Chapter 40:

The dawn crept along the horizon in pale blushes of pink and gold.

Aria woke to the distant hum of tension whispers and restless paws scraping stone.

She lay in Kael’s arms, her cheek pressed to the curve of his chest.

His heartbeat was steady, a living drum that anchored her in a powerless calm.

But peace was a fleeting dream in the Midnight Pack.

When she lifted her head, Kael’s jaw was tense; his wolf fur bristled even in human form.

His eyes, haunted gray, stared past her toward the courtyard where the pack began to gather.

She pushed herself up, trailing her fingertips across the wound he’d received the night before it still throbbed, but clotting.

A drop of crimson stained her palm, and she swallowed, knowing this blood was more than flesh it was a bond, prophecy in motion.

A shrill bark shattered the hush. Lucien stormed forward, Beta’s cloak whipping behind him.

“Alpha,” he snarled. “We have reports: Bloodfang retreated, but they killed off our eastern scou

  • Claimed by the Midnight Alpha   The Howl Beyond the Bloodline

Chapter 41: The moment Aria stepped out into the chill of twilight, she felt it low, guttural, and ancient.A howl. But not from within the Midnight Pack. Not Bloodfang either. This one was… older. Her pulse quickened as the sound rolled over the mountains like a warning drum. The courtyard stilled around her. Warriors froze mid-spar. The sentries on the spires raised their heads. Even Kael, fierce and ever-focused, tensed beside her as if something primal stirred in his bones.“That howl,” Aria whispered, eyes scanning the forest's edge beyond the gates. “It’s not one of ours.”Kael’s hand tightened around her wrist. “No,” he said, voice rough. “It isn’t.”Then it came again. A second howl. Deeper this time. Closer. And this time, Aria felt it vibrate in her chest like a buried truth clawing its way free.Something was coming.“They shouldn’t be here,” Lucien growled, pacing before the war table in the inner hall. The map of the valley trembled beneath his claws. “We would’ve scen

Chapter 39Moonlight spilled like shattered glass across the ruined courtyard. Every broken statue, fractured marble tile, and scattered bone glimmered under the cold glow. Aria Moonshade stood at the far edge, heart pounding so hard she could feel it behind her teeth. She tightened her grip on her dagger its blade still stained with Bloodfang blood. She had one chance to stop this.Opposite her, Kael Blackthorn watched with unyielding intensity. The alpha’s wolf form crouched low behind him, muscles coiled like living steel. His icy gray eyes haunted and desperate never left her.She exhaled slowly, fighting to steady herself. The air felt suffocating. The moon loomed full and bright, like a silent judge.“You don’t belong here,” Aria whispered, voice measured but fierce. The words cut the night. “You stole me.”Kael’s jaw flexed. He didn’t immediately respond. Then he spoke in a voice rough with years of pain and power. “I claimed you because you’re the only one who can break

Chapter 38: The hall reeked of blood and dust.Aria’s ears rang as she pushed herself off the cracked stone floor. A heavy ache pulsed in her ribs, and crimson slicked her fingers. The aftermath of battle lingered in the shattered walls, strewn weapons, and the scent of burned wolf fur.Kael lay motionless in the center of the chamber, his body sprawled across the marble. Silver blood pooled beneath him.Her heart leapt into her throat. “Kael!” she screamed, stumbling over broken pillars to reach him.He was barely breathing.Aria fell to her knees and lifted his head gently into her lap. His usually sharp eyes were dull and unfocused. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and every breath was a struggle.“No, no, no…” she whispered, tears threatening to spill.Kael coughed, and the weak sound ripped through her like claws. “My bond…” he croaked. “It’s breaking. Without you… I”His voice faltered, and his hand reached blindly, trembling, until she caught it in her own.“I

Chapter 37: The moon was high, casting silver light over the blood-stained ruins of what used to be the northern training grounds. Smoke still curled from smoldering wreckage. The stench of burnt fur and ash thickened the air. Aria stood motionless, her claws dripping, heart pounding in sync with the throbbing mark of the Moon on her shoulder.Kael approached slowly, his own body battered and bruised. "They came for the sacred scroll," he said grimly. "But this attack wasn't just about the scroll. Someone from within helped them."Aria turned sharply. "You mean a traitor in the pack?"He nodded. "No outsider could've bypassed the Moonfire perimeter unless they knew the sigil's rhythm. Only insiders know that."Before Aria could respond, Rowan emerged from the smoke, carrying a broken blade slick with fresh blood. "We have more problems," he growled. "The Sealed Alpha... he wasn’t leading the charge. This was just a diversion."Kael's expression darkened. "Then where is he?"

  • Claimed by the Midnight Alpha   The Ancestor’s Verdict

Chapter 36: The temple courtyard lay in uneasy calm beneath the fractured moons, one pale silver, the other an ominous red. Aria and Elandra stood at the center circle, hands bruised and trembling from their duel. Around them, the alliance of packs watched in stunned silence. Emotion crackled like static air, the weight of prophecy thick enough to suffocate. From the scorched earth, a series of luminous glyphs ignited ancient runes that traced a circle within circles, sealing the sisters’ fate. The ground trembled. Jaws tightened. Fur bristled. All waited for the final act.Without warning, spectral moonlight congealed near the center of the circle. Then, from memory and legend, a figure emerged:Tall, gaunt, clad in lunar armor etched with runes. His eyes one molten silver, the other deep eclipse scanned the assembled wolves with stern authority.“I am Kaelorian,” he proclaimed in a voice like a storm’s low rumble. “Alpha of the First Pack. Guardian of Oracles. Heir to the Pact
