LOGINARABELLA
They threw glances at each other. The old woman remained firm but the younger ones looked like they were considering my offer. I looked at the old woman and pouted. “I feel uncomfortable eating while you’re just watching me,” “Then we will leave, Lady Sienna,” Shit! No! That’s not what I meant. I stood in panic and held the old woman’s hand but she pulled her hand gently and hid it behind her. “My hands are not clean, Lady Sienna,” I felt my chest tighten when I heard those words. They shouldn’t see themselves this way. Rankings exist in Blood Fang Pack but omegas never treat themselves like this. Yes, they do serve those who are in high rankings but they have their rights and were never treated like they don’t hold any value. “I am Alpha Lucien’s mate, her soon-to-be wife, and the next Queen of the Kingdom. Rejecting my offer means rejecting Alpha Lucien, isn’t it?” I don’t want to impose the power that I hold. I don’t want them to think that I am above them but if it is the only way to make them eat with me, then I don’t have any choice. The old woman glanced at the younger ones. She gave them a nod and the next thing I knew we were happily eating together. Now the food tastes even better. I will never understand anyone who eats while someone watches them with a growling stomach. I don’t think I could chew my food if I were put in that position. “What’s happening here?” Lucien’s voice echoed in the dining hall. The omegas stood up in panic but I gestured for them to stay seated. I smiled at them before I rose from my seat. I walked towards Lucien who was eyeing me sharply. He looks at me like I committed a grave crime when I just shared a meal with his helpers. “What do you think you’re doing?” he hissed the moment I got close. I didn’t respond. I passed by him and headed outside. Lucien followed me, his heavy footsteps enveloping my ear. When we reached the garden I turned to face him. The dim light coming from a lamp post allows me to see the darkness in his eyes. He looks mad but I won’t let him intimidate me. I folded my arms on my chest and raised my eyebrows at him. “What?” His jaw ticked. He was probably murdering me inside his head. I know I always get into his nerves and I somehow like it. If I ended up dying in his hands at least, I pissed him off. “Why did you share a meal with the omegas?” he asked through gritted teeth. I sighed. “What’s wrong with that? Foods are meant to be shared,” “And you intend to act like this inside the palace? Act like a fucking saint and dismantle the ranking?” I can’t help but let out a sarcastic laugh. “I just shared a meal with the omegas Lucien. Why are you making a big deal out of it?!” “Alpha Lucien,” he corrected, voice thick with cold authority. I don’t feel intimidated by anyone. Leading the Blood Fang Pack for years and taking the responsibility of being a Luna and an Alpha at the same time toughened me. I shouldn’t feel intimidated especially by the Alphas. I don’t want them to see me as a weak woman who can’t lead a pack but standing in front of Lucien with seething anger shaken up my tough demeanor. I cleared my throat and kept my head high even though my knees were already wobbling from our distance. “What will you do now?” I asked, forcing my voice to steady. “You will punish me for treating everyone as my equal?” He took another step, closing the gap between us. I felt his warmth travel on my skin…and after hours of being gone, I felt Aurora’s presence again. “You’re hard to tame aren’t you? For a rogue whom I can easily discard you don’t seem to hold any fear?” Because I am not a rogue asshole. I led a pack for years and led the war to protect our territory. I am good at hiding my fear, Lucien. If only I could say those words to his face. “You still need me,” I bravely spoke. “You can’t kill me yet so why would I be scar—“ Before I could finish what I was about to say, Lucien grabbed my throat and dug his claws into my neck. I can’t…. I-I c’can’t breathe… A-Aurora… I felt my eyes burn as if any minute they would pop out. My lungs started to beg for air but there’s nothing coming in. I tried to hold his wrist to unwrap his fingers that were caging my neck but my hold slipped off. My vision turned hazy but before I could be thrown into the pit of darkness my body fell to the ground. I weakly held my neck to suppress the blood while I slowly lifted my head to look at Lucien who didn’t seem to regret what he did. He will really kill me. It wasn’t just a threat. He was really capable of killing me. You were wrong, Aurora. The mate bond won’t save us. “It’s not like I can’t kill you at any moment, rogue. I simply choose not to,” he said coldly. “I want you to wait for your death in fear, knowing it could come at any time. That’s what you deserve. Your kind deserves to live in fear.” He crouched down until his eyes were level with mine. “Don’t provoke me again. Next time you disobey me, I won’t hesitate to kill you. Do you understand?” Tears brimmed in my eyes not out of fear but for Aurora’s pain that I couldn’t suppress. “Do you understand?!” Lucien shouted. My body didn’t flinch but I felt my heart drop. With tears pooling in my eyes, I nodded. “Yes, Alpha Lucien,”Arabella’s POV I stared at the ceiling. The words Lucien had uttered played inside my head in a loop. That asshole really knows how to mess with my head. “Alpha Lucien said you’re already sleeping,” I was pulled back from my train of thought when I heard Martha’s voice. My eyes darted to the door and there I saw the old lady who seemed to be carrying the world on her shoulders. “You should rest. You almost died earlier,” she added. Instead of listening, I sat on my bed. “What exactly happened, Martha? I was poisoned, right? Who did it? Did they catch the culprit?” These are the questions I am dying to ask Alpha Lucien but I didn’t even get a chance. I was busy dodging questions about Adrian and forgot to ask about what happened. Martha shook her head. “I heard they were searching the palace and even the nearest territory but up until now the culprit hasn’t been found,” “The dress…” I pointed out. “Who received the dress?” I looked at Martha then at Andrea who was
Arabella’s POV Why did I even call that asshole’s name? Why did I even have a nightmare about him? “He’s no one,” I replied, eager to drop the conversation. I don’t want to talk about the man who put me in this situation. I don’t want to talk about the man whom I poured everything that I have but still ended up discarding me like I was nothing. I don’t want to talk about him. I hate talking about him. “Then why were you crying while calling him? Did he accuse you of something? Why are you begging him?” I hate Lucien but I hate him more now. Why is he so nosy? I took a deep breath to calm myself and looked straight at Lucien’s eyes. “Adrian is an asshole. I was accused of a crime I didn’t commit and he believed it,” “Is he a rogue like you?” “Yeah,” I shortly responded. I just want to end the conversation and drink some water. My mouth was too dry and even swallowing was hard but Lucien doesn’t seem to care. All he wants is for his questions to be answered to satisfy
LUCIEN "Where should we put this, Alpha Lucien?" I glanced at the two omegas Alpha Ronan had sent to serve his fake daughter. They were holding a bunch of dresses and a box jewelries. "Just put them inside my closet," I simply responded. I watched how they filled my chamber with colorful stuff that perfectly ruined my minimalistic style. I am already annoyed by how her things occupy my space, what more if she wakes up and treats my chamber as her own? “Do you want us to request another bed so you can rest, Alpha Lucien?” the old omega asked. I shook my head. “It’s fine. Just leave if you’re done,” “We have to look after Lady Sienna—“ “I will take care of her,” The old omega watched me with hesitation. She glanced at the young omega she was with, before she turned her head back to me and politely bowed. “Just call us if you need something, Alpha Lucien,” I didn’t respond. I simply watched them as they stepped out of my chamber and when I am all alone I freely watch
LUCIEN My grip loosened. "W-Who?" I asked, losing my composure. The omega looked at me, blood gushing out of her neck. "L-Lady V-Valeria paid m-me to p-poison your m-mate," I knew it. I shouldn't have underestimated Valeria’s suspicion. The moment she met the rogue, she already noticed that something was wrong. I should have kept a close eye on her. She's Alpha Magnus' daughter after all. She wouldn't stop until her suspicion was proven right. "What will you do now, Alpha Lucien? Should we take Lady Valeria and bring her here?" Alaric asked. I shook my head. "I will deal with her. Deal with this rogue for me and make sure whatever happens here will never reach anyone...especially my father," "You'll still protect Lady Valeria even if she tried to kill your fated mate, Alpha Lucien?" Elias asked. His tone was laced with respect but I know he was against my decision.I looked at him and nodded. “Alpha Magnus will be involved if we do something to Valeria. I'll deal with this on m
LUCIEN “Alpha Lucien!” Cressida, the omega who serves me shouted when I almost lost my balance. In a split second, it feels like my strength was pulled out. ‘Our mate,’ Jaxon spoke. ‘Something happened to our mate, Lucien,’ I tried to act like it didn’t affect me but before I could manipulate my mind, my feet were already moving on their own. My steps were quick, slicing through the crowded hallway filled with omegas who were busy decorating the grand hall. “Fucking move!” I growled. The omegas started moving like scared cats, pressing their body on the wall so they wouldn’t block my path. My footsteps were fast until they turned into a run. I have navigated each part of this palace but this is the first time I realized how big it is. Why is it taking me so long to reach the rogue’s chamber?! After what feels like eternity of running I finally saw the door of her chamber. Omegas are plucking around, like they are watching something interesting. “What happened?” “Is she de
ARABELLANo. He can't mark me. If I let him mark me then that means I am submitting to him. We haven't sealed the bond yet but my wolf was already out of my control, what more if I let him claim me? What would happen to me then? Will I be a slave to him? Will I do everything he wanted? "I have to do something," I walked back and forth while biting my nails. "Think, Arabella. Think..."I racked my brain, thinking of ways to escape that marking ceremony. Should I just run away? Will Lucien hunt me if I do that? Or maybe I should call Alpha Ronan? I should ask for his help. “Lady Sienna,” My head snapped towards the door when I heard a familiar voice, it was the two omegas who dressed me as Sienna. The older woman looked at me straight in the eyes while the younger one bowed politely.“We received a letter from the palace. You will be marked tonight,” the old woman spoke. It feels like a light bulb lit up. Right. They are here to rescue me. I quickly grabbed my bag that wa
