AURELIAN POV:

Zevaris bucked beneath me, twisting violently as he tried to throw me off. His claws scraped against the rock, searching for leverage, but I shifted my weight and drove him harder into the stone.

A deep growl rumbled in my chest. I tightened my jaws around his neck. He thrashed again. I twisted my jaws violently and a sharp crack split the night.

The fight stopped. His body went rigid beneath me. For a heartbeat, neither of us moved. Then the strength drained out of him.

AURELIAN POV:I followed my father down the wide staircase and through the entrance hall. He didn't speak. He led me past the main corridor and down a narrower hallway I hadn't noticed before. The walls here were older, the stone was darker. The chandeliers gave way to wall sconces that flickered with real flame. The air grew cooler. I could see cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling and the floor had a layer of fine dust that hadn't been disturbed in years. He stopped in front of a heavy wooden door. It was plain and unmarked, set into the stone like it had been there longer than the rest of the mansion. The wood was dark and weathered, and the iron hinges were rusted at the edges. He pulled a key from his pocket and inserted it into the lock. The mechanism turned with a heavy click that echoed down the hallway. He pushed the door open and stepped inside. I followed him into the room and it felt like it had been frozen in time. Shelves lined every wall, stretching from floor to ceilin

AURELIAN POV:My father stared at me without blinking."...Explain.""I killed them."His eyebrows pulled together."Impossible.""I did.""No." His voice became firmer. "If Morveth had died..." He tapped his own chest. "...I would've felt it.""You should have, but I killed him in another reality."The room became still."Vaelthor made me believe Morveth was a threat to the wolf race. Vaelthor gave me the power to kill Morveth, but after a long fight at your mansion, we both fell off the roof dead," I explained."I found myself in Vaelthor's palace and he showed me everything that had happened after my death and how the people I loved had emotionally detached themselves from me. And I was faced with an option, and I chose what he said was best. Little did I know he planned it all.""Vaelthor rewrote the universe and redesigned the whole reality. But I didn't know that he brought Zevaris, the only brother of his left, to me. Zevaris did some things and Vaelthor had me end him, and whe

AURELIAN POV:The Bugatti moved fast along the winding road. I kept my eyes forward, my hands resting on my knees. Rowe drove in silence and kept his hands on the wheel and his eyes on the road ahead. The mansion appeared slowly, a dark shape rising above the treeline. As we got closer, it grew larger. There were guards standing at attention at the entrance. The car slowed as we approached the gate. A guard stepped forward and leaned down toward the window. When he saw my face, he straightened immediately and nodded. The gates swung open.We drove through and the long road stretched ahead with perfectly maintained gardens aligned at both sides. Flowers bloomed in neat rows. It was beautiful and carefully arranged. The mansion itself came into view as we rounded the final bend. It was massive and was built from dark stone. Tall windows lined the front facade and a wide set of steps led up to the entrance. The car stopped at the bottom of the steps. I opened the door and stepped out. Th

AURELIAN POV:I closed my eyes and pressed my forehead against the glass.I couldn't go on a death mission anymore, not now. I couldn't leave Iris alone. I couldn't leave my child fatherless. I had already made that choice once, and Iris had mourned me. I had seen her grief. I had felt it. I couldn't put her through that again. But I couldn't stay either. Vaelthor had Zevaris's power now. He was stronger than before. More untouchable. If I did nothing, he would eventually come for me. He would come for Iris. He would take advantage of our child as he did with me.I was trapped. There was no way forward that didn't end in loss."Hey."Iris's voice came from behind me. I turned around. She was standing now, holding the edge of the bed for support."What's wrong?" she asked.I forced a smile."Everything is alright," I said. "I just didn't think this day would ever come."She laughed softly."Neither did I. But here we are."I walked back to her and took her hand."Here we are.""Can we

IRIS POV:"Two months?" I heard myself repeat. The older nurse gave a small nod."Approximately."I looked at Aurelian. He wasn't looking at me. His eyes remained fixed on the nurse, his brows drawn together as if he were trying to make sense of something that refused to fit."I'm sorry," I said, shaking my head. "I think... I think I misunderstood you.""You didn't."My fingers curled against the blanket."Then..."She stepped closer to the bed, stopping just beside the rail. She rested the clipboard against her hip before speaking again."You're carrying a Lycan."The room fell quiet. Even the steady beeping of the monitor seemed farther away. I lowered my eyes without thinking. My hand moved almost on its own until it rested lightly against my stomach. Nothing had changed. I couldn't feel anything.I looked back at the nurse."Are you saying..."She nodded before I could finish."You're pregnant."I looked at Aurelian's face again. He was staring at the bed, his eyes were the wides

IRIS POV:I walked slowly along the corridor, one hand trailing lightly across the smooth wooden wall beside me. But for some reason, I felt tired. Not the kind of tiredness that sleep could fix. My legs felt strangely heavy. Every step took just a little more effort than the last.I rubbed the back of my neck as I walked. Maybe I just needed to lie down. The room wasn't much farther.I rounded another corner. The hallway stretched ahead, bright with sunlight pouring through the tall windows lining one side of the mansion. I took another step and something shifted. It was so slight at first that I almost ignored it. The floor didn't feel steady anymore.I slowed. My brow furrowed."...That's strange."I blinked hard. The hallway swayed gently, as though I were standing on the deck of a ship instead of solid marble. I stopped walking. One hand reached for the wall beside me. I leaned against the cool stone until the strange feeling passed. I closed my eyes. For a second, everything see

IRIS POV:“…I can’t.” My voice cracked. “I can’t.”Nicholas’s brows furrowed.Tears spilled over as I spun away from the altar and ran, my gown dragging across the glass tiles toward the huge golden doors of the mating hall.“Iris!” My father’s voice echoed behind me, but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t

IRIS POV: Elder Sylvaris stepped forward, the ceremonial blade resting in his hands. Camera lights flickered from every corner. IRIS POV:I squeezed myself to the end of the car, leaving a huge space between me and him.His right hand suddenly moved toward me, making me flinch hard, my body still wired from everything that had just happened, but then he calmly clicked a discreet button on the center console.A hidden panel
