64. Romano's escape

Romano was inside the mansion when he heard a gunshot from outside. He sent one of his men outside to go check the cause. The man returned some seconds later, shouting there was an attack. He quickly got up from the chair where he sat, cross-legged, and dashed for his room.

He made for the drawer by the bed and pulled it open, taking out two semi automatic rifles. He loaded them quickly and cocked them before rushing out of the room. He got intercepted by one of his men as he was rushing back downstairs.

“You can't go back there,” he said, stepping in front of Romano. He held an Ak-47 rifle in his hand and looked unsettled.

“What the hell are you saying?” Romano asked in anger. Giovanni comes to attack me in my own house, and you say I should run away. Are you mad?” he spat and tried to nudge him out of the way.

“I'm sorry Capo, but I can't let you go out there. It is my duty to protect you.” the man replied, standing firm. Romano looked at him and scoffed. He raised one of the guns in
