Chapter Seven - Chantelle's Fear

Chantelle looked at Delcan, her heart racing. She had been hurt by her uncle and he's still hurting her, and she was wary of strangers. She didn't know if she could trust him, and she was afraid of what he might do. But there was something about him that drew her in, and she couldn't help but feel a connection. She wasn't sure what to do, but she knew she had to get away from him. Chantelle said No to him and turned to leave, but Delcan reached out and grabbed her arm. "Wait!" he said. Chantelle pulled away, her eyes wide. "Let go of me!" she shouted. Delcan was taken aback by her reaction. He had only wanted to talk to her, to explain himself. But he could see that he had scared her, and he let go of her arm. Chantelle ran out of the coffee shop, and Delcan was left alone, wondering what he has done wrong.
