Morgana's POV:

FIVE YEARS LATER………

“Noah!” I called out, tying my hair back with a band.

Where could he be?

Suddenly, I bumped into someone. Looking up, I saw it was the cook in her white apron and cap.

Sighing deeply, I asked, “Where is he? Please tell me you found him.”

“I couldn’t find him, Ma'am,” She replied, her head hung low. “This house is huge; he could be anywhere. I had the maids search everywhere for him. We’ll find him soon, I promise.”

“I hope so, Lola. Xavier is on his way back, and he hates it when his rest is disturbed.”

“Don’t worry, ma'am. We’ll definitely find him before Sir returns, trust me…”

“I found him!” Someone called out, and we hurried toward the voice.

We entered the library and saw a maid standing by the door.

“Where is he?” I asked.

“Behind the third shelf,” She replied curtly.

“You both can leave now,” I instructed. “And please shut the door behind you.”

I moved behind the third shelf to find my sweet pie crouched down, his head hanging low.

Chapter 6Morgana’s POV:I ran a hand over my black gown, smoothing out invisible wrinkles as I examined my reflection. The V-neck hugged my curves, while the long slit along my right leg gave just enough allure without being too revealing.“Everything is perfect.” I said, to my reflection.Tonight, I would no longer be the woman hiding in the shadows, secretly aiding Xavier from behind the scenes. Tonight, I would step forward and take my place beside him, no matter how much he tried to keep me sheltered. As if summoned by my thoughts, a familiar deep voice rang out. “You’re really going through with this?” Xavier leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest. His blue eyes swept over me, a mixture of admiration and concern filled his eyes. I turned toward him, raising a brow. “Would you rather I stay hidden forever?”“You know that’s not what I mean,” He sighed, stepping forward. “Morgana, there’s no need for you to put yourself through this. Simon and Marilyn—”“Are e

Chapter 7Morgana’s POV:The ride home was quiet. Too quiet.Xavier’s hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, while I leaned back against the leather seat, watching the city lights through the tinted window. His silence didn’t sit well with me, so I turned to him. “Are you going to keep brooding the whole way home?” I finally said, breaking the unbearable quiet. His fingers flexed, and without taking his eyes off the road, he exhaled. “I’m not brooding.”I raised a brow. “You’re gripping the wheel like you want to break it. Seems like brooding to me.”He said nothing.I chuckled. “Let me guess. You’re upset because of Simon?”His jaw ticked. Bingo.Xavier’s voice was tight when he finally spoke. “I told you to stay away from him.”I tilted my head. “Technically, I did. He came to me.”Xavier shot me a glare before looking back at the road. “You know what I mean.”I sighed dramatically. “Relax, Xavier. I don’t care about Simon. He means nothing to me.”His fingers tightened around

Chapter 8Morgana’s POV:He wasn’t moving.I stayed crouched by Simon’s side, fingers hovering just above his neck, unsure if I wanted to know what I might—or might not—find.“Xavier…” My voice came out lower than I meant it to, nearly drowned by the thud of my heartbeat in my ears. “What if you—”“I didn’t hit him that hard,” Xavier said, but his voice lacked conviction. It wasn't convincing neither was he sure that he didn't hit him dead.We both stared at the man lying motionless on the cold balcony floor, the evening breeze rustling his shirt slightly.I reached out and touched Simon’s neck—then sighed with relief. “He’s breathing.”Xavier exhaled. “Good. Then I won’t have to spend the night in a jail cell.”I looked up at him. “But you might still have to deal with a lawsuit. You punched a powerful man in public, in front of witnesses.”He ran a hand through his hair, pacing a few steps back. “He had it coming.”“And what if he wakes up and spins this into something bigger?” I st

Chapter 9Morgana's POV:After Noah got better, I made the decision to finally start working officially at the company. It was overdue—long overdue.I was supposed to leave with Xavier this morning, but he had already gone before I woke up. Again. That made it three days in a row.Three days of waking up to cold sheets, three nights of falling asleep alone, and not even the sound of the room door closing behind him. He came and left like a shadow, just like I had asked for… unintentionally.‘You don’t have to be worried because he’s not your son.’ Those words had spilled out of me in a moment of anger, and now they sat in my chest like a stone. He didn't say anything, neither has be brought it up. But his absence screamed louder than any argument could. The truth was, Xavier and I never had a real relationship. Our marriage was a contract—two broken people agreeing to coexist, nothing more.At least, that’s how it started. But after a year… something changed. It became purely sexual

But I wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction—not yet. Before I could clap back, her voice rang out again. “But isn’t it strange?” She asked. “That you sold off your ex-husband’s empire?”Someone cleared their throat, and chairs shifted slightly.Strange? What was strange was how deeply invested she seemed to be in something that had nothing to do with her.I glanced at her—well-dressed, with heavy pearls sitting proudly at her throat. She looked like the type of woman who lived for charity luncheons, gossip cloaked as “concern,” and scandal disguised as curiosity.I bit down on my inner cheek, trying to steady my breathing.BInstead, I turned to Xavier. His gaze was already on me, and I didn’t have to say a word. He knew. I needed him to handle this—for both our sakes.Xavier cleared his throat, then turned to her. “That’s enough, Mrs Howard.” He said, his voice calm but e

Chapter 11Morgana's POV:For five years, Xavier and I had maintained a marriage that was more of an alliance than a romantic union. Our interactions were cordial, and our conversations centered around business and Noah. Intimacy was a concept we both seemed to sidestep, perhaps out of self-preservation.However, as we began collaborating more closely on company projects, an unexpected shift occurred. Late nights in the office led to shared dinners, where discussions of quarterly reports seamlessly transitioned into stories from our pasts. I found myself laughing more, the sound foreign yet comforting. One evening, as we wrapped up a particularly grueling meeting, Xavier leaned back in his chair, studying me with an intensity that made my pulse quicken. "Morgana.” He began. "There's an art exhibition this Friday. Would you accompany me?"Surprised, I met his gaze. "Are you asking me on a date, Xavier?"A wide smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Perhaps I am."The evening of th

Chapter 12Simon's POV:I paced near the window, with a glass of whiskey clenched tightly in my hand, its contents barely touched. The ice had long since melted, much like the patience etched on Marilyn's face as she stood with arms crossed."Simon." Marilyn began. "This has to stop. Ever since Morgana resurfaced and we discovered she's married to Xavier, you've been... different.”I scoffed, downing the lukewarm liquid in one gulp. "And whose fault is that, Marilyn? Every time I turn around, you're there, reminding me of what Morgana did to you, how she 'almost killed' you. It's like you enjoy playing the victim."Marilyn's eyes narrowed. "Playing the victim? Simon, she pushed me down a flight of stairs! I was hospitalized for months! Or have you conveniently forgotten that?"I slammed the empty glass onto the windowsill. "Of course, I haven't forgotten! But dredging up the past every time we have an argument isn't helping.""It's not the past if it's still affecting our present," S

Caitlyn and Xavier Spotted Together Again.”“#Xaitlyn Trending Again as Fans Fuel Reunion Rumors.”My eyes widened, and the back of my throat burned as if I'd swallowed acid. My eyes darted to the side of the bed instinctively. Empty?Of course, it was. He had probably already left—early, as usual—off to the office to meet Caitlyn.Again.I sat up slowly, clutching the phone in both hands as if the force of my grip could erase everything I just read. Xavier's POV The sun shone into the room and my eyes squinted at the rays. I was a little disoriented before I got my bearings, remembering what happened the other day brought a small smile to my face. I've always imagined what it would be like to finally have her to myself completely. No imagination could have prepared me for how perfect she was. We fitted so perfectly, it hurts. I don't think I'll ever be able to recover from her if she ever decides to leave me or do something funny. Not like I would let her go. She's stuck with me for life, and I will make sure that she understands that. I looked into her eyes, and there was this pull in my chest that was so strong that I almost could not breathe. She looked so peaceful sleeping like that. Seeing her from up close like this makes it so obvious how long her lashes actually are. And the little dusty freckles that adorned her pretty nose. She burrowed into me more and I allowed her to. I've noticed something really surprising abo

Morgana's POV The last sane thought I had was a few minutes ago when we stepped out of the car and into the elevator. Anything after that, I was gone. My husband had his hands wrapped around me immediately as we stepped into the elevator. His hands were roaming all over my body and I was starting to feel hot and bothered all over. “What are you doing?” I managed to mutter out. His breath burned down my neck. His hand came up to cup my breast. My breath hitched. “Nothing. Just trying to please my turned-on wife.” He whispered huskily into my ear. “You should not start this if you're not going to finish it. You've been having me on the verge of insanity for a while now.” I said breathlessly. And what I said was the truth. I have been looking at him like he was a snack since our relationship took the next step. I've always found him attractive. But, it's gotten worse. “Why do you think I'll do that?” I broke away from him with everything I had in me and I turned to face him. “I'm

Morgana's POV I never ever thought that I'll see Mary Anne again, who now says she goes by the name Gabriella. Ella for short. She was my best friend when I was in the secondary boarding school. She always had my back then when I was been bullied. She was the only one who stood by me and was my friend then. When we graduated secondary school, we parted ways. She gave me her contact then, but with the parents I had, they did not allow me to have any contact with the outside world. They didn't allow us to have cell phones in the school then, and trust my frigent parents to go by the rules so well. “It's so good to see you again.” I said to her, as we sat at the bar. This particular bar area was a little better than the rest, because the noise reduced. Not drastically, but enough to hear what we are saying without straining our ears. “Yeah. I was not the one that bailed on our friendship though. I totally expected you to call me. But you didn't. And it was as if you vanished into thi

Morgana's POV The days that followed were the best days of my life. I won't even lie about that. I never thought I'd feel so much joy with a man given my past experience. But here I was, loving every moment I had with him. He's given me experiences that I never imagined I'd get to enjoy. He made me feel special and has successfully reeled me into his web. Not that I'm complaining. I'm having the best time of my life here and it's all because of him. And I think I was falling in love with my husband. Normal people fall in love first, have a relationship, then continue to marriage if compatible. Clearly not us though. We got the whole thing wrong. I think I did. I can't say from his side. The only part where he had revealed his feelings to me was that night when he told me how he felt. But, he did not emphatically tell me that he was in love with me. And let's be candid, if he'd told me then, I might have run for the hills. I would not have known how to deal with the situation. I

Xavier's POV Holding a very exhausted Noah in my arms , I used my left hand to swipe the card on the lock and the door opened. Slipping into the suite, I saw Morgana curled up on the couch, sleeping. It was as if she was waiting for us to arrive. One glance at the laptop I saw in front of her, it didn't take anything for me to know that she was working before I came in. Probably slept off. I could bet anything right now that she didn't order anything to eat. I gently walked towards his room and placed him on the bed. He rolled on his side as murmured inaudibly. But I caught on to something he said. “Thank you daddy.” He said, his eyes still closed, obviously asleep. My heart swelled so much that I thought it would burst out. He wasn't even awake and he's pulling in my non existent heart strings. Well, his mother has been doing that for a while now. I kissed the top of his head and stepped out. I've watched the kid grow up and I've come to fall in love with him. Whatever it is th

Morgana's POV Italy is hot. Like, I knew I checked for the weather they had right now before I packed my bags. And I used that as a template to pack clothes. But right now, I could not have been more wrong. The place was like hell. Hot like that. “I think I'll go shopping again.” I said. “Why?” My husband asked and I sighed. “The clothes I brought along do not fit the summer they have here. This place is hot. I cannot imagine wearing these clothes everyday here. I'd fry.” I said, picking out the clothes and tucking them back into the traveling box. Getting to the hotel, I knew Xav would do the most and I was not entirely shocked at how extravagant it was. I was just surprised at the beauty. It was an old money kind of hotel. And then again, it was a resort so it kind of had everything. He got us a whole presidential suite and everything is as though made for the president. It screamed money. When I asked him how much everything cost, he jokingly asked if I wanted to pay for i

  • Chasing My Run Away Wife After Regret.    Chapter Twenty Four.

Morgana's POV I looked at the boxes that have been packed to go. They stayed in the middle of the sitting room. Noah was running around happily and giddily. Immediately I told him we were leaving the house, the excitement he had was over the roof. He's been jumpy ever since I told him about it. And it made me a little sad. Thinking of the life he could have but he was not stuck in the house homeschooling. This has made me think that maybe I'd reconsider him going out. And starting with this vacation. After he's done, he'd start going to school like kids his normal age, so he'd be able to relate well with them. The regret I used to feel anytime he threw tantrums about going out and I scolded him is always over the top. “You ready, wife?” Xav asked and I blushed. Hard. He's made it his mission this past few days to make me blush. I've been always nervous and also giddy around him. “Yup.” I popped the p and called out to Noah. “Hey baby, come on. Let's go.” I motioned for him with

Xavier's POV As soon as I stepped into the house, I could feel the tension. There was something that's going on right now. Or something went down here. The manor was always silent most of the days. When my parents were still alive, the place would always bustle. There was always life inside. If there was no party today, there'd be a dinner tomorrow in which they invited all of their friends. They were always doing one thing or another. I ohkd not wrap my head around the fact that then. But, it was fun. Especially since I was a child then. Since Morgana came in, the house has become calm. Not like the feeling of graveyard it almost always had. It was just calm and homey. The reason I didn't always stay in my apartment in the city was because of my grandpa. He had frankly refused to leave the house. I know he had memories here. But staying with all that bitterness and regret would hurt him. I don't know how he's still alive until now. Given that he blamed himself for the death of m

Morgana's POV I stormed into the house funing and angrily mad. This has to come to an end today. Even if it's not the end, I must see to it that the person behind disclosing the identity of my son is exposed. That was one of the things I had dreaded. I don't know what will happen now that Simon already knows about it. But, I've been a little calm since he left my office. The realization that I was not alone after all resonated within me and I've been conscious of that fact and I like that. It made me feel at peace. But then, whoever the mole in my house is, must leave today. Dropping my bag on the couch, I rang for the bell that was supposed to call for them. Soon enough, they started coming in. And there were about five of them. “Good evening, Miss. Is there a reason why you have called us all here at this time?” The housekeeper, who was a little older, asked. The woman looked strict. She never took rubbish or sucked up to anyone in this house since I joined. Her facial feature
