Chapter 7

Luciana's POV

I was chasing my breath the moment I stopped from running. My heart pounded so fast as well as my friends, who's holding their knees as they breathed heavily. I looked at them for a minute and burst into laughter.

“Have you seen his face earlier? I made him furious!” I laughed, making them laugh as well.

“I can't even believe you will do that to the Alpha King!” Calista mumbled.

“The reaction from his face just couldn't be explained. He looks deeply mad!” Aurora agreed.

I shook my head and said, “I don't care if he gets mad because of what he did to me. He deserves that after all. He broke my heart. He humiliates me, and I've accepted it in front of his people, but I couldn't stand it anymore. I will fight.”

I tilted my head saying these words towards my friends. They stopped already from laughing when their attention focused on me.

“But, he's powerful, Luciana. You know how much we wanted to avenge you to that asshole, but we can't do anything about it. He's an Alpha King,” Calista worriedly said to me. 

I met her gaze, my lips curled into a playful smirk. 

“I will figure it out. Don't worry, I know what I am doing. The only thing that I can promise to all of you is that I won't be allowing them to continue bullying me. I've had enough. I remained silent my whole life and had no plans of keeping silent forever. It's time for me to fight back.”

As I was saying these words towards my friends, I felt my eyes start to darken, and my teeth slightly gritted.

My friends looked at me, worries written to their faces. I know they are thinking about my safety, but I know what to do. It's no longer about letting them continue to downgrade me. It's about learning to stand up and defend myself.

“Whatever your decisions are, just know that we are beside you. We will never stop defending you even if you can, Lucy…”

I smiled at Calista after she told me these words. The relief from their reactions made me happy. At least, my friends are now calmed because they heard from me finally that I will be fighting back.

I will be fighting my cold-hearted ex-mate. Alpha Massimo will witness how I will fight back. I may have a bad smell, which was the reason he dumped me after learning that we're mates, but I will do something about it.

A deep sigh escaped out of my throat after thinking about my decision deeply. Calista and Aurora went back into their house, while I walked back to my cabin as well. We don't have a class today, so I headed straight. 

As I was walking down the street, I suddenly passed by to the pack's park. My head turned at it for no reason, while my heart was pounding so fast.

I don't know what pushes me to look at it. There is a small bench there, and I can see a group of wolves from there. I bit my lower lips as I realized who they are. It's Massimo and his asshole's friends. They are staying there, while having a good time with some group of female wolves.

“What's your plan with your ex-mate? She was still there.”

One of Massimo's friends uttered these words out of the blue that made me stop walking. My plan is, I will just pass by, but those words made me stop. I wanted to hear all of their conversations.

“Dad doesn't want that woman to be thrown out. I don't have a choice because my father's words need to be followed,” Massimo responded, uninterested.

“So, we're going to endure her smell that almost pollutes our air here? Until now, we still can't even believe that she's your mate, Massimo,” Scarlet interrupted. 

I didn't expect to see her there. She's part of Massimo's group and my heart suddenly stops beating for a moment. They still did not know that I was at the back, listening to their conversation. 

“All of you know that I don't like her. Even if she doesn't have a smell, I still don't want to accept her as my mate. I don't like any connections to any women and I only treated them as my toy.” 

I was stunned by what Massimo had mentioned. He said that even if I don't have that smell, he's still not going to like me. And I couldn't help but ask myself.

What's wrong with me?

I can cover my smell if he likes. There's no problem about it. 

“Why don't you act as if you like her and when you're able to win her heart, just dump her again?” Scarlet suggested, making me clench my fists. “That way, she will be forced to leave the pack after breaking her heart and our problem is gone. What do you think, Massimo?”

That woman really hated me. She even suggested her plan towards Alpha Massimo. But despite that, I know Alpha Massimo won't accept it. He won't waste his time with me because he's done dealing with me. He just rejected me, right?

“That's an insane plan, Scarlet. Our friend will not bite it.”

Massimo's friend reacted at Scarlet's words. And I thought Massimo would not agree, but I was wrong. 

“It's a good idea, Scarlet. The easiest way to let her leave this pack is by playing with her feelings and I like that. I can make a sacrifice because I also wanted to hurt her. I just don't like her being my mate.”

Massimo didn't just break my heart once, or twice. He breaks it thrice already and this is so too much. I expected that he wouldn't listen to what Scarlet was saying, but he agreed. He's willing to play my heart as if I'm just a toy with him.

Hearing those words made me clench my fists, my heart pounded so fast. Tears are about to stream down, but I never let that happen. I won't be crying anymore because of that f*cking Alpha. He hurt me many times and only a fool won't take revenge.

My heart was telling me to confront and reveal myself to them, but my mind advised me that I should not do that. I should pretend I didn't hear anything and let them continue their plans with me. And I listened to what my mind told me about.

I will allow Alpha Massimo to make his plans with me because I will do mine as well.

“You wanted to play with my heart, Alpha Massimo?” I uttered in a low voice, still staring at them. “Then, I will play yours as well. This woman you called having a bad smell and the woman you don't like will give you a heartbreak. Just wait and you will taste your own medicine.”

I took out a deep breath, and smirked.

“One day, you will beg for my love, and I can't wait for that. You will kneel in front of me, begging me to accept you, and when that happens, I will be the one to laugh at you. I will be the one to break your heart into pieces. And you can't do anything to stop it. Alpha Klein and I will kill your heart, slowly but surely.”

And I moved faster to meet the person who will help me in this mission.
