Luciana's POV
I turned around and walked away before Alpha Massimo could speak. Fortunately, he never chased me.
I could feel my heart almost shattered into pieces hearing those painful words from him. He's my mate, and he's supposed to accept me, including my flaws. But I was only hallucinating. Alpha Massimo doesn't like me.
“Luciana!”
Just before my tears fell from my eyes again, I could hear my friends' voices at the back. I turned around and saw their worried faces.
A deep sigh escaped from my throat before facing them.
“Are you fine?” Aurora asked, her tone covered with worries.
“Why was Alpha Klein looking for you? Have you done something with him?” Calista mumbled.
I shook my head in response, telling them that there's nothing to worry about.
“It's nothing. I didn't trouble Alpha Klein. He just asked me about what his brother did to me. There's nothing else aside from that,” I replied, trying to avoid telling my friends about what we've talked about earlier.
I just don't want anybody to know about it. Not until I fully decided about it.
“Are you sure that he didn't do something to you? Just tell us, and we will talk to Alpha Klein to spare you. You've been dealing with so many mean people already, and we don't want him to join them. We believe that Alpha Klein is much better than his brother,” Aurora explained, making me furrow my brows.
I wasn't expecting her to say these words, as if she really knows the brother of the Alpha King.
“Alpha Klein might be mysterious in the eyes of the wolves because after all, he's not living here. He has his own pack, which has been temporarily managed by his beta. But we all know that he's kind-hearted. He respects women, unlike his brother, Alpha Massimo,” Calista mumbled.
“What did you just say?”
We were all stunned when someone suddenly interrupted us. I could feel my heart stop pounding, slowly turning my head to the owner of that voice. And there I found Alpha Massimo.
He's standing tall, his expression darkened, while his hands are on both sides of his pockets. I swallowed hard my saliva, as well as my friends.
“A-Alpha Massimo.”
Aurora and Calista say his name in chorus, except me. I remained speechless. We have no idea that the Alpha King was already behind us.
“Again, what did you just say?”
We're doomed. Alpha Massimo heard Calista's words. I don't know what will happen to us. Calista will definitely be punished and seeing that he's looking at her, I know she's referring to Calista.
But, I can't allow him to target my friends. The friends who stood up by me when everyone is so mean to me. I should do something to help her. It's my time to return the favor towards my friends.
Even though my legs are still shaking, I forced myself to step forward to face the tall figure of the Alpha King. Despite him rejecting me, I can still feel his impact deep within me. His undeniable presence could make my knees tremble. But I face him with courage.
I tilted my head, meeting his gaze. Alpha Massimo furrowed his brows, his attention diverted to me.
“So, you wanted to fight back now?” Massimo smirked. His alluring presence wanted to melt me down in fear, but I fought that.
“You can't get mad at my friends. They didn't do something to you. If you're mad, bring your anger to me, and not with them.”
I was surprised with myself. I know how to fight back now. My friends were even stunned in the corner.
His lips curled, “Have you forgotten who I am? Just so you know, I am the new Alpha King. If I want your friends to kneel before me, they have to obey me. Now, if they couldn't obey me, there would be worse things to happen to them.”
I clenched my teeth upon hearing those words from him. This man is making my blood boil. I have been crying these past few days because of his painful rejection, but I won't tolerate him to keep hurting me, including my loved ones.
“I know you're an Alpha King, but you don't have to use that title to underestimate us. If you attack us, you will be insulted because instead of fighting those powerful beings, you chose to waste your time on low-key wolves like us,” I muttered.
Alpha Massimo tilted his head, his lips curled into a mocking smile. He looked at me intently, making my knees continue to tremble.
“You know you would never be a low-key wolf anymore because you are already famous. I made you famous after getting you rejected in front of my people and letting them know how bad your smell was. I can't imagine dating you. You are so disgusting!”
These painful words from Alpha Massimo, my own mate, could make me teary-eyed already. However, this moment is way different now. I have no tears to cry anymore. My heart started to become careless.
I've had enough, and I won't let him continue to downgrade me. He will regret hurting my feelings and stepping onto my dignity. I swear he will regret everything he said to me at the right time.
“Say whatever you wanted to say to me, Alpha Massimo. I don't care anymore. But if you bully my friends just because they're my friends, I won't allow you,” I responded, while meeting his gaze.
Massimo's eyes started to darken after hearing those words from me. He started moving in my direction, making me step back to avoid him. But my back suddenly hit the hard wall, giving me no room to exit. Alpha Massimo continued walking until he's already an inch away from me.
“Why? Are you planning something against me? You're going to fight back with me, Luciana Hart?”
His face moved closer, hands already blocking my head.
“Let me go, Alpha Massimo. You won't like it when you make me angry.” I warned him, but he just replied to me with a sneer.
“Kneel down and apologize. If you can, kiss my feet because you deserve that. You have no difference from the rogues, and if you succeed in doing that, maybe my mind will change.”
I gritted my teeth, but still I follow. His eyes glistened, never expecting me to obey him easily. But he's wrong. I bit his right leg, making him scream in pain.
“You're an asshole, Alpha Massimo. You can't make me obey you anymore!” I exclaimed, and ran away from him together with my friends.
Luciana's POVI tried blinking a couple of times to know if I was hearing it right. But, Luna Zarina's smile just met my eyes. A smile that is sincere and no one would think she's just joking.I bit my lower lips, looking behind to stare at Massimo. He just smiled, which made me raise a brow.“I appreciate your offer, Luna Zarina. But I really can't accompany you there. It's—”When I was about to react, a maid suddenly arrived, calling Luna's attention.“I'm sorry to disturb your time, Luna Zarina, but Alpha Leo needed you. He said that he's sick and he cannot go with you…”Luna Zarina's expression changed when she heard that her husband is sick. She looked at me, worries covered on her face.“I think I couldn't go anymore, Luciana. Leo is sick, and I can't leave him here. Today is Klein's birthday, and honestly, this is the reason he left the pack immediately. He doesn't want us to celebrate his birthday party,” Luna Zarina explained. My eyes widened from what I heard. I never expect
Luciana's POVI know what I've heard. It's a woman's voice, but when I started checking the place, I couldn't see anyone. There's no hint of a woman around me. It's just the cold breeze of the wind that's hitting my body. But her voice.I could feel comfort with her sweet voice. The way she uttered my name, it touched my heart. It gives me an unexplainable feeling.“Luciana…”She called my name, and this time I started clenching my fists. I closed my eyes, trying to use my ability to locate where she was. But I really couldn't tell her direction. I couldn't guess where she's right now.“Who are you? Why don't you show yourself to me?” I asked, still with my shut eyes.“It's not the perfect time, dear. But when the right time comes, you will be able to see me. You will know who I am and what connection I have with you,” she uttered.I gritted my teeth, while listening to her angelic voice. And deep within my heart, I know that she's not an enemy. She's not here as a threat, but an ally
Luciana's POV“W-What?”As Massimo stuttered, I realized the recklessness I've done. And because of this, I immediately left the room without further ado. When I reached the hall, someone suddenly grabbed my hand. I know who that is and I never hesitated.“Wait, why are you leaving so fast, Luciana?” Massimo asked upon reaching me. I gritted my teeth, and pulled my hand from his grasp. When Massimo released my hand, I never hesitated to slap him across his face. He was stunned, his eyes glistened.“Don't touch me!” I exclaimed. Massimo furrowed his brows, staring at me deep within my eyes.“It's really difficult to predict your emotions, Luciana,” Massimo blurted, making me chuckle.I even smirked before responding to him. “It's because you will never have the chance to know me. You will never be able to win me over, Massimo. Just so you know, even if I agree with your plan, it doesn't mean I will accept you,” I muttered, staring at him. Massimo just smiled, and there's no hint of
Luciana's POVThe moment my body pressed against Massimo, I couldn't help but to feel a mix of emotions. His warmth gives me a chilling sensation, making all the strands of my hair stand up.My heart was beating so fast when the hotness of my body could be felt already. Despite the thickness of our shirt, his warmth can still be felt. I couldn't believe that I am feeling this to him. This is not right. I shouldn't be feeling this thing now, but instead of doing something to cut this, I stayed behind him. I remained hugging him until his body tensed.“L-Luciana, what are you doing?” Massimo asked, his voice almost losing.I bit my lower lips, trying to control the pounding of my chest.“Massimo, how's—”I immediately moved away from Massimo when I heard someone speak from behind. It feels like my world almost stumbled down in nervousness for the unexpected visitor that we have inside the room.“Klein,” Massimo blurted. “Why aren't you knocking on the door?”Klein looked at Massimo in h
Luciana's POV“W-Where am I?”My voice is shaking when I speak. Massimo's brows were furrowed as he looked at me. He didn't answer me when he rushed to the table to get me some water. When he returned, Massimo offered me a glass of water. I looked at it first, thinking whether I should accept it or not. But his chuckle woke up my blood.“I am not going to poison you. Just drink the water to help you feel better.”I rolled my eyes, and despite what I feel right now, I still have the gut to be irritated with Massimo.“You're not answering me,” I mumbled.Massimo sighed. He occupied the couch, and looked at me.“You passed out when we were still at the enemy's place.”“I know, but who brought me here? Was it you?”Massimo took out a deep and heavy breath before responding to me. He even looked me straight in the eyes as if he wanted us to look at each other when he spoke. I rolled my eyes again, and then tried my best to control myself.“I did. I took you from Klein, and he didn't have a
Luciana's POVAs Massimo hears the woman's words, he suddenly lets out a cold sneer. I furrowed my brows, while looking at him.“So, it was you who was behind the incident in the pack, Cassandra?”Cassandra chuckled, “What makes you so long to realize that, Massimo? I told you before that I will get back to you when the time comes, didn't I?” Massimo gritted his teeth, his face darkens. He's still tied, and I felt that he has no plans of unleashing himself.“I made a mistake of not thinking about the possibility that you can do this. After all, you're an Alpha's daughter, and your family is wealthy. Unfortunately, they are dead now for betraying us. Your family was the reason for my sister's death, and you know that.”I stood up straight upon hearing these words from Massimo's lips. He looked at me, still wearing his usual aura. My heart started pounding so fast as well.“It's because your sister doesn't like me for you, and she's the cause of the war, Massimo. Everything was—” Cass
