I was curled up on the bed in my aunt’s guest room, hugging the pillow like it could stitch together the shattered pieces of me.

Tears streamed down my cheeks like rivers of despair, burning my eyes. It’s been three days, and there wasn’t a single moment where I couldn’t catch my breath in peace.

I hadn’t cried like this in years, not when Xander betrayed me, not even when Luna Samantha died. But now, my heart felt like a torn, bloodied mess that Carlos had pierced with his silence. He let me fall hard, making me believe I was the only one he was currently dating.

It wasn’t that I expected him to stay single throughout his life with such a charming personality. But when he said I was his future, I trusted him, foolishly believing that the Moon Goddess had sent an angel from heaven for me.
