Chapter 33: Persuasion

When the night fell, Sherly was alone in her bedroom. She stared at the crying as her eyes continued to cry. Sherly then took her phone, her fingers trembling as she dialed Solace's number. After a few rings, her friend answered, and Sherly wasted no time in pouring out her regrets.

She really wanted someone to talk to right now. If she can't talk to her best friend right now, she really doesn't know what will happen to her. Her mind's full of thoughts that she can't sort out.

"Hello?"

"Sol." Sherly's voice quivered with emotion.

"Hmm? Sherly, what's wrong? Did something happen to you?" Solace asked with worries in her voice.

"I feel so stupid, Sol." She sobbed and added, "I feel so stupid for not listening to George's explanation. I should have called him and talked it out; I should have listened to him as he coaxed me, as he made things better for us, but I let everything spiral out of control instead. And now, I've stopped contacting him altogether."
