Chapter 1

A rogue is in our borders? This was such a new thing since every rogue never dare enter our grounds. They are afraid to do so. 

“To think that they would ask you to be on the lead with the troupe that will be sent to that rogue... aren't they belittling you?”

Leon started mumbling as if he was trying to encourage me be mad. Honestly, doesn't he have some important matters to attend to? Then why is he here in my backyard? Is he even permitted to do so?

Hah, never mind that. I'll just stay silent and continue 

"Shut up Leon, that ain't belittling him“

”And what it is that you know about that huh? Evan? Evan Landerson~“

It was Leon who tried to make fun of Evan. The two of them have never been at a good pace. Ha, that is just the way they are. But to think that Evan and Lea are fated with each other, there is no doubt that Leon will find Evan annoying. I somehow chuckled as I saw the two quarrels. 

”Onni—“

Lea didn't continue her words as he saw how his brother and his lover are fighting with each other.

”You know what? I'm done with the both of you“ she muttered as she landed her gaze in my direction.

”Heya“

She greeted me with her timid smile. I bet she also heard about the announcement that is stated a while ago. Truly, even I find it surprising.  Not to mention that it was my first ever mission after being entitled as someone that is next in line with the highest ranking and our wolvendom.

”I heard about the news...  I mean I...  hart it when the elders say that from a while ago... umm I don't know what to say but... do your best! We will be cheering in the back for you“

I let out a small smile. ”Thank you, Lea“

She is truly a nice child. Hah, how funny of me to think she is but a child when she is already at the fine age for marriage.  I unconsciously pat her head as my brother's instinct kick on me. She is the same age as my little sister. Maybe that is also why I feel like she is like a younger sister to me.

”Hey Sebastian, that's my younger sister. You have your own don't touch her with that filthy hand“

Evan let out a laughing voice as he can't help but think how Leon act like a weird siscon. 

”What?“ 

He stated with a glaring voice.

Maybe this kind of atmosphere is nice too. After all, tomorrow,  when the sun finally rises... 

My mission will then take off.

“Show yourself before us” I speak with great confidence as we face the entrance of a cave that is inside our borders. Even if my voice can hear covering the whole place, no person dared to reply to me.

I look at my back only to see the troops that are waiting on my command.  As much as I wanted to, I don’t dare start any commotion that may give a horrible backlash towards us.  It is not that I am saying... that the troops that are with me today are those who are lack power.   As of now... each and every move or action that I take is going to be watched by many eyes and they’re waiting for me to do something let me take back my title is the next line today the ranking of an alpha. 

I am sure that some would dare shake my title as the heir of the alpha ranking.

“It seems like you don't want to talk,  show yourself before we use our forces to make you out of that place“

 I’m not sure about the reason why he is here but the only thing that I should think about is that this first mission of mine shouldn’t be a failure.

Looking at those people that are with me, I can't help but be alarmed. They must be thinking that I am all talk and no move. Even though I've already proven myself ever since. 

Hah. Let's not mind their questioning gazes. I let my sight fall in the direction of the cave. I can sense it. There is a faint scent of being that is inside. But... there is a stinky smell also that keeps on covering the surrounding of the inside. 

I must be cautious.  We do not know what are those inside this...

 “I will head inside first.  Guard the surrounding sand make sure that no one will every day get out of these boundaries.  Is it clear?

”

 “Sir yes sir

”

 All the troops that are under my command do just what I said.  In this cave, it was dark and I can say that without the traits I have as a wolf I cannot see what is inside.  

 Making my senses much higher, I can then confirm to say that there is indeed a person that is hiding inside this place.  It is odd since

the surrounding seems to be covered with miasma. What is that thing that makes this kind of smell? It makes me want to vomit.

I focus my thoughts as I tried to be on guard. Anytime, that person can show itself. I walk to the deeper part of the cave and every step I take makes a sound that can be easily heard by those who are present before me. I can say that this is annoying since I can't hide myself.

Even so, what is the point of hiding if from the very start I let him know my existence? The smell keeps on getting stronger. I wince in dissatisfaction as I feel like my nose is burning. 

Cough

I can't handle it, his smell—

...

I halt for a second. What was that just now? is it just my imagination or is there a unique smell I sniff?

I saw a silhouette of a man that is sitting on a big round stone as I tried to use my eye senses making me have a somehow night vision. That is also one of the skills that we pure-blooded wolves have. And as for me, I have higher skills than any ordinary wolves for I am but the son of the alpha and Luna.

The figure didn't move for some while. I would think it is a statue if I didn't hear his breathing.

“We ask for nothing but peace. Ask anything that you want and we will grant it, even so, after that... We shall never see your face again”

I declared.  I know for sure that he wanted something in our place. Even so, if that is something so senseless and out of the bucket then there is no way in this universe, I would grant it.

Surely, this place of our pack is better than any other pack but we can't be guaranteed to offer him anything he wanted. I said those but surely, he would understand that there is still limitation about it. Right?

“You said anything that I want?"

I then saw him moving from his seat. Standing up and slowly walked as his steps echoed in my ear. I finally saw a glimpse of his face as the light came from the shaft. The light from the outside of the cave had reflections making it seems like the inside part have small lighting. 

I gulp. Why does this man feel odd? He is surely trying to make an intimidating aura but there is something weird in him that I can't explain. 

The only thing I heard is these...

”Alright then... I'm bringing you with me”

And he then threw something on the ground as he grabs my arm. With that, I feel like we fall into the abyss of darkness.
