Faith had been right that I would regret not going after Evangeline, but as I crossed the border to Cain’s pack with my group of volunteers, I was furious.

I shouldn't be here right now. My mate was back at home with my injured sister and Beta, and an undead King who hadn’t emerged from his room yet by the time I left, and I was anxious to leave Faith alone with him.

I didn’t know what kind of man he was, but he had killed multiple Alphas without raising a single finger, and I didn’t know how much control he had over that power.

If he got too angry, would he snap and kill others? Was my pack safe with him there, or had I put them all at risk by leaving?

Worse, what if I came back to find that I no longer had a pack? We had all been descendants of the people who had fled his kingdom. Technically, the pack was his still since no one had challenged him, and really… no one could.

Evangeline, girly, why did you bring the baby back to life? Also if she and the baby do runaway I need a whole story on them, becuase that would be so interesting. Like how they survive this kind of world!
