REINA

"What did you say?" He coughed profusely and his eyes turned bloodshot red as he stared at me.

"Are you okay?" I patted his back slowly so he would calm down and he nodded in response to my question.

"Yes, I'm fine. I'm okay." He stated and turned his head to the side to get a clear view of me properly.

"Did you hear what you just said?" He asked again and I chuckled slightly.

"Call it compensation. After All, this happened to you in my car so it's slightly my fault. I have to do this." I smiled to the nurse dismissing her while Ethan kept staring at me with eyes wide open like he was in disbelief of what I said.

I'm equally in disbelief of what I said so that makes the feeling mutual.

"So I'll have to start living with you? I'm your house?" I nodded trying my best not to lock eye contact with him as I knew that I might try to Keep my attitude intact but my face would give away how embarrassed I was feeling.

Let's not forget that I practically just kissed him.

REINA "I dont remember any one from the company that was putting on a red dress. That looks totally unfamiliar." I kept looking while squinting my eyes as I tried remembering who had wore a red dress to the company. My eyes scanned the camera footage, while my mind was racing with memories as i tapped the corner of my head slightly. I was certain no one had worn a red dress to the office, but as i watched the grainy video, no one stood out inside of my head.It was kind of hard to even think just by watching someone i didnt know, open my car so easily and entered; coming out after doing what they wanted like they owned the car."Come on, Reina, think," Ethan urged, his voice low and encouraging as he was looking himself, with eyes laced in scrutiny. "Even I was in the company and I can't even remember who wore such dress that stood out completely. I can't even be of much help since I'm constantly locked inside of my office. My brow furrowed in frustration. "I don't know, Ethan. I'

REINAI walked to Ethan's bedroom, my heart heavy with the weight of the truth but I had to tell Ethan, had to share the burden of this knowledge with him. After all, he helped in getting the footages and he would most definitely want to know. I knocked slightly on the door but no answer came and I wasn't sure if he was already fast asleep or if it was my knock that was just too low."Ethan." I called out as I knocked again but there was still absolute silence.I pushed the door open and luckily it was open, I peeked in and he was really asleep. How could he fall asleep this fast? I approached the bed, and saw him fast asleep, his chest rising and falling with each gentle breath. I stared at his peaceful face and smiled.I hesitated, not wanting to disturb him. He needed rest, needed to recover from his ordeal. I couldn't wake him now, not with this news.He was already physically hurt so I couldn't hit him with this while waking him up with such eerie news. It's a no.As I waited

REINA"I'm here to report Mrs Ravenna Walter," I said, my voice firm but trembling slightly as I pulled out my phone from my bag. You might ask why I was clutching to my phone nervously but even I knew that Ravenna was influential as much as I was.And this might be a little hard so I might be asked to provide proof sooner than later. The officer's expression turned serious and to be honest, that's the exact reaction i was expecting so it didn't surprise me."What's the nature of your complaint, ma'am?" he asked, his voice gentle but probing as hw stared at me in scrutiny. Though his mouth wasn't saying the words the warning to back off was all there in his expression but what's the fun in backing off?The time when I ran were over and it was time I stood in one place and take everything I lost back.I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart as I proceeded into dropping my complaints."She tampered with my car's brakes. I'm sure iwas supposed to have an accident, but her hu

REINA "Why are you acting like you don't care when I know that you probably want to yell at me right now?" I couldn't bottle up the question any longer. I needed to get it off my chest because what man would let you lock his wife up and even help you out.It all seemed shady to me and I felt like it would come back to bite me in my ass later."Care about what exactly? What are you talking about?" I pushed the door open and he stepped in while I paused at the entrance and stared at him."Dont feign ignorance with me, Mr Ethan." He raised a brow again and he usually only did that when he was confused."I don't know what you're talking about.""I'm talking of your wife—""Nah, I'll rather think of other things and no! We were actually splitted up and she overstepped her boundaries." And with that, he nodded questionably asking if I understand and I replied with a nod.As we walked into the house, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. Ravenna was finally behind bars, and i could start t

REINA"Seriously, Bruce? I am not Mrs Walter." I affirmed and Bruce just stared at me like I was messing with his head then sighed and began walking away.I chased after Bruce, my heart pounding in my chest. "Bruce, wait! Please listen to me. This is what I hate about you, you don't even want to hear from me. At least, listen to my explanation." I yelled and he stopped. Turning around, a mixture of surprise and annoyance on his face. "What do you want, Reina?" He raised a brow as he folded his arms across each other in a questioning manner.I took a deep breath, trying to explain. "I'm sorry, Bruce. I didn't mean to take the title of Mrs Walter. I just wanted to get past the nurses and take care of Ethan. I didn't mean to hurt you." He was just staring at me blankly and poker faced.Bruce raised an eyebrow. "You didn't mean to hurt me? You think taking someone's identity is just a minor mistake? What made you feel entitled into taking care of..." He trailed off and gestured towards

REINA Ethan's expression turned cold, his eyes hard. "You deserved better? Of course, you're right. You absolutely deserved better." He nodded cutting off the conversation and trying to concentrate on driving but I was too head over in my anger to just keep quiet. The argument ended shortly as he drove. We sat in silence for a moment, the tension between us palpable. The argument continued to escalate as we drove home, our voices raised in anger. Andrew, exhausted from the day's events, fell asleep in the backseat, oblivious to the tension between us.As we pulled into the driveway, I was still fuming. I got out of the car and opened the door to the backseat, gently lifting Andrew into my arms. Ethan didn't even offer to help, still sulking in his seatOr am I the one been paranoid? Is Ethan supposed to help with one of his broken hands?Reina! REINA"Are you leaving for work already?" I questioned walking after Ethan and he nodded. He was just acting like he wasn't the same person that has kissed me passionately last night and I felt sloghtly offended."Is there anything I'm to do before leaving?" He asked politely, his eyes darting all over the room except on me."No, are you healed enough to work properly?" I was trying to keep the conversation going but it seemed to me that he was doing his possible best to kill the conversation."Yeah sure, I'm in perfect health. Even well enough to stay alone." What was he implying? Was he trying to say that he was well enough to go back to him home?"Umm—""I'll see you at the office, Reina. I have a lot to attend to today so I better be on my way. Say hello to Andrew" And with that, he walked out of the house while I nodded subconsciously.I prepared myself for work and dropped Andrew off at school while I went to work. REINAJust as I was about saying something, Bruce barged into the house again."I'm sorry, I forget my wallet." Bruce said and I nodded having nothing to else because whatever exactly can I say."Of course, you did." Ethan sighed and I opened my mouth to say something but decided against it and shut the hell up.I stood in my living room, watching in dismay as Bruce and Ethan's argument escalated again. It looked more like were two women were bickering but not the funny kind of bickering. It had been two weeks since Ethan had been staying with me, and I had hoped that things would settle down by now. But Bruce's visit had brought up old tensions, and now the two men were shouting at each other and I don't know if they can recognize that there words are opening up old wounds and they just had to stop already."Bruce, stop!" I pleaded, trying to intervene as I held my hands up. My voice was loud and at least it brought the both of them to shut the hell up. "This isn't solving anything

EthanI couldn’t focus on anything anymore. Not work, not Andrew, not even the endless distractions I used to drown myself in. My mind was consumed by Reina. Her sudden indifference towards me, her mysterious outings, and the unsettling confidence she carried these days. It was as though she had transformed into someone I didn’t recognize, someone who didn’t need me anymore. The change that I saw in her made me mad and angry. She used to plead, cry, and beg for my attention. Now, she barely looked at me. She left the house dressed to kill, and returned late at night without a single explanation. When I asked where she had been, her replies were casual and almost dismissive.“It is none of your business, Ethan,” she said one night, brushing past me as though I were invisible. And that smile, she smiled more these days, but never at me. Always at her phone. One evening, I heard the door close softly behind her as she left. I sat in the living room, staring at the television, but I

ReinaTaking your friend's advice? That was a good thing to do. I sat at the dining table, absently twirling the spoon in my cup of tea. Ethan was seated across from me, but I didn’t dare look at him. I could feel his eyes on me, as though he was waiting for me to break the silence. A month ago, I would have. I would have pleaded, begged him to talk to me. But not anymore. I had decided to follow Celia’s advice. If Ethan wanted space, he would get it, more than he bargained for.“You are not going to say anything?” he asked finally, breaking the silence between the both of us. I looked up briefly, then shrugged, giving him a neutral look. “What is there to say?”His brows furrowed. “You have been quiet lately. It’s…unlike you.”I shrugged again and stood, carrying my cup to the sink. “If you have something to say, Ethan, say it. Otherwise, I have work to do.”I walked out of the kitchen without waiting for a response. My hands trembled slightly as I made my way to the livin

ReinaA divorce? A fucking divorce!!!Did I hear right or was I dreaming? Has it come to this now that he was suddenly asking for a divorce? No, no. He has to be joking. He has to be seriously joking about this. He will come around soon. I hit my head with my hand countless times as the days passed in a rush. The once vibrant and intoxicating energy that filled our home had been replaced with a heavy, suffocating silence. Ethan barely spoke to me unless it was about Andrew or something essential that he felt I should know about.Even then, his words were short and straight to the point and his tone was cold. It was like talking to a stranger.I sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the framed photo on the nightstand. It was from our honeymoon. Ethan and I were on a beach, laughing at something I could not even remember. We looked so happy, so carefree. That version of us felt like a distant dream, a life that didn’t belong to me anymore. How did all these disappear in the blink

ReinaI had expected that when Ethan dragged me out, we were going to have a conversation like two normal humans. But, no. That was not the case. Ethan dragged me out and left me standing after raining insults on me. The stupid me swallowed whatever I received from him and stormed back to the house. I was deeply hurt by everything Ethan was doing and I was quite sure he was doing this deliberately to hurt me. I was seated in the house and the only thing that engulfed the house was silence. It was deafening and the only thing one could hear was the ticking of the clock on the wall.I sat in the living room with my arms wrapped tightly around my knees, staring blankly at the empty coffee table in front of me. The argument from the club was still fresh in my mind. Every word, every glare, every moment of humiliation played repeatedly inside my mind. Finally, Ethan came back home. I had been expecting him all this whole time since he refused to come home. When he finally stepped in

  • Chasing Back My Stunning Ex-Wife   Chapter 263

ReinaThe house was silent, save for the occasional ticking of the clock on the living room wall. Ethan had once again left without a word, and it was already past midnight. My heart ached, and the silence felt suffocating. I could not sit still anymore. My mind was racing with every worst-case scenario. Where was he? Who was he with?Celia’s words echoed in my head. “If he can stay out all night, why can’t you? You need to breathe too, Reina. Come with me. Let’s go out, let loose. Maybe seeing you have fun will remind him what he is losing.”“I can't believe he is doing this to me. Celia. He is acting all tough and hard towards me. I hate that he is making me feel this way,” I complained.“Look, Reina. If I were you, I wouldn't bother myself about him anymore. He is not a serious man. How can a man who has a child behave that way? Are you sure he is not sleeping around with different women?” She asked and my heart kept pounding against my chest. “He has cheated on me before, Celi

  • Chasing Back My Stunning Ex-Wife   Chapter 262

ReinaI don't understand love.At the beginning, it makes you feel all good as if that was the only thing that mattered at some point. It makes you feel like you don't want it to end but then, when everything goes wrong. Your world comes crashing down. Was this how mine was going to be for the rest of my life? I know that I was still as attractive as hell but would I be able to find a man who would get married to me at this age?I might find a good number that would satisfy me in bed and make me a baby mama but I doubt if any of them would want to get married to me. I sighed loudly as the clock ticked endlessly. Each passing second felt like a hammer to my chest. Ethan had been gone for three days. Three days of unanswered calls, ignored texts, and sleepless nights. I could not focus on anything else. Not work, not Andrew, not anything. The house felt empty without him. It was cold and lifeless.Tonight, though, something felt different. There was tension in the air. It was a diff

  • Chasing Back My Stunning Ex-Wife   Chapter 261

ReinaThat was a big flop. Ethan just told me all of that to make me feel better, I guess. It looked like forgiveness was far from him at this point. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, searching for the woman Ethan once loved.I looked the same, but everything felt different. The cracks in my marriage were now wide, and no matter how hard I tried to patch them, they just kept spreading.I had no idea what to do. My marriage since day one has not been all rosey. Now, it was worse. Were there not women having it good in their marriages? Why was mine different?I pressed my palms against the table, taking a shaky breath. This could not be the end. I would not let it be. I was not going to lose my family because of a silly mistake. I heard Ethan’s footsteps downstairs. The sound of his footsteps on the floor was heavy and loud and it felt like he did it deliberately. Every time he moved around the house, I felt the tension in the air. It was thick and suffocating. He had been di

ReinaI had made terrible decisions in my entire life on earth and this is definitely one of them. I paced back and forth in the living room with my hands trembling. The weight of what I had done pressed heavily on my chest. Ehan’s words from earlier echoed in my head: "You made your choice, Reina." His voice was cold and broken. I had never seen him like that, never felt this level of dread.I was feeling this guilty even though I thought I was repaying him back in his own coin. I mean, he cheated on me. The pictures were sent to me. Everyone knows that I am a wife to a cheat and he came in here and acted normal. I sank onto the couch, burying my face in my hands. How did it get this far? I knew I had crossed a line, but at the time, I justified it as harmless. It was not like I was having an affair, at least not in the traditional sense. But now, looking back, I knew better. Emotional infidelity was just as damaging. Maybe worse. My phone buzzed on the table. I hesitated, afr

Ethan’s POVI sat in the car for a long time, just staring at the dashboard. My knuckles were white from gripping the steering wheel too hard, and my chest felt tight, like I could not catch my breath. My phone buzzed again on the passenger seat, but I couldn’t bring myself to look at it. Not now.I already knew what I would see.I was heartbroken from seeing those messages. I could still hear her voice in my head, laughing at something I didn’t understand.I thought I was going crazy when I first noticed how much she smiled at her phone. How often she stepped out of the room to take calls. I brushed it off, told myself I was just thinking too much. But then I saw them. They are being Flirtatious, playful, and secretive. Words that used to be ours, now shared with someone else. And the worst part? It wasn’t just any man.It was Chris.Chris, a man who she told me started to work with her in the office.
