Chelsea's standpoint
"Autumn—"
"Three years, my best friend has been suffering and I didn't know, isn't that fucking great," she said sarcastically.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to bother you—"
"What are friends for if they can't help each other?!" I flinched when she suddenly screamed in anger. Autumn rarely gets angry at me. "Weren't you there for me when my uncle tried to take everything away from me?! You encouraged me to be the amazing person I am today and use my wit to fight. All thanks to you I was able to get help from my godfather and am now the woman I am today—"
"Au—"
"What are you not bothering me for?! I'm sitting on top of millions and my best friend is suffering. Do you know how that makes me feel?!" Do you want to know the truth, I forgot Autumn was fucking rich. She lived her life so simple and plain it always made me forget her parents left millions for her before they died and left her in charge of their hospitals. "And you dare risk Carter's life! Why didn't you call me?! I'm a doctor and own a hospital for Jesus' sake!"
"I'm sorry, I forgot," I murmured. She looked at me like I had grown ten heads. "You know I always forget you are wealthy, even more than us when we still had something,"
"Tell me, what is the problem?"
I sighed and ran my hand into my messy hair. "Dad got into a lot of debts, used the house, mother's restaurant, and his company as collaterals, and then took off with my mother's sister, you know the bitch you detest. We already lost the company and the restaurant, and apparently, they'll be homeless soon. As for Carter, he is having issues with his heart and needs immediate surgery which we cannot afford. Mom's restaurant has been put on sale and she wants it back but there's no money for that. Jake and Jasmine got college admission, no college fee, and now Jasmine is sick."
She inhaled and brought out her phone. "What is the name of the hospital Carter is admitted in?" She asked calmly, all anger gone.
"Let me call Mom," I hurriedly dialed Mother's number, I wasn't going to play proud in a situation like this. Mom answered at the fifth ring.
"Hello?" She sobbed.
"Mom, I just got your messages—"
"Chelsea, my baby isn't going to make it," she burst into tears. I heard shuffling before Jake's voice answered.
"Chels, good morning, did you get my messages?"
"Yes, I did, and I called to announce good news," I grinned.
"Hold on," he probably put the phone on loudspeaker. "Is Jasmine there?"
"Aye," she said weakly.
"Perfect! Remember my friend Autumn?"
"The crazy but hot one who likes eating weird stuff?" Jake asked. Autumn snorted.
"Yes, that fabulous one. She's back like she literally traced me to Washington and gave me a heart attack," I glared at her, and she shrugged.
"So…?"
"Just like me, you all have forgotten Autumn is a billionaire," I laughed. They gasped as realization dawned on them, "Autumn is going to help us, Mom, she wants to know the hospital Carter is admitted to,"
"St Patrick's Local Hospital!" Jasmine shouted out in a splutter. Autumn nodded and gave me a sign to hold on.
"Hold on," I told them. Autumn called someone.
"Good morning, Dr. Sullivan… mm hm… I didn't call to complain about anything. You are doing a great job handling the Philadelphia branch, I commend your work. I, however, need you to carry out an assignment for me, it's very important… Yes, thank you. I want you to transfer a certain Carter…?"
"Henry Boston," I completed.
"Carter Henry Boston from St Patrick's Local Hospital. I need you to get all his medical files, run new scans and tests on him, and fix any health issues he has. All payments should be charged to my account and make sure to treat him to a VIP service because the patient in question is very important to me. You have forty-eight hours to carry out the transfer. The patient is in urgent need of surgery. On no account should the parent of the child be questioned about any financial or uncomfortable topics. Anything you wish to know, you give me a call. Also, Jasmine Eilish Boston is permitted to buy her required drugs from the pharmacy, no questions asked and all charges are on me. When she arrives, give her a silver card and I repeat, treat The Bostons with respect. Once the test is done, give me feedback about Carter's issue and we'll see if I will fly down there to carry out the surgery myself or have someone else do it… yes, I know you are capable of doing it but like I said, give me feedback. Thank you for your help and understanding, Dr. Sullivan, have a nice day."
"Yes!" Mom shrieked excitedly. I already had tears in my eyes.
"What else? The house. What bank is threatening my bestie?" She smirked.
"You don't need to shut down any bank, Autumn," her smirk sagged. "I just need you to wire the money to Jake's account and he will do the payment,"
She rolled her eyes. "Killjoy. One moment," she dialed someone else's number and he picked in a heartbeat. "Jerk face, yes, it's me, you puss licker," I rolled my eyes while Mom coughed. "I need your help with something, can you do it for me?… Of course, you must, are you crazy? You are my slave so you do whatever I want, got it?… Good boy. Now remember all the IOUs you owe me and the birthday wishes I am yet to ask?… Shut up, Archibald, and listen. I want a restaurant, buy me a restaurant."
Mom gasped from the other end of the phone.
"Of course, I won't use it, I'm buying it for someone important… Okay fine, remember that best friend of mine you have a huge crush on?" She winked at me. I frowned, is she using me? Who's the guy? "Yes, her mother lost her restaurant and I want to get it back but with your money, so you are buying it… What do you mean it will cost me five IOUs and three birthday wishes?! That's insane!… No, shut up, you maggot before I carry myself to Philadelphia, show up at your doorstep, chop off your dick, and tape it to your forehead! Don't make me come down there or you're dead, baldie!…" She smirked. "Good boy. It will only cost me two IOUs and one birthday wish, full stop. Don't argue with your goddess. I need you to buy the restaurant back for Ms. Selene Harper Boston before the end of the week. Do that and I'll put in good words for you… Not with Chelsea, you idiot, Ivory…" she rolled her eyes. "Yes, the one with big breasts. I'll manipulate her into dating you…" She moved the phone from her ear as the guy shrieked. "You are such a girl, get me what I asked for, goodbye." She hung up and dropped her phone.
"Are you crying?"
"No," I sobbed, "I just got something in my eyes. Thank you, Autumn."
"Anything for you, honey. Jake and Jasmine, you don't need to worry about your admission and college fees, I'm sure one of my pets would be more than happy to do what I want, we'll handle it later. Here," she slid her phone over to me, "transfer the house money to Jake, you know my passcode."
This was a miracle, all the problems were solved in a few minutes. I quickly sent the money to Jake, gave her back her phone and a huge hug. She laughed and called one of her pets, telling him to send her money for no reason. Autumn is very manipulative and people just can't stop loving her and doing what she says.
"How many pets do you have?"
"Hmm, let me count," she trailed off and started counting her fingers and murmuring names. I cleared the dishes and dropped them in the sink. "Thirty-two…"
"Thirty-two! Autumn! You are sleeping with almost three dozen men!"
"Who said I was sleeping with them?" She laughed as she circled an invisible halo over her head. "Some of them are my adopted older brothers, some are the guys that want to impress me, a few are the ones I control—like Archibald, the ones that owe me for one thing or the other. Oh, two are my friends and three just love how my mouth works wonders on their dicks."
"Aren't you afraid of STD?"
"Hello…? Doctor here, and stop being dramatic, others have more."
"You are not like others!"
"I don't do anything for free, bitch, so payment time. I need a job." She changed the topic.
"Say what?"
"I need a break from medicine and blood, my new dream is to be a diner girl," she said enthusiastically. I walked over to her and touched her forehead.
"You don't feel sick, is this a new mental malfunction?" I asked worriedly, like seriously.
"I'm serious, my new dream is to be a diner girl," she grinned, "I want to work in a diner. Help me?"
"What the hell do you need that petty job for?!"
"Money, fun," she shrugged, "money," she added again. I blinked, not able to comprehend what my friend was saying. "Look, Chelsea, you know how I always follow my instinct and do whatever crazy thing it tells me, this is one of them. I woke up one morning and boom! Eleven years is complete. I sat down and thought, how do I find him? Time to make up for my promise. I didn't even get his name or see his face that clearly since it was messed up and freaking da—"
"Are you talking about the alleyway guy?" She gave me a 'duh' look. Autumn told me she met this alley guy years ago, made a bet with him by instinct, and was going to keep it. "You are still hung up on that guy?"
"I am not hung up, I made a promise. After meditating, my instinct said to come to live here and get a job as a diner girl, that's it. He must be in Washington somewhere and I am going to find him and see if he is doing fine, that's all."
"Autumn, you are still denying your affection for this man?" She glared at me.
"Autumn Glenda Newton doesn't do love," she spat coldly.
"And yet he remains the reason you can't date any guy," I snorted.
"I've never dated in my life," she laughed. "All I do is suck dicks, remember?"
"Yeah right, whatever you say,"
"Are you going to help me get a job? Yes or no?" She huffed.
"Lucky for you, I work at a diner and we need a new employee." She nodded. Autumn liked the guy, but she wasn't aware she liked the guy. I don't know how possible it is to like someone and not be aware of that feeling yet unconsciously act towards the feeling, but Autumn made it possible.
She claimed it was just a promise she wanted to keep, but I knew it was something else, something stronger. Her supernatural instinct led her to that alleyway. We were coming back from a party that night and she just froze while staring at it. The next thing I knew, she left me and went inside only to come back flustered. She lost her family seal that night, though luckily, hadn't had any reason to use it. I know she feels something for the guy, she kept comparing every fling of hers to him even though she claimed she barely saw his face. The whole thing was complicated, and how she didn't know she liked him was more twisted.
Eleven years huh? Let's see if she won't become aware once she meets him again, whoever he is.
Chelsea's standpoint Autumn and I walked into the diner while she talked about the boys she had encounters with. We walked to the counter. I smiled at Stella who was handling it. "Good morning, Stel, how was your night?" "It was amazing," she said, eyeing Autumn lustfully. Stella was into both women and men, mostly women. And with Autumn, there's always an attraction. "And who is this beautiful lady?" "Lady Autumn Of Milan, Italy," Autumn curtsied playfully. "You're Italian?" Stella gasped, she's a sucker for Italians. Autumn chuckled. "Not exactly, studied there. I was born here in America but my maternal grandmother was Italian/Japanese, so technically I'm an American Japanlian," she laughed. Stella laughed at her ridiculous joke. "Well, it's nice meeting you, I'm Stella Rain, by the way. You don't happen to be interested in women, are you?" "Sorry, sweetheart, all dicks and no puss," Autumn smirked. I rolled my eyes. "Fowie," Stella pouted, "but you can still try, I can mak
Chelsea's standpoint I turned to the door when I heard her awed with adoration. Angela's bodyguard brought her for the day, she was terrified and hiding behind him because of Autumn. I sprang to my feet and rushed to the door. "I am so sorry, Neman, I forgot my sister came home, I should have called to inform madam to keep Angela away," "You should have known better," he scolded. I looked at Autumn pleadingly. "Autumn, can you excuse us?" "Why?" "Have you forgotten about the child I told you I babysit for money? I just told you that, like an hour ago. Angela is afraid of people and is mute," "Nonsense," Autumn said with a wave, "she isn't mute, just extremely shy and insecure," "Autumn, she's mute," "Maybe she was. I've met mute children and I know how to handle them. Here, I'll show you," "Autumn…" she knelt and smiled at Angela who was peeping at her. "Hi there, Angel, I'm Autumn and I'm new here. I don't have any friends yet so will you be my friend? We can eat pizza crus
Autumn's standpoint Eleven years, for eleven years I had pictured the day we would meet again, how we would recognize each other. That night, I didn't see his face clearly. I might have had great night vision but it wasn't enough to see his face vividly. I wasn't sure how I would recognize him, but sitting there on the bed and staring at him with my mouth open was unbelievable. Compared to the wreck I saw years ago, this guy was dreamy, so dreamy it felt too real to be true. I rubbed my eyes to make sure it wasn't one of my fantasies again, to make sure I wasn't daydreaming about how he would look or foolishly getting myself wet. He was still there, gawking at me with lips parted and standing there looking like a sexy god who was banished from Olympus and had to blend in with humans. Angela tapped me, making me avert my eyes to her. She pointed at him, asking me if I knew him. "Something like that," I smiled. I averted my eyes back to him. "You look great, got better, huh?" He snapp
Autumn's standpoint He cleared his throat. "A what? Your brain?" He asked sarcastically. "Give me your stupid phone," I huffed. He dipped his hand into his pocket, brought out his phone, unlocked it, and gave it to me. I typed my number in and saved it with my name. I gave it back to him. He smiled cryptically and nodded. "See you tomorrow, Red," he winked at me. I rolled my eyes, causing him to laugh. "Don't call me red or I'll call you Sandy," I glared at him. He ran his tongue over his damask lips and shrugged. "We all have our weird names, my Mom did call me snickl…" he pinned his lips. I burst into laughter as I already knew the full word. "Ah, fuck!" "Snicklefritz? Really?" "Shut up," "It is my turn to laugh," I slid down the door and laughed my ass out while he muttered. He started walking away. "Hey, Snicklefritz snookums! Where are you off to?" "Fuck you, Pussums!" He shouted back. "See you tomorrow, Snookums!" I laughed. The door pulled open, forcing me to crash on
Chelsea's standpoint I sighed as I walked out of the back, my mind focused on Anderson. I wasn't sure he would ever want to meet me again. I was crazy about crushing on my boss. I'd always seen falling for one's boss as a cliche thing and loathed the idea. But now I was rethinking my stance, it wasn't so bad after all. In my defense, I developed a crush before I knew he was my boss and unlike other girls, I wasn't crushing on my boss because he's rich, more like he is cute and good-looking. There, I'm innocent. I froze when I saw the reason for my thoughts sitting on a stool and leaning on the counter with his eyes closed as he shook his head as if trying to scold himself for something. He looked so adorable. "Anderson?" I called quizzically. I mentally scolded myself for calling him by his name, he is my boss for crying out loud. In my defense—again—I'm not in the casino so… He opened his eyes and as soon as he saw me, his face brightened with a smile. "Hi, Chelsea." "H…h…h…hi,"
Mordecai's standpoint I threw my car keys on the table and my suit jacket on the vintage couch. I unbuttoned the first three buttons of my shirt and loosened my tie. Grace, his assistant, walked into the living room. "Go tell my grandfather that I'm here," "He knows, he will be here with you shortly." I nodded at her and dismissed her. I plopped myself on one of the chairs with a puff. Grandpa called me out of my very important meeting, he usually never called me in such a rush. I drummed my fingers anxiously, maybe his health was acting up again. "Mattel," his gruff voice called weakly. I jumped to my feet and went to help him, "don't touch me, I can walk on my own," he said stubbornly. I still held him though to his favorite armchair. "Did Dr. Liam check on you?" "He came in this morning," I returned to my seat. "How is your health? Is it acting up again?" "Yes, and that is why I called you here, Mattel. I really don't want to do this to you but it's the only way to get you t
Mordecai's standpoint (This occurred before he got to Chelsea's apartment) I sat in the backseat of my black convertible Mercedes, typing meticulously. I decided to go with the least expensive car. I usually drive in the least expensive things when I am upset or confused. Call it a weird habit. I was going to ask the most stupid question I had ever asked anyone since I changed my name to Gabriel, and I was looking for all the support I could get, my friends weren't exactly helping. Andy: oh come on, bro, you can't be serious about asking her that? I said take things slow, not scare the shit out of her. Don't you have any more reasons? Me: Well I don't exactly have a choice here, it's either that or I'll have to marry someone else or ruin my brother's life. Williams: I'm in favor of not ruining my life. He wasn't part of the group chat Jaxon created, but Andy added him in the hope that he could talk some sense into me. Did he really think that Williams would willingly give up his
Mordecai's standpoint Me: So Jaxon, how's that baby mama coming? Andy: I forgot that Jaxon is going to be a dad… (Laughing emoji) Aaron: What are the odds of someone getting five girls pregnant at the same time? Me: if the person's name is Jax, then it's a level hundred. Jaxon: I am not responsible, I am never careless. Aaron: didn't he say that the last twelve times? Andy: fuck man! You never learn from your mistakes. You somehow escaped twelve pregnancies but yet you get yourself stuck again with five? Jaxon: I have been careful since then, I swear! Those bitches are gold diggers. I'm having all of them tested and once I find out they are all lying, I'll deal with them. Me: Jaxon, you wanna tell me that even someone as innocent as Tilly would lie about something as destructive to her life as this? We all know Tilly loves her simple life where she cares for her family of ten and doesn't need one more teeny mouth to feed. You blackmailed her with her financial issue and got th
