Sarah povEvery moment I get, I rush back to the hospital to check on Alister. Lazarus refuses to step away from him ever since Alister woke up and tried to claw out his throat. Since the doctors and nurses know not to test him with attempts to force him into rest, they brought in an extra bed, so Lazarus can rest when he’s too exhausted to stay awake. Once again, I slip into the room quietly and I’m greeted by the same view as usual - Alister is asleep and Lazarus hasn’t moved a muscle, slumped in a chair pulled so close to the bed that his knees touch the frame.
