way downward —

soft, loving kisses across her delicate skin,

everywhere her heartbeat grew faster.

Lily closed her eyes,

her fingers sliding along Rex’s back,

as if trying to feel every second —

as if this were no dream, but a reality pulling her into its embrace.

In that silence, only their breaths spoke — warm, restless, and lost in each other.

Morning light filtered softly through the window,

filling the room with golden rays.

Every corner whispered of the night before —

clothes scattered on the floor, a few flower petals on the bed,

and beneath the blanket, two bodies… but one heart.

Lily lay in Rex’s arms,

her hair spread across his shoulder.

A sunbeam kissed their eyes and slowly, they opened them.

Looking at her with a sleepy smile, Rex whispered,
"Will you marry me, Lily?"

Lily pouted slightly and replied,
"I didn’t do all this with you for fun, mister. I did it with the intention of marriage, got it?"

Rex laughed.
"Then let’s do it today. The documents are ready... we just need to sign at the marriage registrar’s office."

Lily sat up with surprise, her face lighting up —
"Really, Rex? Today?"

As she rose, the blanket slipped slightly,

and Rex’s gaze lingered on her body.

Lily quickly pulled the blanket up, narrowed her eyes and said,
"That’s for after the wedding… understood?"

Rex smiled and stepped closer, placing his hand gently on her neck and a soft kiss on her forehead.

"Don’t forget, sweetheart… today is our wedding — and tonight is our wedding night."

Lily’s cheeks flushed pink.

She smiled, but Rex teased her again —

"Don’t blush now, Lily… save that for tonight.

Because I’ve got a surprise for you —

and not a little one… a big one."

Her face lit up with joy —
"Really? I love surprises!"

She jumped up quickly, grabbed Rex’s shirt from the floor, slipped it on with a grin, and walked into the bathroom.

Later that afternoon...

Church bells rang in the distance.

White flowers adorned the walls, candlelight flickered softly,

and the guests seated on the benches had their eyes fixed on the door.

The scent of lavender lingered in the air,

and the old church walls seemed to become a part of a fairy tale.

Rex stood at the altar in a sharp black suit and white tie.

His eyes were locked on the doors —

because from there, his entire life was about to walk in.

The doors opened… and Lily walked in.

She looked like an angel in her white wedding gown.

A soft veil covered her face, but her smile shone right through it.

With each step, her heart seemed to draw closer to Rex’s.

Tears welled up in Rex’s eyes.
“She’s really mine,” he thought.

As Lily reached him and gently took his hand, silence fell over the church.

The priest’s voice echoed —
“Do you, Rex, take Lily to be your lawfully wedded wife…”

Without hesitation, Rex said,
“I do.”

Then came Lily’s turn. She smiled,

and in her eyes danced the story of all the years, the struggles, and the love that had brought them here.
“I do.”

And as they kissed, the church bells rang once more.

Applause erupted, tears of joy shimmered,

and a magical new beginning began —

Lily and Rex were no longer just lovers…

they were husband and wife.

The room echoed with claps — cheers from friends, camera flashes, and hearts brimming with joy.

Moments later, the couple stepped out of the registrar's office —

A luxurious red car waited for them outside, gleaming under the sunlight.

They both settled into the front seats, with Rex behind the wheel.

The car moved along a deserted road — surrounded by trees, soft sunlight, and silence.

Lily leaned toward Rex, gently brushing her lips against his cheek, and asked in a playful tone,

"Come on, tell me now… what's the surprise, Rex? I’ve been asking you since morning!"

Rex smiled —

He set the car to auto mode, unbuckled Lily’s seatbelt, and pulled her into his lap.

Startled, Lily whispered,

"Rex… what are you doing? We’re on the road… what if someone sees us?"

Rex placed a finger on her soft pink lips —

"Shhh… we’re husband and wife now.

We don’t need to fear anyone anymore.

You’re mine now… only mine."

And then, he leaned in and kissed her lips — deep, intense, and full of longing.

Lily’s fluttering eyelashes answered him —

And they lost themselves in each other… completely.

The car continued on auto-drive, the road still calm —

But the very next moment…
CRASH!

A speeding truck came out of nowhere and slammed into the car.

Everything happened in a single heartbeat.

A scream tore through the air —

“Ahh…!”

And then… silence.

Shattered glass sparkled across the road…

A moment that had just felt like heaven — now turned into a haunting question.

1. Do you think Rex should have revealed the surprise earlier, or was his romantic secrecy justified despite the risks? 2. If you were in Lily’s place, would you have been more cautious on that lonely road — or would love have made you let go, just like her?
