ARABELLA

That…stings. Foolish me thought he really cared but it turns out he just wanted a flawless bride.

I was a fool for hoping anyway, when he made it clear that I was nothing but an accessory to get the throne.

Hear that Aurora? He doesn’t care about us. He just wanted to use us.

“Dinner’s downstairs. Eat, then get some rest. We’re flying to Romania tomorrow.”

“Can I take a short walk first before sleeping?” I asked.

His jaw hardened. “You can,”

“After taking a short walk can I watch a movie?”

He drew a deep breath then nodded.

“After watching a movie can I read a book?”

He exhaled sharply. I bit my lower lip aware that I had completely pissed him off.

“Do whatever you want,” he snapped. “Just make sure you won’t wake up with dark circles around your eyes,”

I bit my lip harder to suppress my laughter. “Rest assured that I will wake up as perfect as I am, Alpha Lucien,”

I thought he would leave after getting the assurance that he needed but he was still standing in front of me while staring at my hair.

“We should dye your hair black. Sienna has black hair,”

I nodded.

It didn’t hold any value to me anyway. Adrian was always complimenting how unique my hair was, so I used to apply every treatment I could just to keep it healthy. But right now, it means nothing to me. It’s just hair. I wouldn’t even care if they dyed it green.

“I’ll call a hairdresser before we fly to Romania,” he said.

“That’s all?”

He nodded. He was about to step out when I called him which stopped him in his tracks.

“What?” he asked irritation laced in his tone.

Just let him go, Arabella. Just keep your mouth shut.

I did everything to convince myself to be quiet but the question I had been dying to ask still slipped. “Are you close with Sienna?”

His brows knotted, nearly meeting in the middle.

I cleared my throat. You are really running towards death Arabella.

“I just want to know more information about her. Alpha Ronan give me all the basic information but I want to know her deeper. I was hoping you were close with since you are close with Alpha Ronan—“

“We just had a few interactions. I don’t know anything about her,” he cut me off.

My eyes squinted. Is he telling the truth? If he barely knows the woman then why did he kill her? Maybe that old woman is lying? If she is then why does Alpha Ronan seem to be holding a grudge against Lucien?

My life is already a mess but what happened to Sienna is already messing with my head.

I want to know what happened to her. I want to know if Lucien really killed her because if he did then Aurora would probably lose all her trust in this man.

I stared at him, wanting to push the issue, but I chose to bite my tongue and forced a smile. “I’ll just ask the omegas Alpha Ronan will send to serve me.”

He gave me a small nod before stepping out of the room, holding the basin and cloth that he used on me.

When he left I couldn’t help but glance at my feet. It still has a few cuts but it would probably heal in a few hours…if Aurora healed it. If not then it would probably take a few days.

Fortunately, my right leg which was shot by Kael was treated by the old woman. I don’t know what kind of herbal she used but it seems to be working. The wound is still there but I can now walk without feeling any pain. It would probably take a few days to heal but I’ll just wear long dresses to cover it up.

I was too tired to go downstairs but when my stomach growled I could no longer go against it. I haven’t eaten anything. My last meal was on Adrian’s birthday and it was just a wine and few meats and crackers.

“Good evening Lady Sienna,” women in black and white uniforms greeted in unison. They stood below the stairs, bowing their heads.

Were they there earlier? I hadn’t noticed them. Or maybe I was too focused on staring at Lucien’s jaw to even bother glancing around.

The huge staircase almost took me ten minutes just to climb down and this mansion’s ceiling was no joke either. It feels like even if I get twenty times taller I still couldn’t reach it. No wonder women go crazy over Lucien. He has a fortune that will allow his woman to just sleep their entire life and still live comfortably.

“Your dinner is ready, Lady Sienna,” the old woman who stood in front said the moment I reached the last step.

Lady Sienna. I need to get used to that name. I should kill Arabella and start living as Sienna.

I smiled at the old woman. They turned their back though before I could even say something. They started walking like a battalion and I quietly tailed them.

If I am treated this way in Lucien’s mansion what more if I live in the palace? I would just probably flick my finger and everything that I wanted would be given to me.

When we reached the dining hall, my eyes widened in shock seeing all the food they had prepared.

There are different kinds of steaks and pasta. Even expensive seafoods were served on the table. There are also fruits and vegetables on the side.

“I don’t think I can finish all that,” I told the old woman but she just smiled at me and gestured at the dining table.

A young helper pulled a chair for me.

I felt overwhelmed with all the food served, I don’t think I can start eating.

“Join me please,” I looked at each one of them. “I don’t think I can finish all this food,”

The old woman shook her head and spoke. “Omegas are forbidden to share a meal with your kind, Lady Sienna,”

I know the ranking. I am fully aware of that but being in the higher rank doesn’t mean superiority but rather a responsibility to rule and care for those who look up to you.

“Join me please,” I insisted.

“Alpha Lucien won’t like it—“

“I will deal with him,” I assured. “There is nothing wrong with eating together,”

If he punished me for doing this then he isn’t deserving to become an Alpha King.

LUCIEN My grip loosened. "W-Who?" I asked, losing my composure. The omega looked at me, blood gushing out of her neck. "L-Lady V-Valeria paid m-me to p-poison your m-mate," I knew it. I shouldn't have underestimated Valeria’s suspicion. The moment she met the rogue, she already noticed that something was wrong. I should have kept a close eye on her. She's Alpha Magnus' daughter after all. She wouldn't stop until her suspicion was proven right. "What will you do now, Alpha Lucien? Should we take Lady Valeria and bring her here?" Alaric asked. I shook my head. "I will deal with her. Deal with this rogue for me and make sure whatever happens here will never reach anyone...especially my father," "You'll still protect Lady Valeria even if she tried to kill your fated mate, Alpha Lucien?" Elias asked. His tone was laced with respect but I know he was against my decision.I looked at him and nodded. “Alpha Magnus will be involved if we do something to Valeria. I'll deal with this on m

LUCIEN “Alpha Lucien!” Cressida, the omega who serves me shouted when I almost lost my balance. In a split second, it feels like my strength was pulled out. ‘Our mate,’ Jaxon spoke. ‘Something happened to our mate, Lucien,’ I tried to act like it didn’t affect me but before I could manipulate my mind, my feet were already moving on their own. My steps were quick, slicing through the crowded hallway filled with omegas who were busy decorating the grand hall. “Fucking move!” I growled. The omegas started moving like scared cats, pressing their body on the wall so they wouldn’t block my path. My footsteps were fast until they turned into a run. I have navigated each part of this palace but this is the first time I realized how big it is. Why is it taking me so long to reach the rogue’s chamber?! After what feels like eternity of running I finally saw the door of her chamber. Omegas are plucking around, like they are watching something interesting. “What happened?” “Is she de

ARABELLANo. He can't mark me. If I let him mark me then that means I am submitting to him. We haven't sealed the bond yet but my wolf was already out of my control, what more if I let him claim me? What would happen to me then? Will I be a slave to him? Will I do everything he wanted? "I have to do something," I walked back and forth while biting my nails. "Think, Arabella. Think..."I racked my brain, thinking of ways to escape that marking ceremony. Should I just run away? Will Lucien hunt me if I do that? Or maybe I should call Alpha Ronan? I should ask for his help. “Lady Sienna,” My head snapped towards the door when I heard a familiar voice, it was the two omegas who dressed me as Sienna. The older woman looked at me straight in the eyes while the younger one bowed politely.“We received a letter from the palace. You will be marked tonight,” the old woman spoke. It feels like a light bulb lit up. Right. They are here to rescue me. I quickly grabbed my bag that wa

ARABELLA“M-Marked?” I blurted out.I know I shouldn’t be part of the conversation. Lucien made it clear that I should just shut my mouth but how can I do that when the King is ordering him to claim me?“Why?” King Tobias looked at me. “You don’t want my son to mark you, Sienna?”I glanced at Lucien who was already watching me sharply. If his father wasn’t here I would probably be begging for air again.“I-It’s not like t-that K-King Tobias but isn’t it too soon?” I let out a nervous laugh. “T-The blood moon w-will appear i-in a few months can’t we j-just wait for that?”King Tobias smiled. “I don’t want to scare you but once the news spreads that Lucien has already found his mate, your life will be put in danger. Werewolves who were hungry for power will be after your head. They will do everything to take your place just to make their daughters the new Queen, right Magnus?”Alpha Magnus who was quietly standing beside King Tobias nodded. “Yes, King Tobias,”King Tobias held Alpha Mag

ARABELLA He smirked. Five seconds of silence passed before he nodded. “Yeah. I would kill you, Arabella,” Those words feel like a sharp dagger piercing through my chest but I smile through the pain, acting like his words didn’t create a hole. I didn’t say a word, I simply looked at him but he cut the stare and cleared his throat. “Let’s head inside. They must be waiting,” I didn’t respond. I just quietly followed him. The Royal Guards bowed at the sight of Lucien. None dared to block his path. He navigated the hallway like he owned everything his foot landed. At the end of the hall, another massive wooden door, intricately carved with vines, swung open to reveal a grand hall likely used for balls. In its center stood a gigantic staircase with gleaming gold railings. Adrian wasn’t exaggerating. This palace really seems unreal. I kept on following Lucien while my eyes feasted on the intricate design of the hall. “Did you grow up in the palace?” I asked, my voice mixed with the s

ARABELLA I let out a nervous laugh and took a step back. I glanced at Lucien seeking help but the asshole seems to be having fun seeing me in panic “Uhm m-maybe it w-was my perfume?” I chuckled and sniffed myself too. “I love s-spraying strong perfume on m-my body,” Valeria’s brows furrowed. “What do you mean by perfume? Werewolves have a distinct scent, Sienna. It doesn't changed,” I glanced at Lucien again and this time he finally said a word. “Maybe you remember it wrong, Valeria. It’s been a long time since you last saw Sienna, remember?” Valeria pouted like she was thinking. Her eyes remained glued to me, staring at me intently. “Yeah,” she finally nodded. “Maybe I am wrong,” Her confusion was replaced with a smile and I thought I could get away from her after that, but she clung to me. “I missed you, Sienna,” she leaned her head on my shoulder. “It’s boring here in the palace. You promised will visit me every year but it took you a long time to come back. And now t
