Chapter 38: Blinded by Lies

Clarissa's P.O.V.

It had been two days since I had read the letter Antonio had left me, and it never ceased to amaze me how sweet Brantley was. He did everything he could to take my mind of how hurt I was and even helped grow my powers. Like right now, I was slowly learning that I could move faster than my mind could comprehend.

I felt the air around me swarming, and the cool breeze kissed me like a welcome friend. Brantley's intense gaze watched me from the porch as I used the surrounding wind to move the cloth dummy about fifty feet from where I stood. My daggers, swinging to hit the targets as he had shown.

"Good job, Clarissa," Brantley said as he clapped in approval. Sweat glistened my skin, and I couldn't help but smile at how well I was improving.

"Well, I had an amazing teacher." Brantley walked towards me, admiring the damage I had produced on the dummy, and smiled.
