Varany had spent almost six years preparing to face Bradly again, but never imagined it would happen with his arms around her and their daughter between them.

When she realized Bradly had caught her, she looked up. His arms were still around her waist, steadying her, but his expression was uncertain, as if he wasn't sure whether he was allowed to be that close.

“I'm sorry,” Varany said quietly. “I feel dizzy. I forgot to eat lunch.”

She looked away before the memories could return.

Then she noticed Xander standing beside Ashley. Before Varany could say anything, Ashley stepped in front of him with a warning look.

Varany almost laughed.

Even now, Ashley had not changed.

They eventually sat down, with Bradly and Xander exchanging quiet looks while Nihan watched everyone curiously.

“Sis,” Ashley said, pointing at Xander, “this handsome man is Xander, my brother's best friend. And he's mine, so don't even think about it.”

Varany laughed.

Ashley turned to Xander. “And you, stop staring at my sister-in-law, or we're fighting.”

Xander laughed.

But Varany noticed Bradly's reaction. His jaw tightened as he glanced at Xander, then his expression softened when he looked back at her.

Before Varany could say anything, Nihan spoke.

“Mommy, who's he?”

Varany froze.

She looked at Nihan, then at Bradly.

“Baby,” she said softly, “didn't you say you wanted a daddy?”

Nihan's whole face lit up.

“Yes! I did!”

Varany took a breath. “Then, baby…” She pointed toward Bradly. “He's your dad.”

For a moment, Nihan stared at him.

Then she cried, “My Daddy!”

She jumped into Bradly's lap without hesitation. He laughed and pulled her close, kissing her cheeks as if he could make up for six lost years.

Varany watched them, realizing that none of the things she had feared had happened. Bradly had not questioned Nihan or hesitated. He had simply accepted her with love.

Then he looked at Varany.

“We'll talk later,” his expression seemed to say.

Varany nodded.

The truth was finally out. Bradly knew Nihan was his daughter, but Varany still had to decide what would happen between them.

For now, she was too hungry and exhausted to think about it.

By seven that evening, they were sitting together like a family.

Varany tried to focus on the menu, but her attention kept returning to Bradly and Nihan.

“Daddy, I want that one. And that one,” Nihan said, pointing at the menu.

“Okay, Princess.”

Bradly smiled and nodded as if her choices were the most important thing in the world.

Ashley and Xander laughed, and for a moment, the table felt like a family that had never been separated.

Varany wasn't sure she trusted that feeling yet.

When the food arrived, Nihan quickly bonded with Bradly and refused Varany's help.

“No. Daddy.”

Varany pulled her hand back and watched Bradly barely touch his food because he was too busy watching their daughter.

Without thinking, Varany lifted her spoon and fed him.

Bradly froze, then smiled.

Varany quickly lowered her hand, but he gently caught it and took another bite, still looking at her.

Before long, Varany found herself feeding both Bradly and Nihan. For a moment, it felt strangely familiar, but she knew their problems had not disappeared.

After dinner, Ashley stood. “Let's walk.”

“Arcade!” Nihan immediately shouted.

Xander laughed and carried her away with Ashley.

Once they were gone, Varany and Bradly were alone.

She straightened and met his eyes.

“I'm sure Ashley already told you about me before today.”

Bradly said nothing.

“You've met Nihan,” Varany continued. “I know my daughter well. She's happy. That is what matters to me.”

She held his gaze.

“You probably have questions. Ask them. Then it will be my turn.”

Bradly studied her. She was no longer the woman who had left six years ago. She was stronger now, guarded, and no longer willing to let him decide her life.

“Varany,” he said quietly. “There's something I've been keeping from you.”

Her expression tightened. “What?”

“You need to hear it before we can ever be a family again.”

Varany's pulse quickened. “Before we what?”

Bradly leaned closer, his expression serious.

“There is something you don't know about Nihan's past. About me.”

Varany went still.

“If I tell you the truth,” Bradly said, “you may never look at me the same way again.”

The warmth of dinner suddenly felt distant.

Varany stared at him, realizing that whatever Bradly was about to reveal could change everything they had just begun to rebuild.

  • Choose Me Too Late   Chapter 14: Past Is Back

Varany expected to find a secret.Maybe even another woman. But when she stepped outside, she found something completely different. The pool was covered with rose petals.A small table had been prepared for two, with candles flickering softly in the middle. Gentle music played in the background. For a moment, Varany forgot how to breathe.Bradly stood near the speaker, watching her and waiting. Then he walked toward her and wrapped his arms around her.Tight, but careful.Like he was still afraid she might disappear again.“I'm sorry,” he whispered. His voice cracked.“I'm sorry for hurting you and for shouting last night.”Varany stayed still.Bradly held her a little tighter.“I acted like a jerk,” he continued. “I'm so angry with myself right now.”He took a shaky breath.“Just listen to the song.”The music continued as Bradly lowered his voice.“This is how I felt when you left me.”Varany's chest tightened.“I thought I needed to let you go for a while,” he admitted. “But when y

She turned back toward the mirror and picked up her comb, slowly brushing her hair as if Bradly were not standing behind her.If he wanted a fight, fine.“Because I said so.”His voice grew louder.Varany rolled her eyes.“And what if I don't?”She turned to face him.“Myra is my friend. There is nothing wrong with that.”Bradly's jaw tightened.“Friend?”He repeated the word like he hated it.“You think I don't see the way he looks at you?”Varany's breath caught.Bradly stepped closer.“And you...” His voice dropped. “You don't see it?”Of course she did.She had always known how Myra felt. She had simply chosen to ignore it.“There is nothing going on,” Varany said firmly.Even she could hear the weakness in her voice.Bradly moved closer.Too close.“And if there was?”Her heart began to pound.“What would you do?”Silence filled the room.Varany lifted her chin.“I wouldn't be doing anything wrong.”Something sharp flashed in Bradly's eyes.He reached for her wrist. His grip was

Living with the man who once broke her heart was hard.Living with the man she had never truly stopped loving was even harder. Two months had passed since Varany and Nihan returned to Bradly's life. They were living together in their new two-story home with a small garden and a pool in the back.Nihan loved the pool, Bradly loved watching her play, and Varany loved seeing them together. That was what made the new life so dangerous. Every time she heard Nihan call Bradly “Daddy” or watched the three of them laugh together, she found herself forgetting why she had left. For the most part, everything had been peaceful.Except for Myra.Myra owned a small shop near Nihan's Dream Place Café. Two years earlier, he had saved Nihan after she chased a ball into the street. He stopped her before she could get hurt and safely brought her back to Varany. After that, Myra became part of their lives. He was kind and patient, helped Varany when she needed it, and adored Nihan. She loved spending tim

For one dangerous second, Varany forgot she had come back. Then she opened her eyes and saw the man she had spent almost six years trying to forget.Sunlight filled the room. It took her a moment to remember where she was, and then the memories of last night returned. She had slept beside Bradly.Varany quickly looked at the clock. Seven in the morning. She turned her head and froze.Bradly and Nihan were sleeping beside each other. Nihan's tiny hand was wrapped around his finger, while his arm rested protectively around their daughter. They looked so natural together that something inside Varany softened. She quickly looked away.Carefully, she slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom. A shower helped clear her mind, but when she returned, Nihan was already awake.“Good morning, baby.”Varany kissed her forehead, and Nihan immediately wrapped her arms around her.Varany glanced at Bradly, still sleeping peacefully, then carried Nihan downstairs. She found Bradly's parents alread

Varany thought she was ready to come home. She was wrong. The moment the car stopped in front of the mansion, her heart began pounding. This house held everything she had once loved, and everything that had broken her.Earlier, they had stopped at her apartment so she could pack her clothes, documents, and a few essentials. She had forced herself to move quickly because thinking too much might have made her change her mind. Now she was back.Varany stared through the window, remembering all the nights she had wanted to return while she was pregnant with Nihan. She had missed her parents, her old home, even Bradly. But every time she considered going back, she remembered why she had left.“We're here,” Bradly said lightly. “Don't overthink it.”She glanced at him. Then he smiled. “You're not planning to run away again, right?”Varany rolled her eyes, but she knew a part of her had considered it.She tried to move, but Nihan was still asleep in her arms.“Let me,” Bradly said. Before Va

For one brief moment, Bradly thought Varany had come back to him. Then her expression changed, and the distance between them returned.“Why did you hide Nihan from me?” he asked. “Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?”He swallowed. “I didn't know about her, Varany. But she's my daughter too.”“If Ashley hadn't found me, I wasn't planning to come back,” Varany said calmly. “I had peace with just me and my daughter.”Bradly's chest tightened.“But I knew Nihan would eventually ask about her father. I didn't want her growing up watching her father with different women.”Bradly looked away.“I also didn't know how you'd react,” Varany continued. “What if you rejected her? I've already been hurt. I won't let my daughter go through the same thing.”Bradly had no defense.“I understand,” he said quietly. They could still fix this, he thought. For Nihan. But Varany spoke before he could say anything.“We can fix this,” she said.Hope flickered in Bradly's eyes.“But not the way you think
