LOGINSix years had passed since Varany walked away from Bradly. Now she was on her way to meet him again, with their daughter sleeping in her arms.
Nihan's fingers were wrapped around the doll Ashley had bought her, and a small smile remained on her face even in sleep.
“Hey, Sis. Are you okay?” Ashley asked.
Varany nodded. “I'm fine.”
She wasn't, but she forced herself to keep going.
When they entered SM Marikina, Varany saw Bradly standing nearby, talking to another man.
Her breath caught.
It was him.
The man she had left behind, the man she had once loved, and the man she had never completely forgotten.
Bradly turned.
Their eyes met.
For a moment, neither moved. Shock crossed his face, followed by an emotion Varany could not bear to name.
She tried to speak, but the room began to spin.
“Hey! Are you okay?” Ashley called.
Varany took one step before her legs gave out.
She never reached the floor.
Bradly caught her, holding her securely while keeping Nihan safe against her chest.
For one brief moment before everything went dark, Varany knew exactly who was holding her.
Bradly.
Bradly
The moment Ashley called, Bradly turned the car around. Varany wanted to see him after almost six years, and he was determined to get there.
Then his phone rang.
Xander.
“Bro, where are you?” Xander asked.
“I'm heading to SM Marikina. My wife wants to talk to me.”
Xander knew what Bradly had been through during the six years Varany was gone. “Wow. You finally found her.”
“My sister found her two months ago,” Bradly said. “She kept it from me because Varany asked her to.”
“There is more.”
“What more?”
Bradly smiled. “I have a daughter.”
There was silence on the other end.
“A little princess,” he added.
He still struggled to believe it. Varany had raised their daughter alone and experienced every birthday, illness, and important moment without him.
“Damn,” Xander muttered. Then he changed the subject. “Speaking of your brat sister, I've been calling her. She keeps ignoring me.”
Bradly laughed. “Just meet me at SM Marikina. I need to talk to my wife alone.”
“Copy that.”
After the call, Bradly waited.
An hour later, Ashley finally appeared with Varany.
Bradly stood immediately.
She was pale and holding Nihan in her arms.
Varany took one step, then stumbled.
“Varany!”
Ashley shouted, and Xander cursed, but Bradly was already moving.
He reached her before she hit the floor and caught both Varany and Nihan.
For one terrifying second, the sight took him back to the day he thought he had lost Varany forever.
Bradly held Varany securely, supporting her back while keeping Nihan safe. She felt frighteningly light, and even unconscious, her arms remained wrapped around their daughter.
Then Nihan screamed.
“Mommy! Please help my mom! Uncle My! Aunt Ashley! Daddy!”
Bradly's attention snapped to her.
“Daddy, please help Mom,” Nihan sobbed.
Ashley quickly lifted Nihan into her arms while Bradly carried Varany to a nearby chair and knelt beside her.
“Babe, wake up. Please.”
Varany did not respond.
Nihan climbed beside her and kissed her cheek repeatedly. “Mommy, I'll be good. I won't ask for ice cream. I'll eat vegetables. Please wake up.”
Bradly wiped away her tears. “Mommy will be okay. She just needs to rest. Let's be strong for her.”
Nihan nodded.
Ashley brought a small bottle of ammonia to Varany's nose. After a moment, Varany stirred and slowly opened her eyes.
“Mommy!”
Nihan immediately threw herself into her arms.
Varany held her daughter tightly, still weak but protective as always.
Bradly remained on his knees in front of them, watching silently.
Varany was awake.
Bradly looked at his wife and daughter together and realized he was finally seeing the family he had lost six years ago.
“I'm fine, baby,” Varany whispered, brushing Nihan's hair away. “Are you hurt?”
“No, Mommy,” Nihan cried. “Daddy saved you.”
Bradly's chest tightened at the word.
Ashley stepped closer. “You scared me. Nihan is fine. Bradly caught you before you fell. What happened? You were fine a moment ago.”
Varany looked around the room, then her eyes landed on Bradly.
She froze.
The shock on her face quickly turned into something he could not read. Then she tried to pull away.
Bradly immediately loosened his hold. He would not trap her or force her to stay. He kept one arm behind her only to steady her.
But Nihan wrapped her little arms around both of them and refused to let go.
For the first time in six years, they were together.
Bradly said nothing. He simply looked at Varany, knowing one wrong move could destroy the fragile moment.
But then Nihan smiled through her tears and looked between them.
“Mommy…”
Her little hands held onto both of them.
“Daddy came home.”
Varany froze.
Bradly could not speak.
To Nihan, they were already a family again.
But the fear in Varany's eyes told Bradly the truth.
She had not come to bring him home.
She had come to decide whether to let him stay in their daughter's life at all.
Sleeping peacefully had never come naturally to Calix. But lately, he had been waking up feeling truly rested. When he opened his eyes, he immediately saw the reason.Nihan slept against his arm, breathing softly. Her face tightened every few moments as if she were reacting to something in her dreams. The sight made Calix smile.Unable to resist, he reached over and gently pinched her cheek.A quiet groan escaped Nihan. Her eyes slowly opened.Calix continued smiling at her.“Go back to sleep. It’s still early.”Nihan closed her eyes and snuggled closer to his chest.“What time is it?”“Around noon.”Her eyes flew open. She pushed him back and quickly sat up.“Noon?” she exclaimed. “How is that early? I didn’t tell my parents I was staying out all night.”“I already told them.”Nihan froze.
“Calix, I don’t think this position is right,” Nihan whispered between unsteady breaths.“What’s wrong with it?”His lips moved across the sensitive skin of her neck.Nihan sat across his lap with her back pressed against his chest. The mirror above the bed reflected everything, from her flushed face to the way Calix held her close.“This is too much,” she admitted. “I can see everything.”“Then look at yourself.”“No.”But her eyes moved toward the mirror anyway. For a moment, Nihan barely recognized the woman staring back at her.Her cheeks were flushed. Her lips were parted, and several strands of hair had fallen across her forehead. She looked nervous and overwhelmed. But she also looked happy. When her eyes moved toward Calix’s reflection, her breath caught. He was watching her.His dark gaze
Calix tapped a card against the elevator sensor and pressed the button for the highest floor. The moment the doors closed, he pulled Nihan into his arms and kissed her.Her eyes widened as her back gently touched the wall. Calix kissed her as if he had been waiting far too long to taste her again.“Calix,” she whispered when their lips finally parted. “We’re still inside the elevator.”“This elevator goes directly to the penthouse,” he murmured before kissing her again. His kiss deepened, drawing a soft sound from Nihan before she could stop it.She quickly placed one hand against his chest.“If someone sees us, I’ll never recover.”Calix did not seem concerned. He kissed her again as though they were the only two people in the world. Then Nihan suddenly remembered something.“Have you even eaten?”“No.”She pulled ba
The uncomfortable silence that had filled the hall while Carmen insulted Nihan changed into complete shock.Even Nihan could not believe Calix had arrived at that exact moment. His hand slipped into hers, pulling her back to reality.“You’re here?” she managed to ask.Calix nodded.“I’m sorry I’m late.”“You shouldn’t have rushed.”Nihan instinctively patted his shoulder. The moment her hand touched him, Calix flinched. It was a small reaction, but she noticed it.Her eyes narrowed.“I became stiff from driving for so long,” he quickly explained.“Calix,” Nihan warned softly. She did not believe him. Before she could question him further, Carmen hurried toward them.“Calix Godwin, hello!” she greeted with a bright smile. “I’m Carmen Madden. I’m the woman who sent you
Nihan had not expected to be called to work on the morning of the reunion.Of all days, why did it have to be today? She had slept peacefully the night before. Calix’s victory and their phone call had left her feeling happier than she had in a long time. But the moment she opened her eyes and checked her phone, she saw a message from Jerome. One of their coworkers had suddenly become sick. Jerome asked if Nihan could cover the shift.Since she had nothing planned for the morning, she agreed.Unfortunately, Jerome had not been exaggerating when he warned her that the center would be busy.Nihan barely had time to breathe. She could not even take a proper break. No one was available to pick her up afterward, so she called a cab. The moment she arrived home, she dropped onto the couch and released a long, tired breath. Then she looked at the clock. It was already four in the afternoon. Her shift had ended an hour late. The reunion would begin in three hours, so she still had time to rest
“There he is! The man of the hour! No, the man of the evening. The man of the entire season!” Scott shouted the moment he saw Calix.Vhong made loud cheering sounds behind him.Calix sighed and shook his head.“Are you already drunk?”“Who’s drunk?” Scott asked, looking around in confusion. “I don’t see anyone drunk.”The team was celebrating at a private bar Ruztom had rented for the night.Calix had not planned to attend. He needed to leave early in the morning if he wanted to reach Nihan’s reunion on time. But Ruztom had called him and talked endlessly about team spirit. He had even threatened to pick Calix up himself and bother him all night if he refused.Spending one hour at the party seemed easier than dealing with that.Calix had called Nihan before leaving. She had simply told him to enjoy himself and be careful. For some reason, her calm response had disappointed him.Was he crazy for wanting her to ask him not to go?Or to show even a little jealousy? He quickly dismissed t
