Athena

“Athena,” Nikki called out as she enters the pack house’s mini-library.

“I am here,” I shouted, I was seated on the floor beside one of the bookshelves. I didn’t know that the pack house this much of books and some of them are even documentaries of the previous people of Purple Hill. I will learn so much more here than from the books that I will buy in the book store.

“I never knew you love reading,” Nikki said as she sat beside me while placing the tray of food she was carrying on the floor.

“Is that even allowed here?” I asked.

“As long as you don’t mess up the books I think no one will care,” Nikki replied. “And my brother will be very much more concern that you ate and not getting hungry than having some books ruined.”

I laughed.

“You hate books,” I said as I took a bite of her freshly baked cookies.

“It’s not that I hate them,” she said as she stared at the stacks of books by my feet, “You finished all that?” She asked in surprise.
