Jessica's POV

"Let's stop arguing, Jessica. Go home and put our house back together again, okay? I'll pretend I never saw this divorce agreement," Zander said, looking at me with the same tenderness as before.

There was a slight smile on his lips.

I had once found his smile deadly sexy, but now I found it bitterly ironic.

"Zander, you're pathetic," I said, looking at him sympathetically.

His smile disappeared and he suppressed his anger and said in a low voice, "Even if you're my wife, you should watch your words. Stop provoking me."

"In fact, I have decided to give up the title of Mrs. Harrison," I said, spreading my hands and shrugging.

Approaching him, I picked up the divorce agreement from the desk. I turned to the last page and signed my name.

Watching him fight back his anger, I smiled faintly.

This was the Zander I knew.

"If you don't like this reason, I can change it. I'll send you another divorce agreement," I added.

As I turned to leave, Zander's voice echoed from behind me.

"Jessica, if you walk out of this office now, there is no turning back," Zander said coldly. "Are you really not considering Johnny? His company is like a leech on the Harrison Group. I wouldn't allow it to exist if it weren't for you."

My heart skipped a beat and I turned to look at Zander.

We had once loved each other, but now he was using Johnny as a threat.

As I looked at him, I felt the love in my heart for him dissipating.

He seemed to notice my change as well, showing a surprised look on his face.

"Do what you want," I said, not waiting for his answer, and promptly left his office.

As the office door closed, I heard the sound of something breaking inside.

Back in my car, instead of going to the office, I drove straight to Johnny's house.

I had left that house since my marriage, returning only for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

When Johnny saw me, he was overjoyed.

He smiled and said, "I've been feeling a little lonely, but here you are."

"Where are Downey and Rebecca?" I asked, looking around the empty living room.

Rebecca is Johnny's wife and Downey is Rebecca's son from a previous marriage.

Downey is three years older than me and currently works for Johnny's company.

"They went on vacation," Johnny explained.

"Work at the company is keeping me busy and I couldn't take time off."

I nodded, put on my slippers, and followed Johnny into the living room.

Looking at Johnny's aging face, I couldn't help but ask, "Are you in some kind of trouble?"

Johnny worked under my father, but he had been instrumental in raising me.

I couldn't be indifferent when it came to him.

Johnny smiled bitterly.

He said, "The assistant manager just called me to say that our business partner canceled all the orders. We prepared a lot of goods already, and now they're all stuck in the warehouse. If we don't find a new buyer for such a large batch of goods, our money won't circulate.

Those orders were from the Harrison Group. I hadn't expected Zander to really go after Johnny.

I tried to comfort Johnny by saying, "Don't worry, if the quality of the goods is good, finding buyers shouldn't be a problem.

Afterwards, I sent a message to Lucas, asking him to handle things for Johnny's company.

Back in my old room, I lay down on the bed and rested for a while.

In my semi-dream state, Johnny knocked on my door.

"Jessica, time for dinner."

I washed my face with cold water.

Once refreshed, I went to the dining room.

"I just received a phone call. Surprisingly, there's a company that wants to buy my goods. The specifications and price are the same as the previous order," Johnny said happily.

"Oh? What's the company's name?" I asked.

"Alpha Company," Johnny remembered.

I smiled and nodded since it was the company I just took over.

With a market for the backlog of goods, Johnny's mood improved noticeably.

He even had two extra turkey legs for dinner.

After dinner, Johnny and I talked for a while, and I didn't tell him about the divorce.

He didn't ask about my current life with Zander, either.

Back in my room, I got a call from Lucas.

"Miss Riddle, the company we were bidding for earlier contacted us today."

"Are they breaking the contract again?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Not exactly," Lucas paused before saying, "The company mentioned that their former representative, Tommy, was fired for taking bribes. So they're inviting us back into the bidding process."

I chuckled and said, "They don't want to offend either side, huh? No problem, I'll participate."

I looked at her curiously and asked, "Jess, what's wrong? You seem distracted today."She just lightly pursed her lips, silent, those closed lips like a tightly shut city gate, locking her thoughts securely inside.I couldn't let her off the hook so easily, so I nudged her arm. "What's going on? I'm worried about you."She lifted her head, looked at me, and then said, "Haven't you seen today's entertainment news?"I quickly took out my phone from my bag, eager to open Twitter, my fingers swiftly scrolling on the screen. Soon, the trending topic about Harrison Group's chairman, Zander, allegedly having a new lover caught my eye.My eyes widened

The thundering heartbeats set a new life in me."Wait," a small, breathless whisper escaped her lips as she tried to stop me, but there was no going back now. I pulled away for a moment and then stared down at her bare breasts exposed under my wicked grasp. "I said, you can only be mine," I said as I wrapped a hand around her throat and pushed her against the headboard on the sheets. A loud scream escaped from her lips as my tongue dipped between her legs. Clearly, the sudden excitement and pleasure almost sent her over the edge. Her hips thrusted in a steady rhythm against my mouth. I

Jessica's POVI looked at his back, clad in a tailored suit and his meticulously styled hair. He was a man of precision, yet sometimes his extremes were terrifying. I looked at him and said, "We're divorced. I don't have the duty to play the loyalty game with you anymore. I'm leaving."However, his cold fingertips, like a snake's tongue, slithered down my cheek, showing no intention of letting me go. During our relationship, he had one rule: no betrayal. But now that we were divorced, his possessiveness had not decreased, but instead had reached a pathological level."Zander, let me go," I said.Zander pressed my body against the cold wall, his smile chilling. "Jessica, if I hold you, will you not be cold?""Zander! Are you insane?"His body was hot, pressed tightly against mine. The atmosphere between us immediately became ambiguous. Jessica's POVHearing Sigmund's words, I instinctively looked at Zander, who was clenching his fists so tightly that his veins were bulging. My heart tightened. I knew Zander all too well. His intense possessiveness was like a raging fire, capable of consuming everything in its path. The noisy and chaotic atmosphere surged towards me like a torrential tide, threatening to completely submerge me. An inexplicable sense of oppression and irritability spread in my heart like weeds. When the crowd heard the question, they instantly became a swarm of headless flies in disarray. They all clamored at me, "Although this topic is rather inappropriate, we are really curious. Jessica, how did your husband pass away?"I glanced at Zander, whose face clearly showed his displeasure. I snorted in my heart. He and I were divorced. Why should I care about his feelings? Moreover, the painful memories he brought me over the past year were like deep scars etched in my heart. How could I forget them easily? Before I could speak, Genevieve stepped in. "He was good to Jess at first, but as soon as the novelty wore off, he cheated immediately.
