I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling as the darkness of the night seemed to press in around me. Sleep eluded me, my mind consumed by thoughts of Cane and the chokehold Leah had over him.

I couldn't shake the image of him, trapped and helpless, his eyes clouded by the potion's influence.
