FAZER LOGINZach POV
The moon is waxing. So is my monthly curse. I can feel the beast's strength and intensity growing as it often does before he emerges on the full moon. Three days from now, I will go into my cage where Justin and Caleb will secure the lock to contain the evil inside me. It's the only way to keep my kingdom safe. I need to take the edge off badly. As usual, I have gone racing and done all sorts of cardio before coming here. This is my last exercise before I turn in for the night. As I stare at the trembling girl sitting by the bed, I almost wish the Matron hadn't recommended her. A highborn fresh find. That's what she called her. “What's the matter, Butterfly? Not expecting your king to choose you?” I ask, moving further into the room. “N..no, your majesty,” she stutters, keeping her head down. She shifts nervously on the bed, causing the pretty ribbon wrapped around her body to loosen slightly. My groin stiffens. “The Matron said she has a special premium for me tonight. I see what she means. You seem special. I hear you're new to the job.” “Yes, your majesty.” Her voice cracks. That voice is oddly familiar. Ah, well. It doesn't bother me. She could be any of the girls I see around. The mask reveals nothing of her perfectly shaped face. At least, I can see her light brown eyes and nice lips. Very pretty. Full lips. It doesn't matter to me if I know her or not. I better get on with why I'm here. Christmas or not, tomorrow is a work day for me. I have a pile of stately matters waiting for my attention. I let my gaze move over her, appreciating all the lush, gentle curves and the velvety gold of her smooth skin. She does look like “fresh catch.” Like all the other girls’ her jacket is a see-through made from satin net. Every scanty lace covering her feminine spots is on display. My body reacts to the sight, urging me forward. She doesn't back away when I beside her on the bench this time. Though it seems like it's taking an effort not to. I can hear her heart thumping. Is it from excitement that her Alpha King is about to claim her? I hope so. The scent in the air is too thick, but I catch a trace of fear. I should reassure her somehow. “I bite, butterfly,” I reach out and take the ribbon holding the net jacket in place. I start to pull it open, unwrapping my Christmas present as I add, "But I promise you'll like it.” The net jacket falls open. Her cleavage is full and madly inviting. I take her hand, feeling it shake a little. Making her rise, I lead to the bed and have her stand before me. I want to first devour her with my eyes. She's good to look at but painfully shy and self-conscious. A shy prõstitute. I can't help but smile at the irony. Maybe I should have left my mask on. “I can't see you,” I remind her as my fingers trail down her body. I wish she would loosen up, but she remains stiff, and my dıck is harder than when I walked in. My patience is slipping away. Life would be so much easier if I don't even have to come here. Justin says it's bad form to openly sleep with anyone who isn't Madison. The strain and fallout is not worth the trouble because of my position. “You do it with any girl and she expects forever from you.' Not to mention, she could get pregnant intentionally, and I would be forced to keep her. I can't make the same mistake my dad made. I'm a product of such a mistake and know how hard a pup's life can be if they came into the world by such a union. "I know I'm your first customer," I whisper against her lips. "Don't be nervous. Think of me as your client, not your Alpha King.” My words are working the magic. She starts to unclench as her body loosens in my arms. I feel her skin goes warm and her heart takes up a different beat, one I'm quite familiar with. She's getting aroused. Good. “Pretend you were here yesterday,” I lull. “And it was so good that I'm back for more." Her lips part. Only a breath separates our mouth. She expects me to kiss her. Not a chance. Not on her lips. For the first time since I walked in, I let myself look into her eyes. It's the same color as Tyrel's fruitcake girl. Her face flashes before me. I force that image out of my head to focus on the one in front of me. She's ready for my kiss. I bent and drop my lips on the small birth mark on her collarbone. She melts at the contact. Something thrash inside me, eager for me to claim her. It's so intense that I can't tell if Ares, my wolf, or the demon. A soft, gentle sound escapes her, and I realize that my fangs touched her flesh. I sit back to gain back control. "Take off the jacket," I order. I'm trying not to scare her. If I take it off myself, I'll rip it like an animal. That could make her stiffen from my touch once again. She obeys, her hands trembling a little. Damn, she's made for what I'm about to do to her! I unzip my pants and start to take it off. “Kneel, butterfly.” Those bewitching eyes widen as they move to the buttons on the wall. She backs away from me. I want to drag her and make her do what I want. But it's only enjoyable if she's willing. She looks at the wall again. “That's right. I paid for everything. Come here. Get on your knees.” I sound desperate and impatient. She hesitates, blinking very fast. Her eyes become teary. Kerris POV Yup. I knew it. I'd felt eyes but had refused acknowledge they belong to a werewolf passerby. I'd told myself that they were probably another creature of the woods. In truth, I didn't care. Or more accurately, knowing someone's might be watching had increased the thrill. But that feeling has gone now that the sëx̌ session is over. What's left is embarrassment. Someone had watched me getting fücķed by the Alpha King.I let my head drop on Zach's chest, hiding my face from him. 'It's my fault,' he sighs, smoothing my back. 'I should've been patient till we get home. But they're gone now. They ran away.' 'Do you know who it is?' I ask with my face pressed to his chest still. 'A forest guard. I assume. I'll find out. They're female.' I lift my head. It's less embarrassing knowing that our audience was the same sëx and not a male wolf. "Really? Did you see her face?" "Nope. Why? You want me to punish them for seeing our Queen's round... bubble büťt?" His hands begin to
Keris POV Two massive wolves race close behind me. No matter how fast I go, I don't outrun them. Their hearts and mine beat together. The two are my lover, my mate and my protector. Just as I am theirs. Or his. Both wolves are the Alpha King. It doesn't take long for us to lose the others. His brother's presence was the first to fade. Perhaps Zach told all of them to leave us alone. With my senses, I search for other passing wolves, determined to race another way and avoid them. This time is for mine and Zach's. Thankfully, the path is clear and empty. It's a night of celebration. The wolves who are normally out in the woods on moonless nights like these are the same ones enjoying themselves back at the castle. I don't slow down until I reach my favorite river. It's close to the mountains near the house where I lived this past month. The sight of the waterfall makes me realize how thirsty I am. As I shift to my human form, I feel Zach do the same but don't turn back to look at
Kerris POVThe bright light of the castle continues to fade as Zach and I sneak farther from its massive walls. A few warriors lurk around keeping watch. Zach says something to them through the mindlink. Then he places a finger across his lips, no doubt ordering them not to tell anyone we left the building. We are far from the massive walls of my new home when I look up at the sky for no reason. It's a new moon, so it's not like I can see anything up there except the bright grey clouds. Especially with my wolfless eyes. The Moon's soft light filters through the cloud, revealing the trees on our path. Squirrels and other woodland creatures scurrying about.Zach and I are walking so closely together that our steps are almost in sync with his large body brushing mine every now and then. We don't speak. And the silence is so peaceful and natural that it feels like we come out into the woods like this often. The only sound around us are the crackling of dry leaves under our feet, an owl
Kerris POVThe only difference between the Alpha King's mating ceremony and all the ones I've been to is the fact that I'm the center of attention. And the entire kingdom seem to be here in the castle tonight. Also, the hall is so elaborately decorated. It's hard to believe I'm part of the reason for the crowd and the celebration. When I glance dad's way, he's surrounded by well wishers, and I can tell he feels the same way. The reading of our vows, the rites and all the prayers are the same as all the mating ceremonies I've ever witnessed. Yet it feels like it's my first time coming across the words. The ceremony itself doesn't last up to a half hour. After that, the high priest blesses my crown and hands it to the Alpha King, who then places it on my head. The crowd's roar and howls are like nothing I've ever heard. Powerful males whom I've only seen on TV come to bow before me, touching their foreheads to my hand as custom requires. These are werewolves from the highest social
Zach POVI spend the rest of the time the same way I've spent the last two days. Dealing with the mess Tyrel made. All the members of the Alpha Council and the Elders of the West Coast remain in my castle. One thing the latter and I have in common at the moment is their desire for their King to be mated immediately. The Alpha council has a 'more pressing matter' to resolve. We're now assembled in the large meeting parlour of the castle, and I can't help but smile inwardly when I think of all the information I've gathered this past two days. Okay maybe I'm smiling because of the female in my bedroom upstairs. The whispers of all the werewolves fill the expansive room as they argue with themselves about the events of the last few days. As far they're concerned, Black Rock and the River Howl pack need new Alphas immediately. Alpha Lee and Brody, the former leaders of these packs, have been convicted of treason. It turns out that Tyrel was plotting with them to dethrone me. I recall t
Zach POVI feel her pulse quicken at my words. Her heart thumps louder as a mild scent of fear rises around her. My lips halt on the smooth flesh of her hand. It's the only spot I should be kissing her for now. Until she shifts. So that things don't get out of hand.My own heart speeds up at her reaction. I grow scared that she doesn't want to be mated. Please, Fate, don't make me insist. I want her to want me, too. Lifting my gaze to hers, I ask, "What's wrong? Surely, you know a mating ceremony will happen sooner or later." "Yeah... I... guess so. But Luna Queen?" "We're a couple. I'm Alpha King, remember?" "It's just... it feels real now, and you didn't even... propose. Also, tonight? I thought you said I need bed rest?" "The sooner the better. Our wedding is hours from now," I smooth her skin with my thumb, hoping it calms her. Actually, I need her to feel rather than think at the moment. "The ceremony is a few hours before your first shift. You'll be well rested by then. A
Kerris POV Cŕãp! At the mention of Mary, I remember that today is not only a workday. It's my last day in the office. "I... sorry. I fell asleep," I replied. "It's alright," he replies softly. "Justin has informed her that you're indisposed. You can take the day off and rest, but you have to re
Zach POV It's hard to interpret the look on her face. Does she hate what I've just told her? Well, tough shıť. She has no choice. She's stuck with me whether she likes it or not. There's the mate bond.Oh, Fate... "Thanks to you," I continue. "I'm well enough to be out of the cage. It has never
Tyrel (Third-person POV)No. Ty shakes hishead without realizing it. No one knows what he did. Not his dad. Not anyone except his guys. He masked his scent and voice. Kisses didn't even know it was him.He even asked her questions about other customers to throw her off his tracks. As far as the gi
Tyrel (Third-person POV) Ty walks into the little private house in the forest and look around. It's still the same. He and the guys used to come here to chill when they were in college. It was their hideout. Ever since he became Alpha, he has been too busy, and there's no need to sneak a human fe
