‘I do not have all day, Sarah. Hurry up!’ The screechy voice of my superbly ugly monstrous boss brings me back to the present. It breaks my heart to realise that I have yet to avenge my husband's death and the fall of my country and all the glorious days of unacceptable miseries I have spent in these shabby clothes. It enrages me to accept that it has been more than three years and I have yet to taste my worst enemy’s blood.

I am not a blood-sucking Dracula or a distant cousin for that matter, you bitch. Ella hisses irritatingly, piquing me like none other.

I ignore her, inhaling and exhaling a couple of times. Have I mentioned I have got a snake garbage for Nagin with whom I share my body 24/7? If not, I have told you now. So, kindly or not, bear with me because we ain’t have a choice.

‘Ya don't wanna gech ya’r sal’ry. I’ee!’

Oh, somebody please, stuff melting lava in his stinking mouth already. I don’t understand how his ten—something mate tolerates him anywhere near them. How can they let a wolf with a disastrously stinking breath kiss them?

Maybe they don’t.

He has twenty pups, Ella. How the hell is it possible?

For which he might have used that thing dangling between his legs and not his lips.

That! We will have to go and ask them!

‘Sarah! Do ya want me to mark ya’r unwill’gness?’

‘Coming!’

I blink myself out of the daze and scurry off to the shabby office. My heart pounds loud and clear in my chest at the mere thought of him.

Why don’t you look at his profile instead? We hardly know how he looks. Ella mumbles in a whisper, making my foot come to a halt in an instant again. When he is almost everywhere.

The three years of hardship, pain, frustration, and absolute bullshit flash before my eyes. Anger pulsates in my veins. I ball my fist to refrain from the obvious shaking.

‘I cannot.’ I sneer. ‘I don’t want to. I don’t know what I would do once I see the horrendous face behind my downfall. I may lose it all. I don’t know what I would end up doing anyways.’

How are we gonna go with this avenge thing anyways? You never told me what we are after anyways. Do you have a plan?

‘I may or may not. I may be late, but I am not defeated. Tomorrow’s sun will witness a new glory of vengeance and hate.’ I mumble to myself then to Ella as I straightened my shoulders before walking into this dumb’s den aka his barely-there office to collect enough to afford a sandwich for a week. This is what it has been all along…making the end meet.

‘I am coming to get you, Alpha Ibhaan. It is unfinished.’ The words imprint themselves on the wall of my head. It has been my affirmation like a motive I have survived for. ‘I won’t forgive you for what you have made me go through.’ I put a fake smile on my red-painted lips and greet the wolf who never looks me in the eye.

Because he always looks at our breasts. For the worst, Ella reminds me.

‘There you're…my favou’te slut.’ Jared shamelessly grins at me, putting the most disgusting set of yellow teeth on the display. ‘Eeday to collect ya’r tarr’fs!’

‘Hello, there! Motherfucker.’ I flashed him a sarcastic smile, waiting impatiently for the girls to barge in before I lose my shit and end up doing something I most definitely won’t regret putting all over the news.

Who does he think he was calling a slut? I am a fucking empress, you nincompoop. Ella hisses, rising. It might have been three fucking years since she has been last out but she is an empress cobra. Lack of practice might have rubbed it off on her skills. Poor skills those may be but she has got all of them.

‘Ya! Watch ya'r tone if ya wanna stay put. Ya’re doomed. You bitch!’ The swine snarled, slamming his grotesque paws on the table. The table groans in discomfort, spilling pens all over it. The water glass, being immune to the assault, stays put.

Impressive! Kudos to the glass but this…this punk.

‘Well. Well. Well. Do I look like a fragile, naive fuck toy of yours to care about your spineless threats? Do you think you can go on calling us sluts, whore, and making attempts to get in our pants at every chance you get and not getting any of your bullshits in return? You think it's only you who have got balls, huh?’ I jab a finger in his ribs, practically shivering with anger.

My fists itch to slam on his face. I want to dip my fangs in his neck. I desperately want to put my venom canal to some use.

I curse the bastard I have had visions about AKA the big-dick Alpha for my worst of mood swings. Remembering his faceless presence only accelerated my anger. If I could, I would have killed him in a flash. I hate his over-smart warriors of protection forces, the Taksh Pack, and his existence all along.

‘Ya hoe! Ya forgot I am ya'r boss. I'm gonna kick ya off.’ I see I have finally managed to get on this old rat's nerves. Well, hilarious, isn't it?

He grabs me by the collar, summoning his death. My hands itch to grab him by the neck and shuffle him in the air until his soul leaves his body.

I race my hands towards the target. My body vibrates with anger and Ella persists in taking over.

Let me out, Ellizian. I want to show him what he got himself into. Putting hands on an empress. He wishes for nothing but death. Ella hisses as she tries to take over. She commands my cooperation but I still have some of my sanity left.

The office is under surveillance, El. We cannot–

I don’t care. I just want to gallop his corpse. He is a lump of dead meat. Goddamit, bitch let me out!

My veins illuminate with a golden shimmer, scutes appear on my neck, collarbone, forearms, and head. My eyes might have picked up a shade of bright golden–giving away the pretence I have been putting on all along.

Damn! The disguise.

Jared opens his mouth and closes it like a fish out of water. His wolf growls. ‘Ya! Ya!’ He gapes, stumbling back on a couch. He rolls over to the other side and drops to the ground with a thud.

‘Ya’re–’

‘A serpent. Yeah, we are, you toothless useless son of a bitch.’ Sierra barges, slamming the door so loud, it makes the wooden chamber squeak. Julie and Lily are next to follow. All of them look as pissed off as I am.

‘And not any serpent. You are seeing the royals.’ Julie puts her hands in her pocket, glaring at the now pale wolf on his knees. His wide eyes shifts from face to face and rests upon mine.

‘She is the Empress. Empress Ellizian. Ella, the one peeping through her illuminating bright eyes, is our magnificent, elegant royal cobra. Lizzian is her highness. You punk!’ She kicks him on the ground, following my introduction.

‘Ugh!’

‘The one who has gracious kicked you just now is the wife of Serpent General Late Arpit Singh. Meet, Juliana Singh. You might have already got it. Ana is drop dead stunning blue snake. She specialises in water battles.’ Sierra chuckles bitterly.

Moving forward to pull a big chunk of his dirty hair. ‘And the one’s back you have had felt in there,’ She trails a finger down his cheeks to collarbone. She feels his round pouch with her palms, going down and down and down. There!

She squeezes his balls. In the meantime, Julie chokes his mouth, muffling the ear-piercing scream of pain. Ouch! How exhilarating it is! ‘Is Sierra William, Queen Sierra William James. Only mate of King William James. A seducing beauty with a golden venomous guardian angle…’ Bowing down, she whispers in his ear and the game begins.

  • Chaitali: The Saga begins   Epilogue: Rise Of A NEW Chapter

Did I follow the instructions and stayed glued to my spot like a little sweet girl? Well, to answer it…Has the earth turned upside down and the wolves become vegetarian? Have the Draculas stopped sucking blood and have witches become even a cent lesser annoying crapping rainbow? Has the moon wobbled its way to become a satellite of Mercury instead because it can’t absolutely tolerate the face of the earth and the faces residing on it? Nope. Nix. Naah. Nada. None of the sorts happened. Then would it not be a great offense if I stayed put on the spot near the itchy, annoying bushes that shiver for no apparent reason while whining amorous sounds loudly pleading for more and deeper? Don’t ask me why? I neither have the answer nor wish to peep around the bushes to figure it out because I already know and so do you. It simply does not make any sense to me. Why would somebody want to do it in the open? Since when snakes have become so rakeless and bold? Does it to you? Perverts

  • Chaitali: The Saga begins   Silence Before The Storm

Lizzy's Head:The sunrise is dazzling as the Alpha and I walk hand-in-hand along the seashore to meet the informer at the designated spot for the meeting.Dhariya is alive. Of course he’d be. Bitches don’t die that easily. The moment I heard all about it. I have been numb as if somebody had pushed me a tank full of iced water and closed the opening shut. It’s suffocating and vaguely overwhelming. All this while he had been alive yet he made no efforts to find me. What a son of a bitch!? A slow breeze flirts with my blonde tresses, sending them flying everywhere to the north. ‘He must be here any minute now.’ Ibhaan mumbles, checking his smartwatch for the seventh time. He leaves my palm and rubs it all over his arms. Ibhaan hasn’t been himself for my Lord knows how long! I couldn’t understand how he’d been dealing with the admin, especially after knowing his worst enemy and his wife is breathing anywhere near him. How had he reacted when he’d known his Luna to be someone who h

  • Chaitali: The Saga begins   Minutes

‘Emperor Dhairya is alive.’ I was told and surprisingly, I don’t care. I know it’s the worst news to know that your worst enemy (the Chatali’s worst enemy maybe) is breathing, seething, and ready to attack yet my mind cooks up better content to focus on. ‘Alpha, how was the meeting with the Lycan?’ Kavish asked me as soon as I walked in. To my utmost dismay, he was not sitting alone. The ‘Bastards Of Chaitali’ were already there with him. Munching on my snacks and chatting animatedly about some irrelevant and probably very stupid current affair. I had entered my study with such anger and irritation that Kavish preferred to be quiet but the ‘Bastards’ did not. I knew even with Kavish the peace will be short-lived. Being the Beta of the Taksh Pack, he had to gather courage and ask his Alpha, aka me, about the meeting so he could instruct his new favorite Himanshu to record it in the miserable book of Minutes. It’s not casual when the Lycan summons someone at urgent notice including

  • Chaitali: The Saga begins   Familiar Voices

‘He said that?’ The familiar voice gasps in astonishment. It has to be a response to something the other soft mumble has said. And I’ve heard it before. ‘Yes.’ The aforementioned one, reply. Its punctuation is shaken a bit. I could tell it was said with a nod at another moment. ‘I would not have believed it if it were not for my own ears. It was Alpha Ibhaan and Alpha of that...I don't remember the name but he was a wolf from some pack. I saw him at Huine’s party. A whore for a wolf, I am telling you...he tried to hit on me. I cannot even tell you the thing he asked. He...he...I think we are doing it for nothing. This cannot happen. Wolves and ser-’‘It must!’ The familiar voice is firm with determination. She is not very pleased with what has ever been told to her. On anything, it was very upset as if it had been gravely offended. ‘I don’t care if he did something so...ugh! I don’t care. It is none of my business. What matters...what matters is that he does not get to know it until

  • Chaitali: The Saga begins   Friends In The House

‘They are coming?’ I informed my mate, forgetting all about Suzan in a moment. ‘Who?’ She grumbled irritatedly. Her mood swings have become a fresh concern but I’d rather ignore them. ‘My friends.’ I told her. And there were the last words we’d exchanged before my friends arrived in the Empire. In the evening, when they finally came—‘Come out, Bastard. I’m waiting.’ I inform my friend, Adrian on the phone after I park my car outside his hotel. I just do not feel like going inside to pick him up and go through the security scrutiny for that rascal. After all, he is the shitty piece of werewolf ever inhabiting the plant. ‘Coming.’ I growl into the phone and I do not need a gypsy to interpret his adventurous night in the mystical land. ‘You asshole, you did not get up yet. Did you?’ I clutch the steering wheel tighter, gritting my teeth. I knew it. I knew it was a bad idea. What was I even thinking in the first place? It is Sunday morning, and we have to go inspect some facts to r

  • Chaitali: The Saga begins   Dear Suzan

It somehow personifies the restless deep with me. I’m careless of the uncertainity of future or of what would become of my territory and the Empire or whether I’d be recognized as a Lycan, or whether my mate truly is an Empress in disguise that is, if she is—I’d be tantalized at the turns of events for it’s nearly impossible for destiny to be so on point. Very often my own thoughts surpise me! I couldn’t believe never once I thought of what might have actually become of Arin and whether the captured Serpent knows anything for whom my mate is ready to wage war. ‘She knows something.’ Kavish had recently grumbled his annoyance. ‘It’s just that she is so devoted towards her mistress and the Empire that she’d rather die. And I fear their Emperor ain’t dead too.’ And from that day on, there is always a new revelation concerning the Empire and its rulers. Some even claimed that they had spotted Emperor Dhairya lurking around and I all but want to giggle like a school girl at their excl
