Chapter 10 Patricio Greensmith

I ALMOST held my breath as I saw Argo approaching the table with his dark gaze fixed on me.

While I waited for him to speak, I held the glass of water and drank it straight.

"What is that woman doing here?"

His voice shook.

"Why don't you come to eat with us, son?"

His mother tongue appeared upfront and immobile.

"When you're done eating, we're leaving," he said flatly, ignoring his mother's words.

I lowered my gaze to my plate. "I'm just starting to eat; can you wait? It's a shame I won't be able to taste everything." I sniffed immediately.

I bit my lower lip and looked across at the roasted pork at the table.

"All okay, hija, keep eating."

I appeared to be encouraged and starts eating again. I sliced the pork with a knife.

"Would you like to?" I offered to the lady after she caught me staring at her.

Argo could only sit in front of me. I smiled and offered him my first cut roast.

"That's delicious in our province. That is the star of the table, especially when having a fiesta!" I smi
