Chapter 2

Auteur: Peachy
Killian took a step back.

I saw the flicker of fear in his eyes—the instinct of an Alpha facing an unknown threat.

"Sera, are you insane?" he stammered. "Look at your hand!"

I glanced down at my palm, still dripping blood, the shards of glass still embedded in my flesh.

It didn't hurt.

Not compared to the feeling of my heart being ripped in two.

Just then, Killian pressed his fingers to his temple, his face twisting.

The mind-link.

Mia. Crying again.

"What is it?" His voice was instantly gentle, a stark contrast to the coldness he'd shown me.

I couldn't hear her words, but I could see the anger rising on Killian's face.

"Who dares to defy your orders?"

A moment of silence.

"Alright, I'll handle it. From now on, you have full authority over the Alpha's Guard."

He broke the mind-link and turned back to me.

"You see? Mia is trying her best to manage things, but some of the more stubborn warriors won't cooperate."

"Those warriors have followed me for eight years."

"And now they'll learn to respect their new Head Warrior, even if she is an Omega."

New Head Warrior?

I hadn't even been officially stripped of my title, and she was already taking my place?

A smug smirk crossed Killian's face when he saw the shock in my eyes.

"Yes. Mia will be taking over your duties. She has a real gift for leadership."

"She doesn't even know basic battle formations!" I hissed in disbelief.

"She'll learn. And she won't question my decisions the way you always do."

I laughed.

So that was the real reason.

It wasn't that I wasn't gentle.

It was that I had a mind of my own.

I pulled the largest shard of glass from my palm, ignoring the fresh surge of pain, and wiped the blood on my pants before walking toward the door.

"Sera, where are you going?"

"Back to my quarters. Since I'm no longer the Lead Beta, there's no reason for me to be here."

The door slammed shut behind me. I could hear Killian cursing inside.

Back in my room, I opened the pack app.

My screen was flooded with notifications.

[System Alert: You have been removed from the War Council channel.]

[System Alert: You have been removed from the Strategy & Intel channel.]

[System Alert: You have been removed from the Pack Leadership channel.]

One by one, my permissions were being revoked.

Everything I had built in eight years, gone overnight.

I switched to the public channel. The number one trending topic was:

Mia The Gifted Head Warrior

I clicked on it. It was filled with praise from Killian's cronies.

"Head Warrior Mia showed incredible wisdom in settling that dispute."

"Her gentle nature soothes the warriors' aggression."

"This is the kind of leader the Blackwood Pack needs."

I scrolled down and saw something that stung even more.

An official announcement appeared on the pack's main channel:

[Official Blackwood Pack Statement: Effective immediately, Seraphina is relieved of her duties as Lead Beta. The position will be filled by Mia. We thank Seraphina for her eight years of service and wish her the best in her future endeavors.]

Eight years of service, dismissed with a cold, corporate "we wish her the best."

The comments section was exploding.

"What is happening? Seraphina is our strongest warrior!"

"What right does Mia have to take her place?"

"Has the Alpha lost his mind?"

But soon, those dissenting comments were deleted, replaced by a uniform stream of praise.

Someone was clearly controlling the narrative.

My phone buzzed with a private message from Killian.

"Stop stirring up trouble. You're not the Lead Beta anymore. Let go of your pathetic obsession with power."

Obsession with power?

The blood I shed for this pack, the honor I won for him—in his eyes, that was just an obsession with power?

I replied directly to the public announcement:

"An Alpha who has to steal credit from his warrior to feel powerful isn't fit to lead anyone."

I hit send.

The app froze, then went black.

[System Error: Server overloaded.]

My post had crashed their entire network.

"We are here to announce the founding of a new empire."Damien stood on the main stage of the great assembly hall, his voice broadcast across the entire wolf world. The leaders and representatives from every pack sat below, their eyes fixed on us."The Ironfang and Silvermoon packs are officially merged," I said, taking the microphone, my tone calm and regal. "Together, we will forge a new, unified empire."Thunderous applause erupted. It wasn't polite or obligatory; it was born from genuine shock and awe. The merger of the two most powerful packs marked the dawn of a new era."Her Majesty the Queen!""His Majesty, King Damien!""Long may they reign!"I scanned the crowd below, seeing countless gazes of reverence and admiration. The same wolves who had once questioned me were now at my feet. Not out of fear, but out of true respect. After the ceremony, Damien and I stood alone on the palace rooftop. The night was ink-black, filled with a thousand stars."Do you regret it?" Damien asked

"Are you ready?"Damien stood in front of a helicopter, the snow-capped mountains stretching out behind him. The sacred ground of the Silvermoon Pack was on the highest peak."I don't know," I said honestly. "Awakening my bloodline is one thing. Wielding its full power... that's something else entirely.""You will," Damien said, his eyes filled with confidence. "It belongs to you."The helicopter landed on the summit. The moment I stepped out, I felt a call unlike anything I'd ever experienced. Every snowflake, every gust of wind seemed to whisper ancient stories to me."Welcome home, Your Highness."A group of wolves in silver cloaks emerged from the snow-covered forest. They were the Guardians of the Silvermoon Pack, who had waited here for generations for the return of the royal bloodline. The elder at the front removed his hood, revealing a full head of silver hair."I am Elder Cedric. We have been waiting for you for a very long time.""How long?""Thirty years," Cedric said, his

"I didn't do any of those things!"Mia stood on the trial platform, tears streaming down her face. The Blackwood Pack's main square was packed with onlookers, the entire wolf world's eyes were fixed on this spot.I sat on the judge's throne, draped in the royal cloak of the Silvermoon Pack, a laurel crown on my head. The power of my awakened bloodline radiated out in palpable waves, and every wolf present felt it as a tremor deep in their soul."The evidence," I said, my voice calm but filled with an authority that could not be questioned.Damien stood and presented the findings."IP Address: 172.16.254.1, registered to one Mia Mist.""Financial Transfer: Three hundred thousand gold coins, wired to a spy network within the Red Moon Pack.""Communication Screenshot: 'Seraphina's reputation must be destroyed. My phone was about to melt.A flood of messages poured in, each one filled with shock and disbelief."The Silvermoon Pack? The legendary bloodline of the First Kings?""Seraphina is royalty?""How is that possible? Wasn't she a Beta?"I turned off my phone and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.Outside the Ironfang headquarters, a massive crowd of reporters and onlookers had already gathered. They all wanted the truth. To be honest, so did I."You knew all along, didn't you?" I asked, turning to face Damien. He was sitting on the sofa, his expression complex."From the first moment I saw you, I felt it—that suppressed power," he said softly. "The scent of a Silvermoon bloodline... it can't be completely hidden.""Why didn't you say anything?""Because you didn't know it yourself," Damien said, rising and coming to my side. "Sera, what do you think you're doing?" Killian's voice was laced with disbelief. "Are you using another Alpha to try and make me jealous?"Before I could speak, a soft voice came from behind him."Sera..."Mia stepped out from behind Killian, her eyes already welling with tears. She wore a pale blue dress, looking as fragile as a flower in the wind."Please, just come home. I can give you the Lead Beta position back..." Her voice trembled, as if she were the one who’d been so grievously wronged."I don't need anyone's charity," I sneered. "Especially not from a thief."The color drained from Mia's face."Sera!" Killian roared. "How can you talk to her like that? Mia is just trying to help you!""Help me?" I gestured to the armed warriors. "Is that why you brought an entire squad? For a farewell party?"Damien took another step forward, and his powerful Alpha aura washed over them like a tidal wave.Killian’s men instinctively recoiled. A few of them even started to tremble. The pressu
