Chapter 3

Leviana's POV

I am finally back home and can't wait to sit down alone in my room as I am about to race up the stairs in the room I spot my grandma sitting down alone staring at a picture of dad, she looks so sad and lonely, I can't leave her at that kind of state so after I changed my dress I found myself in the dining sitting down on the wooden chair and keeping my hands in the wooden table and I clear my throat.

" Levy you're back ". Granny said with a bit of tears being held back, I just knew that she missed dad and I started to feel guilty of how I just left her in the dining last night so I decided to cheer her up in the best way I can.

" Granny do you need any help in the kitchen?".

" There is no need".

And a period of silence falls on us and we do nothing else except to stare at the oak wooden table and then I stare at the black and white striped carpet under the table and couldn't help myself and broke down.

" Granny I am sorry for last night, I just didn't want to get upset and reacted the way I did".

" I hope you're not mad at me ". I said cleaning the tears that started to flow down from my cheeks.

Granny stretched her hand to hold my hand gave a warm smile and said

" I am not upset, I am just worried about you".

" I thought that maybe with everything that has happened in your life you have been damaged beyond repair because you were so sweet and nice when you were a child and then all of a sudden you started to withdraw yourself from the outside world and I thought that everything changed when you met Emma but then she". My granny stopped halfway realizing that she mentioned the name I begged her not to mention last night and she later said.

" I am sorry Levy".

I didn't get why my granny was apologizing because I was the one that made her worried so I decided to prove to her that I am not broken so that she didn't have to worry about me.

" Granny, you know I didn't join a club in my school right" .

" Yes that's what you told me ".

" Well I joined the literature club since I am good at writing". I said forcing out a smile .

" That's good to know, did you also join a club because your friend Maddie is there?".

" No granny, my friend is in drama club although sometimes the drama and literature club do a collab at school for one or two events , I joined the literature club because I am good at writing ".

" Well you are also good at playing the piano, why didn't you join music club?".

After she said it I immediately remembered that Jack is also there in that club and I just despise him so much and then I also remembered that Maddie is also in that club.

" Maddie is also there in the music club".

" Really, which instrument does she play?".

" Granny she doesn't play any instrument, she is good at singing, it's her twin brother Jack that plays the guitar".

" Ohhh, so she has a twin brother , how often do you talk to him".

" Granny I can't even stand him he always thinks that every girl likes him and that his smile can make a girl's heart to stop working".

" Ohhh". Granny said in shock adjusting her lenses

" Yes granny he's just disgusting".

" Watch your mouth Levy he's someone's son".

" Granny he tried to make moves on me ".

" How do you know?". Granny said adjusting her lense and giving me this look as if she is Sherlock Holmes.

" He said that he likes my smile and also pointed out the fact that we were wearing matching clothes".

" That's wonderful Levy you have found yourself a boyfriend ".

" Granny he can never be my boyfriend, he called me Leviathan on purpose,now tell me if any boy that is going to be my boyfriend will call me Leviathan ".

" Levy I don't think you understand how boys work when they want to get your attention ".

" Granny you're making me cringe let's change the topic".

" If you say so ".

" Uhm, Maddie invited me to watch her brother play basketball ".

" He plays basketball ". Granny said giving a small laugh as she was going to take tea.

" That's not the point granny".

" What is the point then , when a boy plays basketball he must be cute and have a good physique".

" Granny, please stop ". I said resting my head on the table.

" Well pardon me for pointing out a fact and I just remembered that you said he plays the guitar ".

" Grannyyyy".

" You have found yourself a Justin Bieber but please don't be Selena Gomez that cries over him for years".

" Granny".

" Okay so what's the point that you want to make". Granny said putting her cup of tea down on the table

" Well I don't want to go for the tournament ".

" I'm sorry Levy but I'm not supporting you on this one ".

" Why? ".

" Well Maddie is your friend and she invited you as a good friend you turn up for her".

" I see your point ".

" And you might one day also introduce me to Jack ". Granny said winking her eye, she looked weird but cute as she did it

" Granny not Jack again I think I made a mistake telling you about this Jack ".

" No you didn't, when it's the perfect time you will realize that you did the right thing because you will need my blessings ".

" Granny I think that's enough for now I'll find something to eat".

I am so glad that things are actually cool between me and granny she's the coolest person on the planet and if anything happens to her I will loose any amount of humanity left in me. After dinner I found myself in my room again with the white carpet on the floor and my purple colored room and my purple bedsheets. I can't believe I am making another friend after what Emma did well that's what I'll have to do in order for my granny not to be worried at least tomorrow is Friday after that I'll stay in my house on Saturday and Sunday . I just remembered that I gave Maddie my phone number that means I have to start using my phone and be like any normal teenager that gets glued to their screen and then I later see a text message from Maddie telling me of how excited she is and she wants to have a sleepover with me one day, the thought of me doing a sleepover with someone makes me cringe and I respond that if I'll be free hopefully one day we will have a sleepover.

Jack's POV

I am just staring at Maddie without blinking my eyes for once because she had been squealing for so long that I couldn't control myself.

" Right now there is no difference between you and a pig when it sees mud, why are you so happy?". I asked Maddie.

" Well I asked Leviana if she will agree to come over for a sleepover and she said one of these Saturdays she will try and come over but she needs permission from her grandma".

" That's good news ".

" For me not for you because when she comes over I don't want her to get disgusted by your attitude ".

" Don't worry I'll be busy living my own life I won't bother you girls".

" Okay Maddie I am going to sleep don't trouble me".

I enter my bedroom where a poster of Kelly Oubre junior is hanging in my room I always admired the way he dresses and couldn't get any sleep that night just staring at the wall and thinking of Leviana, I don't know why I can't stop thinking of her and I hope that I eventually get rid of her from my thoughts. So since I can't sleep that night I decided to wile away time by drawing random things and then I decided to start on a particular work .

I woke up this morning feeling a bit tensed why because Saturday is the basketball tournament and we are playing against the twelfth class, yeah our seniors.

It's even worst because the girls for some reason go crazy for senior boys I don't understand what's the use at the end of the day we are all boys. I came to school early and was at the school hallway and then I saw Leviana in her floral pattern dress and brown boots and her straight hair. I immediately shifted my gaze from her I don't want her to catch me staring at her, before I realize it a commotion comes from the boys locker room and into the school hallway our seniors were running down the hall with full force that some girls even fell to the ground and some boys were hit against the locker against my self will I found myself rushing to shield Leviana from the horrible attack from the seniors and right now she is in between the locker and me looking scared and surprised at the same time.

Leviana's POV

This morning was going great I woke up and didn't have to make a conversation with anyone mostly after what Jack did I thought I will be interviewed by a lot of people asking me questions about him and then suddenly I hear some of my classmates happily and loudly gossiping about the basketball tournament and they even started to mention the seniors name, that was none of my business I headed straight for my locker to get my stuffs and then a few stamped by the senior boys later I find Jack leaning towards me until there is almost no space between us, I don't understand why he did that but I could assume that due to the stamped he was pushed towards my direction and then for a moment I didn't seem to understand why we started to stare into each others eyes for so long that I can start seeing my reflection in his eyes. He then places his right arm on my upper arm

" Are you okay?". Jack asked his voice was soft and deliberate just as his touch and his intense stare made me have a different feeling.

" Yes I'm alright".

Things get awkward as he moves a bit closer and his other hand is around my waist and he leans closer to my face just to whisper.

" I know I'm cute but please stop making eye contact with me, besides I can see you blushing". He said with an evil grin on his face

I rolled my eyes in disgust and pushed him away so that I can get some fresh air and not the colone he wears. I start making steps towards the classroom but before I do I turn around and tell him.

" By the way you are such a weakling for those boys to be able to push you like that".

" Who told you that I was pushed by them?".

" Isn't it obvious". I said folding my arms.

Jack's POV

Leviana just asked me a question and moved a step forward , how will I tell her that I did it to protect her so that she won't fall down I don't want her to think that I care about her a whole Jack James Andrew being caught showing care towards someone nope not in my days of high school, I could be caught doing that when I'm stuck in a dead end job or already halfway in fulfilling my dreams but certainly not now.

" I asked you a question". Leviana said with her arms still crossed and I felt as if she was display her dominance mostly now that I'm going to get caught in the question she just asked. So I just casually kept my hands in my pockets looked at her and said.

" I don't need to explain myself".

" And don't tell me you didn't enjoy the closeness we had few minutes ago ". I said with a smug on my face as I walked past her, I could hear angry and annoyed steps that her boots made as she was trying to catch up with me and all of a sudden it just stopped abruptly so I casually turned around to see why she stopped just to find out that she sprained her ankle as she was trying to catch up to me. Unlike other girls that will scream in pain and wait for me to help them get up, she picked herself up and pretend like she didn't just sprain her ankle that girl is just so different from other girls and that's why she didn't fall for any of my charms. As classes started sometimes I couldn't help myself but steal a few glances of Leviana and as time went by I started becoming more nervous because of the match and all I can do was to sit down there and act as if I'm not bothered by it but my bro Brett noticed it and he literally started to make the whole class chant my name just for me to feel better well it helped a bit but not entirely I need to "get my head in the game" according to Zac Efron when he was acting in highschool musical.
