LOGINKerris POV"I'm talking to you, Kerris Hart!" Ty barks. It is Frank who responds, "Alpha Ty, may I suggest you call your uncle." Racing up the porch, I go into the house and shut the door without sparing him a glance. Tyrel knows I'm no longer untouched, and now he knows I slept with his uncle. He probably believes I've been in bed with countless guys, which means I'm beyond defiled, by his standard. Shouldn't he be grossed out by the thought of getting mated to someone like me? Why the hell did he follow me here? My phone starts ringing in my purse. I pull it out to turn it off, thinking it's him, but it's the Alpha King. A part of me is scared of taking the call. Despite what Frank said in the car, I can't help worrying that Zach might be calling to make me talk to his nephew? I won't. I don't want to be in the same room as the ex or anyone whom I fear might have poisoned me. I brace myself to tell him this before sliding the answer button."Hello." "Tyrel can not enter the ho
Kerris POV"I told you about the search," he says carefully. "They're are prime suspects--" "My father is not a suspect!" "Like I told you, they found illegal meds in your house. There's a law against that." "Emily," I gasp. "It's her."It has to be her and no one else. I don't even believe Doris is guilty. "Your stepsister is detained, too. I'll get to the bottom of this, Kerris. I don't want you to worry." "How can I not worry? Your Gammas arrested my dad and are probably treating him like a criminal because of me. Where did they take him, to the royal prison?" "No. They're all been detained in Moon Crest. To keep things quiet. And they're not treating him like a criminal." Moon Crest is a modest pack not far from here. They're relatively new with a small population, occupying a small patch of land not too far from the castle."If you found poison in our house, Emily is the one who put it there. I don't believe anyone else in that house will ever hurt me." "Neither do I," he
Kerris POV"My father is not a suspect!" "I'm sure you're right," Zach replies. His voice rings with tender confidence that dad will never harm his own child. "It's just that he knows about you, and he's close to you. It's protocol to search your house. That's all." Me and dad talked first thing when I woke up this morning, and I can still hear the fear and relief in his voice. He didn't say a word about warriors from the King coming to search the house. If it's a secret and impromptu, then he probably didn't know about it. We'll meet before sunset. I'm sure he'll tell me all about it then. "So I... read the amendment." Zach doesn't act like he heard me. His expression is impassive and his eyes remain ahead. "Did you amend those laws because of me?" "Yes," he replies simply. "I told you. Whoever did it will pay." All morning, I have been trying not to get ahead of myself by thinking Zach Stone tweaked existing laws because of me. But the butterflies in my stomach won't let up e
Zach POVWhen Curtis takes his seat across from me later, I have little interest in whether he knows I'm the beast or not. All I want is to find out what my nephew is up to. Especially where Kerris is concerned. I have no patience for the begging and excuses about why he lied to my Gamma. In ten minutes, I've made him tell me what Tyrel is up to, most of which are things I already knew. The preparations for a mating ceremony and the fact that the nephew is looking for the male who bought all of Kerris' night from the Den. I consider summoning Tyrel. But I know it's a bad idea. I can't trust myself around the scoundrel. If I sense he's responsible for hurting Kerris, I might kill him on the spot, family or not. I'm still twitchy as hell when my meeting with Curtis ends. Caleb and a few other warriors are now keeping an eye on the nephew. I'll meet him face to face when I'm a little calm. Tomorrow or the day after that. When I return to the house, Kerris is fast asleep. Henry said h
Tyrel (Third-person POV)No. Ty shakes hishead without realizing it. No one knows what he did. Not his dad. Not anyone except his guys. He masked his scent and voice. Kisses didn't even know it was him.He even asked her questions about other customers to throw her off his tracks. As far as the girl is concerned, he could be any of the Alphas in the Kingdom. He could even be a foreigner. Thanks to the brief persuasion, he was able to learn that Axel only goes to the Den once a month. And he usually have three chics at a time. Gareth, Ty's own father, was there during Christmas season to get laid. Imagine that. His own daddy could have bought and fücked Kerris Hart. Maybe that's preferred to his uncle. Nope. Both are equally worse. Ty feels like throwing up. "I asked you a question," Gareth rises. "I expect plain words. Not a shake of your head! Did you do it?" He looks ready to throw the first punch."Did I do... what? What are you talking about?""Did you poison Kerris HART?""
Tyrel (Third-person POV) Ty walks into the little private house in the forest and look around. It's still the same. He and the guys used to come here to chill when they were in college. It was their hideout. Ever since he became Alpha, he has been too busy, and there's no need to sneak a human female out here anymore. Not when many she-wolves are willing to have him between their legs. His days of settling for humans are behind him. Kisses, the Matron's assistant, is blindfolded and tied to a chair when he walks into the living room, 'You're sure she didn't see you, right?' He links his Gamma. 'Yes, I'm sure.' She starts screaming. Or trying to. Her mouth is gagged. She tries to move and the chair squeaks. Ty lets his gaze roam her body and thinks she's as fūckäblë as the last time he saw her. But he is on a mission. He'll get a name out of her before taking anything else she has to offer. Curtis' phone starts vibrating, getting his attention. The Gamma's face twists into a fro
