The Aftermath

Caroline wandered among the dead, gathering the remnants of the fallen heroes. Tears caused a river to run through the empty cavern of her heart as she came upon the familiar face of her grandson, lying amongst his mates' bodies, limbs everywhere, and yet the three of them still held hands. Gone to meet the Moon Goddess together in death as they had been in the final moments of life.
