Kael’s Point Of View

Her bare foot twitched. Lifted. Almost fell back.

But then, slowly she placed it forward. Bare sole pressing into the mud, delicate, shaking, leaving a faint smear of blood against the wet leaves.

Another step.

And another.

Every inch of her trembling. Breathing too fast. Chest rising and falling like she was fighting something inside of her harder than any rogue or blade or nightmare.

But she moved.

Toward me. Not because I’d dragged her. Because she chose. “I’ll follow you” And that choice, damn, that felt like something that mattered more than it should’ve.

I stared down at her, that sharp little chin lifting stubbornly even with the terror glistening in her eyes, lips parted on shaky breaths.

“Good girl,” I murmured, the words sliding off my tongue like sin wrapped in velvet. “Knew you were smarter than you looked.” Her glare could’ve peeled bark from trees, and gods, it was beautiful.

Mine.

All of her wildness, her defiance, her terror, I’d take it all. And s

Ayla’s Point Of ViewThe woman crouched so that her face was closer to mine now, her perfume thick and cloying, her sneer sharp enough to cut glass.“Do you know what happens to spies in rogue territory, little girl?” she whispered, smiling like someone sharing a juicy secret. “They don’t get sent home. They don’t get ransoms. They disappear. Piece by piece.”My stomach twisted violently, bile crawling up the back of my throat.“You want to know what the best part is?” she asked sweetly. “It’s not the interrogation itself. It’s when you beg for the end.” And then she stood, smoothing her dress like nothing had happened. She smiled wider.“Bring in the toys.”I felt my stomach drop. I didn’t know what toys meant exactly—but I knew enough to understand it wasn’t good. Nothing in her voice promised mercy.Nothing in this room had anything to do with mercy. A door creaked behind me. Footsteps. Heavy boots. Two men entered, dragging a battered wooden crate between them. I could smell the r

Ayla’s Point Of ViewMorning had come, pale and cold, like a hesitant apology after the horror of last night. I hadn’t slept, not really. After that nightmare, I’d just lain there in the bed like a corpse laid out for mourning, staring at the ceiling, waiting for sleep to find me again and failing. My skin still prickled, like the screams from that dream had crawled under it and made a home there. I needed to move. I need fresh air. I didn’t care where I went, I just couldn’t stay in this room a second longer.I slipped out of bed, moving quietly, brushing my tangled hair out of my face, wincing at the dull ache behind my eyes. My whole body felt like a puzzle missing too many pieces. Bruised. Disoriented. Fragile.I padded over to the door, slowly opening it, half-expecting someone to jump out at me—but the hall was empty. Quiet. Too quiet. I stepped out and spotted a maid walking past briskly, carrying folded linens.“Excuse me,” I rasped, voice raw from too much silence. “The… entr

Kael’s Point Of ViewThe clang of fists meeting flesh echoed across the clearing like music I’d heard my whole life.Dirt kicked up beneath heavy boots. Muscles strained. Grunts and curses filled the air, weaving through the sharp scent of sweat, leather, and the ever-present bite of wolf just beneath the skin.Training.Good. Hard. Brutal.Just how I liked it.I stood with my arms crossed at the edge of the makeshift ringl an uneven patch of flattened dirt surrounded by makeshift torches and weapons racks. The rogues training today were vicious. Lean with hunger, mean with years of running, and strong because life had never handed them anything soft. And that’s exactly why I respected them.I watched one of my men, a tall, brutish bastard named Kade slam another across the clearing, dust exploding around the impact like ash after a battlefield. A low growl of approval rumbled from my chest. This was good. This was order. Then I heard Riven’s boots crunch behind me.“Alpha,” he said,

Julian’s Point Of ViewI sat in the dark for a long while after Dex’s voice finally fell silent in my head. Or maybe I just stopped listening. It didn’t matter. She was gone. Dead. Out of my life. The ache wasn’t real. The guilt was just weakness. And weakness got men like me killed. I was going to be Alpha soon. I had no room for ghosts, regrets, or broken things in my future. My father was dead.Ayla was dead. Good. One more loose thread cut clean. Then… Knock knock. I didn’t move. Didn’t flinch. The door opened anyway, slow and steady, like the person behind it knew better than to ask permission.Anton.Beta Anton stepped inside like he owned the place, silver at his temples, thick around the shoulders, his jaw forever set in that permanent, smug confidence men like him wore like armor.“My Alpha,” he said with a grin that made my skin crawl. “Or, rather… soon to be.” I gave him a brief nod. Not a greeting, an acknowledgment. Nothing more. He strolled further inside, boots clicking

Juliana’s Point Of ViewI sat on the edge of the bed, elbows braced on my knees, head bowed like I was in prayer, except there was no god listening. Just the soft, hollow sound of my own breathing, echoing back to me in a room that felt too big, too empty. For weeks now, I hadn’t slept. Couldn’t.Not properly. When I did, her face always came back to me, eyes wide, lips trembling, voice breaking as she called my name one last time before they dragged her away.Pathetic.I clenched my jaw until my teeth ached, until I could feel the dull pounding behind my eyes threatening to break loose into something violent.“I didn’t even love her,” I muttered. “She was weak. Always was.” My hands fisted against my knees. “She was in the way. A distraction. I had bigger things planned, better things.”And yet… And yet I could still see her in the back of my eyelids every time I blinked. That soft, broken expression when I told her I didn’t want her. That hollow look when I spoke the rejection aloud

Ayla’s Point Of View“What am I?”The words slipped out of my mouth like broken glass, sharp and trembling, cutting my tongue on the way out. I didn’t even mean to say them out loud, but they forced their way into the open, like they’d been waiting for this exact moment to pounce.I sat there on the bed, my knees drawn up to my chest, arms wrapped around them so tightly that my fingertips were white from the pressure. My whole body felt wrong, too heavy, too fragile, too full of… I didn’t even know.I was shaking. Not from cold, not from pain. From everything. That dream… That nightmare… It wasn’t just a bad dream. It was a memory, I felt it was, but how could it be? I’ve never sat on a throne. I’ve never worn crowns or held kingdoms in my hand. I’ve never been called Queen.Never.I’m just Ayla. Broken. Bruised. Unwanted. The girl who wasn’t even good enough to be loved by her own mate. The girl whose own brother tried to drown her like a dog too broken to keep.I don’t belong on thr
