Once I had slain the neon dogs of the Emerald Gem pack, my gaze drifted to Evangeline, who appeared to have freed herself from Crusty, my trusty jeep. She seemed to be attempting to take advantage of the situation and make a break for it, scouring the area for an escape route.

Stupid girl.

This was my pack, my domain. I knew it like the back of my hand and I could spot her in a heartbeat if she tried to escape.

I had anticipated the Emerald Gem Pack to pull something to get their hands on Evangeline, so when Darin mentioned the strike, I realized it was an ambush. Nevertheless, I needed to travel to the spot to apprehend those neon dogs and ensnare one of those angels to interrogate them. I brought Evangeline along with me because she wouldn't have been secure by herself in the pack house. Some of my men had been drooling over her and I planned to rip off their heads once I was done with this.
