When I carried my suitcase down the hotel steps, the first person I saw was Jasper standing in the center of the lobby.
His posture was casual, yet he held the characteristic light energy of a young wolf.
His eyes lit up when he saw me. He rushed over and took my suitcase.
"Let me carry that. Our home is your home now. My family already loves you."
On the drive back, he was like an excited pup, chattering non-stop about the interesting things happening in their pack.
I knew he was trying to introduce the family and put me at ease.
The warmth of his thoughtfulness touched my heart.
Halfway there, I pulled out my phone to browse the news, only to find Selene's latest post.
She was sitting in a soft chair by a floor-to-ceiling window, resting her chin on her hand.
The two ridiculously expensive bracelets on her wrist flashed blindingly in the sun.
"Happy Birthday, and Happy Six-Year Anniversary. I

Elena's POVWhen I woke up again, I was lying in a hospital bed. The harsh smell of antiseptic covered my wolf's scent. Lyra was curled up inside, clearly uncomfortable with the environment.A doctor spoke softly. "You have a mild concussion. You need to be here for two more days."I nodded."The CEO of Nightshade Group will cover all medical expenses for the injured. That includes yours."I managed a bitter smile. He would do anything for Selene. After the IV drip finished, the drugs calmed my wolf. I drifted back into a deep sleep. When I woke up, it was the next day—the day Zander and I would be officially mated. My phone lit up with a message from Jasper."Don't bother with recording today. I'm coming to pick you up and take you home to us!"The words "home" felt warmer than sunlight and more comforting than any wolf pack's fire. But I wasn't used to inconveniencing people. After staring blankly f
Elena's POVMy heart tightened. I quickly answered. "Director, calling so late...""Elena, I'm really sorry."The director sounded helpless and embarrassed."We... found a voice actor who is a better fit for the role. You don't need to come in to sign the contract the day after tomorrow."My heart plummeted, sinking into an ice bath. This wasn't the first time. But I truly loved Gina, that resilient female character. After a long silence, I couldn't help but ask, "Can you tell me... who replaced me?""It was Selene."Of course. The voice on the other end sighed, hesitating."Nightshade Group is the biggest investor in this show. The CEO himself intervened, saying her voice was more suitable for Gina... I couldn't do anything.""Elena, you're a great voice actor. I believe you'll find better roles soon..."I was filled with self-mockery and stopped listening to the director's platitudes. I quickly hung up.The phone rang again immediately.Still reeling from the shock, I instinctively
Elena's POVI genuinely used to love his embrace.Back then, as he sat in his wheelchair, his arms carried the faint, bitter scent of salve and herbs, mixed with his uniquely comforting body heat. But now, my entire body was screaming in rejection. The mix of Selene's pheromones clinging to him made me gag."How many times do I have to tell you to stop bothering me?""In my heart, you cheated a long time ago.""The mate I want wouldn't buy an entire private island for another she-wolf, set off fireworks for her, and act intimate beneath them.""I'm begging you, just stop disgusting me, okay?"He stiffened all over. In his panic, he grabbed my hand, trying to confirm something. The next second, his movement froze."...The bracelets?" The deep crimson in his eyes exploded. His voice trembled violently."Tell me! The wooden bracelets I carved for you—where are they?!""I threw them away." I looked at him. I wasn't lying. The day I moved out, I sold all my valuables. After the second-hand
Elena's POVThe late-night wind, damp with fog, swept up from the river channel.I had just walked out of the recording studio and hadn't even had time to fully button up my coat when a massive, suffocatingly familiar scent washed over me.Pine resin, cold iron, and that hint of ozone before a thunderstorm—Pheisar's Alpha aura, wrapped around his wolf, instantly crushed all the other surrounding scents.I was about to turn around, but a sudden, sharp pain hit my lower back. He lunged from behind like an uncontrolled hunting wolf, pinning me hard against the stone wall outside the studio. The rough stone scraped my back, sending shivers down my spine. The dim streetlamp clearly illuminated his semi-shifted face—his pupils were completely crimson, like amber soaked in fresh blood. He stared at me, looking like he was trying to tear my soul apart, piece by piece, through my eyes.My wolf, Lyra, snarled low inside me, her ears flattened, her fur standing on end.I gathered every ounce of
Pheisar's POVI was busy until late tonight, back-to-back international meetings leaving me no time to breathe. But the wolf inside me, Chase, wouldn't settle down. He kept reminding me that something was wrong. The night sky felt low and heavy, squeezing my chest until it felt like it would crack.I had just walked out of the conference room when I caught a familiar, annoying scent: Kaia. Her eyes were red-rimmed. She rushed toward me, looking deeply wronged."Pheisar, look what that bitch Elena did to my face! She not only stole my voice role, but she beat me up! You have to teach her a lesson!"I barely looked at her face. The moment she got close, my eyes were drawn to the pink diamond necklace on her neck.It was the custom-made pink diamond necklace I picked out for Elena's birthday last year. I remembered it perfectly. My chest felt clawed open. This was impossible.Elena loved me so much. She treasured everything I gave her, even a leaf. How could she let someone else touch a
