Kerris POV

“I don't understand.”

“Neither do I,” dad throws up both hands. “They have been patient with the monthly payment. I don't know what changed all of a sudden. I was there earlier, and the director won't even see me. I talked to his deputy. He said something about balancing their books before the new financial year.”

When I look at the letter in my hands again, I can't help but recall the night that has just passed.
