I quickly turned around when I heard Aunt Rosa's voice. She had just arrived from the market. She left earlier with Vanessa, saying she was just going to buy something for us to cook.

I immediately went to the door to meet her when I saw her carrying several large plastic bags filled with groceries and two paper bags. It was a bit strange, but I didn’t ask right away.

"Thank you, dear. By the way, where's your son? I didn’t see him playing at the neighbor’s house," she said while looking around the entire house.
