Tiana

As soon as I returned, I stripped off the clothes I was wearing and, without showering, changed into the first nightgown I stumbled on.

It was a thin cotton fabric, barely reaching me mid-thigh, with delicate straps that kept slipping off my shoulders.

I collapsed face-first onto the bed, too exhausted to even pull back the covers.

My body sank into the mattress, and I let out a breath that felt like it had been trapped in my chest for hours. My face pressed into the pillow and my legs sprawled apart, one knee bent slightly because that’s just how I landed.

I should move. Should at least cover myself properly.

But I was so tired.

Tired from moving those steps. Tired of pretending and trying to fit into a role no one actually wanted me to fill. Tired of being looked at like I was an imposter.

The room was quiet. Blessedly quiet and I closed my eyes.

Maybe if I just stayed here, my mind would find peace from all the chaos that filled it.

Tiana I almost scoffed. ‘I am not a child’ when acting like one. Such hypocrisy. I stood outside the tent for a long moment after he dismissed me, staring at the firelight dancing across the clearing. Normal. Everything looked so normal. Except for the Alpha sitting alone on that log, bleeding through his shorts and refusing help because his pride—or his anger, or whatever twisted thing was eating at him—wouldn’t let him accept it from me. Each repetition of his words echoed in my head, driving the knife deeper. I wanted to scream at him, then grab his shoulders and shake him until he understood that Kaius was just a friend and that I hadn’t done anything wrong. He needed to be told that his jealousy was tearing us apart. But what would be the point? He’d already decided what he believed. And nothing I said would change that. I turned and ducked back into the tent, letting the canvas flap fall closed behind me. The space felt smaller now. Two bedrolls lay side

Then again, it was a faint scent. More pronounced was the smell of the herbal trees of our woods. Which meant that he had intentionally masked it. My wolf whined with distress, wanting to go to him. To check on him and make sure he was alright. But I forced her down, kept my pace steady, and said nothing. By the time we reached the border camp, the sun was beginning its descent toward the horizon. Golden light slanted through the trees, painting everything in warm amber. The camp itself was more organized than I’d expected. Several tents already stood in a cleared area, with a fire pit in the center and supplies stacked neatly to one side. Zane dismounted first, his movements still controlled but definitely stiff now. He gave orders in that calm, commanding voice that made wolves snap to attention. Kaius appeared at my elbow as I finished adjusting my boots. “You did well on the run.” “Thank you.” “First time traveling like that?” “As Luna, yes.” He nodded, t

Tiana I woke to sunlight filtering through the curtains and the immediate, visceral awareness of my body. Everything ached. Not the pleasant soreness from a good stretch or a long walk. This was different. My thighs trembled when I tried to shift positions. The space between my legs felt tender, oversensitive, like every nerve ending had been stripped raw and left exposed. And with the physical awareness came the memories. Zane’s hands on my skin. His fingers inside me. His voice reminding me exactly who I belonged to. The way I’d cried. Not just from pleasure, though goddess knows there had been plenty of that. Heat flooded my face even though I was alone. I pressed my palms against my cheeks, trying to cool the burn of shame that crawled up my throat. ‘What is wrong with me?’ I should be angry and feel violated, used, or any number of righteous emotions that would make sense given what had happened. Yet, my wolf practically stirred inside me, stretching lazily

TianaHe added a third finger, stretching me and filling me so completely that I gasped. The sensation bordered on too much, but he didn’t slow down. His fingers curved inside me, hitting that spot that made my vision white out, while his thumb kept that maddening pressure on my clit. “You feel that?” His breath was ragged now, his control slipping. “Do you feel how your body takes me? How it was made for this?” I could barely breathe, so I gave no answer. His free hand slid up my spine, pressing between my shoulder blades to keep me pinned face-down. The position left me completely at his mercy, unable to move and unable to escape the pleasure building to an unbearable peak. “I can feel you clenching around my fingers,” he murmured, his voice rough. “You’re close. So fucking close.” He was right. The coil in my belly wound tighter with every thrust of his fingers, every circle of his thumb. My thighs trembled. My hands fisted so hard in the sheets that I worried I might

TianaHis palm was warm against my skin. His fingers wrapped around my ankle completely while his thumb brushed against the bone there. “Alpha, what are you doing?” “I said don’t move.” His hand slid higher. Slowly. Up to my calf, tracing the curve of muscle with deliberate precision. My breath came in short, shallow gasps. Every nerve in my body screamed at me to do something—pull away, sit up, insist on knowing what he was doing. But I couldn’t move. With every inch his hand travelled, my wolf stirred, practically purring with satisfaction. “You don’t understand, do you?” His voice was barely above a whisper now. “What it does to every man. Seeing a woman like this.” His hand reached the back of my knee then paused there. “Or seeing the way you smiled and laughed with him.” Wait! Was this about… Kaius? This was about Kaius. “I wasn’t—” My voice cracked. “He got injured. I was just helping him take care of it.” “Helping him as what? The healer?” His fing
