Chapter 1

“Edward is making a new scandal again!”

“Well, I’m already not surprised.”

“That’s right, that guy never seems to run out of ways to get his name on any news.”

“He really is a playboy. But... a classy playboy.”

A group of female employees from the Escape Company were discussing a hot gossip. The gossip about the young businessman who had recently captured the attention of many netizens. His rising career, as well as his charm as a high-class playboy who often made new scandals, actually went very smoothly and in balance. If a playboy is usually hated by women, then Edward might be an exception.

Felicia had just arrived and immediately noticed the excitement from her friends. If there was one woman who wasn’t interested in every scandal Edward created. Felicia was probably one of them. Why? Well... of course it was a secret.

Just as Felicia pulled up a chair, a girl suddenly came over and immediately showed Felicia her cell psecre.

“Felicia, look. Edward is on the cover of the main page again,” said the girl named Diana excitedly.

“Eeehm, yeah... I’m not really interested in this kind of news,” Felicia replied casually.

“Seriously, there’s no girl who isn’t interested in Edward. He’s the perfect man, every woman’s dream. I think there’s something wrong with you,” Aliceexcited

“I’m just not interested in the news, not the person,” Felicia replied lazily.

“Great, so you’re also one of Mr. Edward’s fans,” Diana again looked so excited.

“Not really, I just like him as a normal woman. But I’m not interested in all those scandals you guys are talking about. Never mind, we’re going to have a meeting soon. Let’s hurry up and get ready,” Felicia said, changing the subject.

The group of women fans of Mr. Edward dispersed after they had caused a stir in the office. It looked like the men in the office had to start being wary. Because a man named Edward alone could bring almost every woman in the city to her knees.

Felicia tidied up all the files she needed for the meeting. She got up from her chair and prepared to head to the meeting room. But the sound of an incoming message on her cell phone stopped her in her tracks.

“I’m not coming home tonight.”

Felicia smiled as she read the text message. She twitched her fingers, replying to the message with lightning speed.

“That’s good, I have a lot to do tonight.”

After sending the message, Felicia immediately put her cell phone on silent mode. She stuffed it into her pants pocket and headed for the meeting room.

“Thanks for the ride, I’ll treat you to dinner tomorrow,” Felicia said as she smiled and waved at a man in the car.

The man waved back briefly, then sped off, leaving the courtyard area of Felicia’s luxurious home.

The girl’s smile faded as the car disappeared from her sight. She turned around and walked towards her house, which was very quiet, as Felicia was the only one living there.

As soon as she opened the door, a man was sitting on the sofa in a relaxed manner. Staring at Felicia, with a pair of eyes that barely blinked.

“I thought someone said I wouldn’t be home tonight,” Felicia said as she took her shoes off her feet.

The girl walked over and sat on the man’s lap without being asked.

“If I hadn’t come home, maybe I wouldn’t have caught my wife, who has a man drop her off every day, promising to have dinner with them,” Edward said.

Felicia swallowed, feeling like she was being watched by paparazzi right now.

“Seriously. I only promised to treat them to a meal. I didn’t ask them to eat together,” Felicia argued.

“You don’t like me going home?” the man asked Felicia.

“Me? How could I not be happy. But since you said you weren’t coming home, I didn’t have time to prepare a meal,” Felicia replied spoilingly.

“Anyway, it seems like today’s news was pretty clear. I thought you weren’t coming home because you had to accompany Cristy,” Felicia continued.

“So you’re not even too busy to read today’s news?” the man asked again.

“I’m a busy career woman. But I can make an exception when it comes to you. I even still remember the sentence written by the online magazine. Edward Collin Harvey was rumored to be dating up-and-coming artist Cristy Belesqia. The mass media exclusively covered every move made by Mr. Edward and Miss Cristy who looked so compatible. Will Miss Cristy be the last harbor of love for Edward?”

“So are you jealous?” asked Edward curiously.

“Aaah, what can I do. My husband is so charming. Every woman in this corner of the city is talking about you. Being Mr. Edward’s secret wife is not easy. As long as my money continues to flow smoothly, then I have nothing to worry about.”

And there it was, a secret that had been so tightly sealed. The mysterious side of a mutually beneficial relationship. A man and woman who need each other.

Only a handful of humans and a few close people knew about Felica and Edward’s relationship.

“Are you really just in love with my money? Do you really not feel jealous?” asked Edward. This time, the man’s tone sounded a little pushy. What kind of answer did Edward really want to hear.

Jealousy? What is jealousy. For Felicia, jealousy was a disaster. She had no right to be. From the very beginning, her and Edward’s relationship had not been based on love. And Felicia realized that she didn’t even have the right to have any feelings. Even though Edward was her husband.

“Are you beginning to harbor love for me Mr. Edward?” guessed Felicia.

“I’m afraid you’ll fall for me first when our contract ends,” Edward replied.

“In that case, I will have to work hard to steal all your property so that I don’t become a poor widow.”

Hearing Felicia’s answer made Edward feel a little disturbed. He couldn’t explain it. But clearly, Edward felt uncomfortable.

The man’s hand came up, wrapped around Felicia’s neck, pressing down, so that he could easily reach the girl’s sweet red lips. A kiss that had slowly grown hot and demanded a response was now underway.

The lust between the two could no longer be contained. There were only sighs that echoed throughout the room. Filling a sense of loneliness in the hearts of the man and the woman, who could not be honest about their feelings.
