When I woke up the next morning it was already mid-afternoon. I rubbed my eyes as I sat up. The sun was pouring into my room, I looked around confused. I had no idea how long I had slept, I got up and stretched a bit before heading into the bathroom. Once I finished my business and dressed, peeping first, I exited my room and started walking down the hallway. As usual, it was completely empty, which wasn't surprising considering it was almost midday. “Good afternoon Ma’am” I heard a deep baritone voice greet me.

Ma'am was too moderate for me. Since when did I become ma'am? It startled me.

“Hello” I greeted back.

“Do you need help with anything?” the guard asked.

“It’s alright, thank you though,” I told him.

He eyed me a little suspiciously before nodding and moving out of the way.
