I squeezed my eyes tightly and tilted my head to one side, preparing myself for the blow.

And boom!

I was waiting for the bullet to hit me but it never came. My chest that was heavily heaving up and down in anticipation came to a halt. Absentmindedly, my hand roused up to check my heart and it was still beating.

Abruptly my eyes shot open when I heard a loud painful groan and the color of my face drained as my vision cleared and the scene unfolded in front of me.

I didn't get the shot because Xaphan came in between me. He saved me from the bullet and injured himself.

A loud gasp escaped my throat when my brain registered the things. He falls to his knees with a loud painful groan and his palm wrapped around his injured bicep.

"XAPHAN!" I screame
