Chapter 19 | Evoke
After Nix and I had our morning run, we went to the dining hall to have our first meal. People who lived in their own homes frequently made and ate breakfast at home, so those who lived in the pack house or had been out patrolling were the only ones looking for breakfast. The dining hall was occupied with large tables and chairs, it was spacious, spacious enough to accommodate almost all of the pack members in this pack house. Breakfast and lunch were more of a self-serve situation. We were too late to help with the cooking, so we grabbed a plate and filled it before heading over to a table. Nix helped me with selecting the food, well, mostly he would just put anything on my plate as long as I get full. Is he planning on making me obese? Or do I look really thin?

Once we were done arranging Tiffany’s new clothes inside her huge closet, we decided to head out and shift into our wolf form. Tiffany led me out of the pack house and down some seldom-used forest paths. As we made our way to her promised destination where no one could interrupt us, I felt her slender frame move with excitement and her face glowing. Tiffany led me to the kitchen, and I asked, "Can you possibly show me how this stove works? I awoke to find myself in the same situation I had been in the day before. For a while, I just enjoyed the sensation of all the sparks erupting around me. I couldn't tell you how long I sat there watching Nix train them and fight with the other fighters. They never saw me, despite the fact that I wasn't hiding. Nix kept glancing towards the forest to the east as if he was getting worked up. Something or someone must’ve been lingering in the east direction. Tony led us to the back of the room and down some stairs after we entered an enclosed training room. As the heavy metal door closed behind me, I took a look around the large basement room.
