Chapter 2

Isabella POV

"Alright! I have some questions for you. Shall I ask?" he tilted his head slightly and a strand of his brown hair fell on his face which was kinda.. hot.

"Miss White?" he snapped his fingers at me and I nodded, coming back to reality.

"Yes sir?"

"Don't let your mind wander around." he stated amused and I nodded again, smiling coyly.

"Okay, so you've grown up from a wealthy family in Bradford and yet you chose this job. May I know why?" he questioned, placing his entwined hands on the table.

"Actually, 'Do what you like. Don't give a crap about what others say.' said by my dad and he has faced many problems to get his dream job and now he's a wild life photographer and achieved many international awards." I told somehow proudly and as the billionaire listened to me tapping his fingers on the table, I continued.

"So I too became as a babysitter which is my favourite job since I was like.. a teenager? Well, I don't know but now I'm running a daycare in my city with my cousin." I informed and looked at him, waiting for his reply.

"Sounds wonderful! How long have you been running that daycare?" he questioned leaning closer.

"The daycare building was presented to me on my 25th birthday by my dad so almost.. I've been running the daycare for three years." I answered and he nodded slowly.

"Right. But why do you like babysitting?" he asked, raising his eyebrow.

"I love kids and I always have. Because in my opinion, no one can make me happy as much as they do." I replied cheerfully and he chuckled lightly.

"Well, I agree. Though if you love kids, you could wish to be a preschool teacher or there are so many jobs like that but why did you choose to be a babysitter specifically?" he questioned which made me roll my eyes mentally.

Did he read any books and memorise these types of questions to make it harder than it already is?

"True! but we are the only ones who take care of them like a mom and love them like a mom when they couldn't be able to get the love from by their real parents." I stated and I could see his stern face replaced into an unreadable expression. "Uh, I'm sorry if I offend you."

"No! No, you're right." he said, clearing his throat.

"Actually what I meant was, the kids who didn't get much love deserve the best love." I clarified and he nodded before speaking.

"So.. you have come here without anyone's persuasion and you are doing this because you love your job. Am I right?" he questioned and I nodded.

"Yes sir."

"Great miss White! My daughter name is Chloe Roberts who's only five. As I'm a busy man there's no one to take care of her, that's why I'm hiring a babysitter." he started to explain and I listened to him carefully.

"From tomorrow onwards, you're the one who's going to babysit my daughter and my P.A will give you the schedule of your work time and further details regarding the job." he finished and my lips parted slighlty.

"Well sir.. so am I selected?" I asked cautiously.

"Of course yes! I'm very pleased with your answers and eventhough you're only the fourth person I'm interviewing and still more out there, you know why I hired you?" he questioned and I shook my head.

"Because most of the people would've applied for this job for the money. But as you're from a wealthy family and still chose to be a nanny to a stranger's kid, I can already tell that you're the perfect one for this position." he announced and I smiled coyly not knowing what to reply.

"So miss White-"

"Oh sir, you can call me by my name!" I interuppted and he chuckled waving his hand in 'whatever' gesture.

"Fine, Isabella, tell me something about the negative personality traits of yours." he said causally and I straightened myself before answering.

"Well.. I'm really sensitive and sometimes I can't control my emotions. The emotional-me would not care about anyone or anything." I told truthfully and he shook his index finger back and forth at me.

"Uh-uh.. that won't work here. You must have to control your emotions and there are some rules and regulations before you sign for this job." he provided, crossing his leg one over the other.

As I kept quiet he continued. "Rule number one, you can't swear infront of my daughter. " he stated and I frowned.

"I don't swear. I mean, never."

"Oh?" he smirked, nodding his head more to himself. "Great. Rule number two, you have to spend your leisure time with my daughter and you can't do anything as your hobby other than babysitting my daughter so you aren't allowed to use any social media stuffs. Plus, you can call whoever you want only once in a week with my permission." he said and his second rule made me frown again.

How could I stay without talking with my mom, dad and Trevor? It's really hard for me.

"What? Once in a week? With your permission? That's not fair." I argued.

"Rule number three, I'm your boss and you can't question your boss! You just want to obey him and do what he says. If not, say a goodbye and leave this place. We don't mind at all." he told so calmly and I resisted the urge of huffing loudly. "If you are okay with all these, you can sign on these papers." he concluded grabbing a file from his drawer and handing them to me.

I sighed inaudibly before opening it and saw many passages that have written by random alphabetical letters.

"I'm fine with your rules, sir." I stated firmly and signed everywhere he pointed, without reading them. I mean, who would?

When the formalities were over he stood up extending his hand to me and finally introduced himself. "Welcome miss Isabella White. I'm Christian Roberts. Founder of the Roberts & Companies."

No wonder why he's a billionaire!

"Isabella.." he called me, trying to study my reaction.

"Oh.. it's nice meeting you, sir!" I almost squeaked, standing up and shook his hand which sent electricity to all over my veins. What's up with me and these strange feelings?

"You can call me Christian." he told, withdrawing his hand and his statement caught me off guard as I shook my head.

"No, sir. It'd be-"

"Alright. Then call me by my name when we are alone and call me sir when we are around with the people. Because technically you're not my employee." he said.

"Uh.. yeah, okay Christian." I nodded looking at his sea-green eyes and I could see his corner of lips twisted into a smirk.

For some strange reason, when I say his name I

don't feel awkward. At all.

Then he guided me to his daughter's room and the silence in the elevator between us wasn't seemed to be uncomfortable. I just watched my reflection through the elevator doors while Christian was typing something on his phone.

When we reached the first floor, the doors opened letting us go outside and he went first making me follow him behind. Hayden, his personal assistant, was nowhere to be seen so we entered into a room where Christian twisted the door knob and opened the door slowly.

As soon as we got inside, the pink colour hit my eyes immediately. The room was full of dolls and Barbie's accessories. When I walked further inside, I saw a little girl sleeping on the twin-sized bed. She looks a like Barbie too.

Without any doubt, we could easily say she was bearing a strong resemblance to his father but oddly she had light blonde hair while Christian had dark brown hair.

Maybe she got the hair gene from her mom.

Christian sat on the edge of the bed beside her and stroked her hair. I stood behind him and cooed. "She's so beautiful."

"She is." he muttered, smiling faintly without taking his gaze off of her.

Then he grabbed the doll that laid on the floor and placed it beside her before standing up.

He whispered, "Let's go."

I nodded and followed him as he made his way to outside. "I'll introduce you to her tomorrow as she was sleeping now." he informed, closing the door slowly trying not to make any sound.

"That's no problem.. by the way I didn't get to meet your wife." I said and his jaw clenched as he shot me a stern glare.

"And you never will." he hissed and I swallowed the lump in my throat nervously.

"Uh, I'm sorry, sir." I apologised regretting for what I said.

He ignored my apology and marched towards the elevator and pressed the button multiple times and when it didn't open instantly, he kicked the door furiously.

"Fuck!" he yelled at the door for no reason and all the guards circled him in no time.

When the elevator was about to open, he muttered to one of his guards, "Show her the room."

The guard nodded and without sparing any glance, he disappeared from our sight.

Whats up with this guy!
