Ren's POV
I woke up to pain. A deep, throbbing ache pulsed through my entire lower body, centered right in my abused hole. It felt raw — stretched wide, slick, and so thoroughly used that even the smallest shift sent sparks of soreness up my spine. Bruises shaped like big, strong hands marked my hips and wrists. Bite marks bloomed across my collarbones and the soft skin of my inner thighs. My nipples were swollen and tender. Streaks of dried cum stuck to my stomach and chest like filthy proof of what happened. I groaned, groggy and disoriented, forcing my eyes open in this unfamiliar luxury. Dark silk sheets clung to my naked body. The penthouse bedroom smelled like expensive cologne, sweat, and sex. Fragments of last night crashed over me like a fever dream. The new club Ayesha had invited me to. Too much alcohol. The tall, broad stranger who looked at me like I was something to devour. He had to be at least a few years older than me — damn me and my lie. What did I think when I told him I wasn’t new to the scene? He had a powerful, mature body that completely overpowered my shorter, chubby frame. I remembered strong arms lifting me like I weighed nothing, a deep commanding voice growling filthy praise against my ear, and the relentless way he fucked me again and again until I was shaking. I wasn’t even expecting him to pick me amongst all the gorgeous people on that dance floor. I didn’t even know his name. The only thing burned clearly into my memory were his eyes — heterochromia, one piercing blue, the other a deep golden-amber. They had stared down at me while he thrust so deep, watching every moan and whimper with dark satisfaction. “Fuck…” I whispered, my voice hoarse from screaming the night before. I sat up slowly, wincing as fresh pain flared through me. My legs trembled when I tried to stand. The limp was immediate and embarrassing as I hobbled across the room, picking up my scattered clothes. My shirt was torn at the collar. My pants felt too tight against my bruised skin as the welts danced across my body. There was no sign of the man. No note. Nothing. He had left me here like a used toy. I dressed as fast as my aching body would let me, biting my lip to stay quiet. Every step reminded me of the brutal, delicious stretch from last night. The difference had been so obvious — his experience, his confidence, the way he handled my body like he owned it. I had never been touched like that before. Never been fucked so completely in my life, not to mention by a man. As I struggled with my pants, memories of Lila and Haru flashed through my mind. Walking in on my older brother fucking my fiancée in our own house. The way they barely stopped, looking annoyed more than guilty. My parents had told me it “wasn’t a big deal” and that I should just act like I didn’t know. They should have at least hidden it from me. The humiliation still burned. Lila had always compared me to Haru — his muscles, his height, his “manliness.” She constantly made fun of my chubbiness, my round hips, saying I was more feminine than her. Yet the stranger last night… he had complimented every part of me. He praised my soft body, my full ass, my curves — over and over — with no hint of disgust. He made me feel seen. Wanted. My face heated as I remembered him calling me “pretty little kitten.” A fresh wave of pain shot up my back from my ass. I groaned loudly, cursing under my breath. “Bastard… I hope your dick falls off.” I also remembered Ayesha winking at me the night before, whispering “Good luck, babe. Go get wrecked,” before pushing me toward the bar and I really fif get beyond wrecked. I should really keep away from her bad influence like my father and mother always say. I thought sarcastically while picking up my phone to call her. Last night was supposed to be a drunken escape from Lila’s betrayal. Now I was limping, covered in marks, and haunted by the memory of a stranger who loved my body that I didn't even love had ruined me for anyone else. How the hell was I supposed to face my wedding when I could still feel the ghost of that man inside me? Adrian called from the garage before he shut the engine off.“I’m downstairs.”Kai’s reply was short. “Door’s open. Come up.”He took the private elevator with his forearm still wrapped under a clean sleeve and the hospital smell only half washed off. Cain was stable. The list of people who had known the mission was already being pulled. None of that mattered the second the penthouse door closed behind him and the quiet of the house settled on his shoulders.Ren was in the kitchen with coffee. Kai stood near the island, watching the hallway like a man who had been holding a line all night.“Where is she?” Adrian asked.“Her room,” Ren said. “Aurelia slept with her. Refused to leave once the lights went out.”Adrian nodded, already turning that way, when Kai’s voice stopped him.“Before you go in — she might surprise you.”Adrian looked back.“Surprise me how?”Kai and Ren exchanged a glance that carried the weight of the colouring book and the crying and the small voice saying 'yay, K
By the third day Ayesha had worn herself and the penthouse without meaning to.Adrian was not due today but now Kai said it's tomorrow. She knew that. She had repeated it to herself in the guest room, in the kitchen, on the sofa where Aurelia kept claiming her as best friend and godmother in the same breath. Knowing did not stop the restlessness. Every engine in the street below made her look up. Every time Kai’s phone lit she went still until it proved to be something else.Kai got the call in the late afternoon.Adrian’s voice was stripped down to practical.“We’re at the hospital. Cain’s alive. I’m fine. You don’t need to leave your desk for me — but if you want eyes on him, come.”Kai was already reaching for his keys.“I’m on my way.”---The private wing smelled of disinfectant and quiet money.Cain looked like a man who had been kept alive out of spite rather than mercy — swollen, monitored, treatment paused only long enough for the next set of decisions. Kai took that in, then
Adrian’s POVThey left the city in a black bulletproof jeep that looked ordinary enough to pass for a late-night drive.Four men. Casual clothes over plates and holsters. Adrian in the front passenger seat with the route memorised and the chip signal still weak on his tablet. Behind him sat Crimson, Thunder God, and Chimera — names the street used more than the ones on any legal file. No one spoke for the first stretch of highway. The engine held a low, steady note. Streetlights thinned into dark.Crimson broke it first.“Boss. You seem different.”Adrian did not open his eyes.“Really. How?”Thunder God and Chimera answered together, almost overlapping.“I don’t know.”Adrian’s mouth curved without humour.“Then until you figure it out, let me rest.”They smiled and shook their heads. The jeep ate the remaining miles in silence.---The next town kept its secrets in the industrial quarter.Their warehouse sat behind a chain fence and a gate that recognised the code Adrian punched in.
Third Person POVAyesha woke disoriented a few hours later. The rug was under her. A throw had been pulled up to her shoulders. For a second she could not place the room, then the penthouse glass and the low sofa base came into focus and memory followed in pieces — Adrian leaving, the dark, Kai on the floor, talking until her body gave out.Something warm was tucked against her side.Aurelia.The child had fallen asleep beside her, one small hand still near Ayesha’s braids, mouth slightly open. Ayesha stared at the top of that head for a long moment, throat tight, then carefully gathered her up. Aurelia made a noise of protest in her sleep and settled again when Ayesha stood. She carried her down the hall to the child’s room, laid her on the bed, and pulled the covers up. Aurelia’s hair stuck out in every direction. Ayesha smoothed it once, almost without thinking, and left the door half open. She needed a shower. Needed to feel less like she had spent the night broken open on someone
Kai stayed on the living-room floor longer than he meant to. Ayesha’s rocking had slowed, then stopped. Her breathing evened out against his side in ragged stages until sleep finally took her where talking could not. He did not move at once. He sat with the weight of what she had said — and the sharper weight of what she had not — and let the quiet hold until he was sure she would not jolt awake the second he shifted. Then he eased out from under her carefully, found a throw from the sofa, and covered her with a blanket on the rug. Her braids spilled dark against the fabric. In sleep she looked younger and older at once, the kind of tired that did not belong on a guest-room mattress alone. He went upstairs. Ren was already out, turned toward Kai’s side of the bed as if he had been waiting even in sleep. Kai slid in without waking him, stared at the ceiling, and let the muddle run: fathers who chose the wrong side, monsters who did the hurting, a woman who decided suffering alone
Adrian knocked once and waited until she said come in. Ayesha had just finished dressing. Simple clothes, new braids falling neat over her shoulders, the lip piercing catching the lamplight when she turned. He looked at her for a second longer than the moment required. “You look beautiful.” She smiled, shy and quick. “Thank you.” The rest of his face did not match the compliment. Grim sat under it, the kind of quiet that came with warehouses and timelines. She noticed at once. “That bad?” “Not really,” he said. “It could be worse.” “Do you already know what it is?” He considered her, then nodded once. “Yes. And I’m not certain how clean it will be. I leave tonight. Two days. Maybe three. You’re going to stay with Ren and Kai.” She stiffened. “I can stay longer here. I don’t want to intrude on them. They have Aurelia. They just—” “No.” His voice stayed even, but it did not bend. “You will not stay here alone. I will not risk you. You know why.” She did. The dark. The calls
