Lou ran so fast to the riverbank. It was as if something enormous was controlling her. My heart was beating rapidly the closer we got to the river. It couldn’t be right. Even if she was powerful, she couldn’t face the intruder alone.

‘Lou, we need to call someone. We can’t face the enemy alone!’ I warned her.

‘There!’ She said. I could feel she was worried about something.

She ran towards the thing on the riverbank. I saw it as soon as I passed the rock blocking my view. A man was lying there in torn clothes. I quickly approached, noticing his heart beating weaker and weaker.

I noticed his chest rising and falling, signaling he was still alive. The delicious scent I had inhaled earlier was getting stronger as if coming from his body. Who was he? How did he get here? Judging from the bluish color of his skin, he must have been drifting for days.

‘Mate!’ Lou shouted. What? ‘Mate! He’s our mate!’
